Story
Hi, I'm Mixey!
If you're looking for a loyal best friend, personal security system, outdoor adventure buddy, and professional hug collector all rolled into one beautiful package—congratulations, you've found me.
My favorite thing in the world is being with my people. Wherever you are, that's where I want to be. In the kitchen? I'm there. Watching TV? I'm there. Heading to the door? Don't worry, I'm already waiting to greet you like you've been gone for six months instead of six minutes.
I'm a pretty easygoing girl who adjusted to my foster home's routine in just a couple of days. I enjoy my morning potty break, relaxing on the deck throughout the day, and taking a stroll before bedtime. I'd happily do some extra running if given the chance, but I'm also perfectly content hanging out with my people and supervising the neighborhood.
When it comes to showing affection, I believe actions speak louder than words. I'll stay right by your side, gently place a paw on your lap when I need a little extra love, and happily soak up all the brushing sessions you're willing to provide. Fair warning: once you start brushing me, I may convince you that stopping is not an option. My soft, beautiful coat deserves proper attention, after all.
Outside is my happy place. Birds, squirrels, rabbits, moths—if it moves, I'm probably interested. One of my favorite nighttime activities is leaping after moths like I'm training for the Canine Olympics.
I'm naturally cautious when strangers first arrive. If someone knocks, I'll let everyone know about it. However, if visitors come in calmly and give me a chance to check them out, I warm up nicely. Slow introductions are best, especially with new animals, although I've done well with my neighbor's dog.
As for scary things? Vacuums and lawn mowers are not on my list of favorite activities. Fortunately, my solution is simple: I just stay away from them and let them handle their business.
I have excellent house manners. I don't jump on furniture or beds, and I either sleep beside the bed or relax in my crate, which I happily enter on my own whenever I feel like it. I know commands like sit, come, and easy, walk nicely on a leash, and patiently sit for my leash to be put on. I'm also highly motivated by treats, which seems like a very reasonable life philosophy.
If I could tell my future family one thing, it would be this: I will love you with my whole heart. Whether we're taking long walks, short walks, sitting on the deck, or simply spending time together, I'll be your loyal companion through it all. All I ask in return is a few hugs, some belly rubs, and a place by your side.
