Hello there! I'm Dutch, and I'm on a quest to find my perfect forever home, complete with a new best friend – and I hope that friend is you! It's a mystery to me why no one has scooped me up yet, but I promise I have so much love to give.
I'm just the right size, weighing in at a comfortable 40 pounds, and I'm absolutely thriving in my foster home. Playing keep-away with toys and frolicking around with my canine foster siblings is a blast! I'm bursting with energy, like any pup my age, so I'll need plenty of exercise and a patient teacher as I continue to learn and grow.
My foster family has been guiding me on the dos and don'ts around the house, helping me understand what's fair game for chewing and what's off-limits. Socks do hold a special allure for me, but I'm working on it – a home with young kids who tend to leave things lying around might not be the best fit for me.
I'm making great strides with potty training and haven't had an accident in quite a while, as long as I get my regular outdoor breaks. I'm quite content in my kennel when my foster family is away, and I even sleep through the night without a fuss after tiring myself out with playtime.
I'm a social butterfly, and I adore everyone I meet, whether they're human or canine. My happy-go-lucky demeanor has earned me the title of "the happiest dog ever," and I wouldn't harm a fly. While I've never met a cat, I'd be curious about them and probably want to play – no harm intended!
I might be a busy boy, but don't let that fool you. I've been diagnosed with a low-grade heart murmur (grade 2 of 6), but I had a positive checkup with a cardiologist who assured me it's unlikely to cause any issues in the future. They also said I could look it up – heart murmurs are no big deal! Still, it's a good idea to keep an eye on it during my yearly wellness exams, just to be sure.
