My name is Butch and I am from Missouri. From the foster: Meet Butch! We have had him for six weeks and he was very shut down when he came to us, but has blossomed into such a sweet and affectionate boy. He is fearful of new people, and warms up to females, but he takes much longer to warm up to men and will need additional training to build trust with men. Butch is an anxious boy who is regularly taking anxiety medication and needs patience and additional training to build his confidence and help him settle in. He is a big hunk of love, weighing in at 88 lbs. He is dog-friendly, we have one resident dog and others have come to play. He is crate and house trained, calm, sweet and attaches quickly to his person. He would prefer to be near you at all times. He's a big fan of stuffed toys, bones and he LOVES cheese. He's pretty respectful of boundaries and gates and has very nice house manners. Butch is not bold but he is loyal. He wants to be loved and a part of the family and after you build initial trust he'll do his best to be brave for you. He is a flight risk, having a fenced in yard will help immensely. If not, be sure to be intentional about double leashing and having a secure hold. He will have training support post adoption from the rescue to help him gain confidence and aid in relationship building with his new family. Butch will make a wonderful addition to your life - he is a big goofy sweetheart looking for a secure and stable home where he can shine.

Hi! I'm Hank! I'm from Kentucky! From his foster: Meet Hank! Hank is a loyal and loving Dane. He is a big goof who is content lounging on the couch all day with you, but also enjoys a stroll around the neighborhood. He is sweet and gentle towards my resident cat and strangers. He loves to nudge his head against his humans and will take over your entire couch or bed. He already knows sit, stay, and paw. Hank walks great on a leash, but due to his size and strength, he does slightly pull when he is excited. He loves to greet people on our walks, but displays some "stranger danger towards certain dogs. He does not lunge or growl, but will bark at the dog. For this reason, we have been avoiding interaction with other dogs. He is working hard on his leash training and reactivity, and responds well to positive reinforcement! Hank has not met any children yet, but I would imagine that he would do well with them given his calm demeanor. However, since he is a big boy, he has the ability to accidentally knock them over. He gets along well with cats, but would be best suited in a home with no other dogs. Hank can also be quite the escape artist from time to time. When trying to walk out the door, Hank will do his very best to put his head between you and the door so that he can get out and explore. Hank is a joyful boy who is on the search for his furever home. If you are looking for a cuddle buddy, someone to get your steps in with, or simply a companion that will make you smile everyday, Hank is the one for you!
