Story
I adopted Hercules when he was about 9 months old from the local Houston SPCA. I already had another Anatolian shepherd, and they quickly bonded. He is a big, confident, and friendly guy - albeit a little had headed and stubborn. Hes great with people, kids, and dogs, but is not good with small animals. While he has gotten along with our cat, it’s taken a lot of work, patience, and training. Fast forward a few years and I met and married my now wife. After moving in, we learned about her severe dog allergies that have resulted in chronic autoimmune issues. We have tried grooming, robot vacuums, HEPA filters, and everything else we can think of with no major improvement. Its been years and we are at the point that we want to make sure Hercules can find a new home while still being young enough to adapt to it. We hope he can find a loving family who is aware of the breed, their strong will and equally big personalities.

Story
Hi there, I'm Manny. I'm a 1-year-old Anatolian Shepherd Mix, and I weigh a solid 62lbs. Life has been quite an adventure for me, and I'm ready to find my forever family! First things first, I'm a good boy when it comes to training. I've got the hang of crate and potty training, and I'm even acing basic commands like sit, stay, and leash manners. It's been a lot of work, but I'm eager to please my humans. I absolutely love playing with both male and female dogs, although I haven't had the chance to meet any cats yet. When it comes to treats, I've mastered the art of taking them with the utmost care. No need to worry about my manners there! And guess what? I'm heartworm negative and all up-to-date on my shots, so I'm healthy and ready to join your family. I'm an active guy, so I'd do best in a home with a fenced backyard where I can run and play. Apartment living isn't really my thing, but I'd thrive in a family environment, especially if there are kids to play with! Car rides are a blast for me, and I promise I won't be a backseat driver. Plus, I'm not at all aggressive when it comes to toys. So, if you're looking for a loyal, well-trained, and adaptable furry friend, I'm your Manny. Apply to adopt Manny at bigloverescue.org. Story
Hey there, pals! The name's Dexter, and I've got a tail-wagging tale to share with you. 🐾 I'm what they call a sweetie and an adventure lover. At first, I might seem a tad shy, but let me tell you, once I get to know you, I'm all about the love and cuddles. You won't find me causing a ruckus; I'm a bit reserved and prefer to keep things on the calm side. Now, about those house manners...well, I've been living the kennel life for a while, so I could use a helping paw in that department. But hey, I'm a quick learner and eager to please! My story began when I was just a pup, found in a park with my mom and two brothers, all thanks to the wonderful volunteers at Animal Aid Brigade. Life's an adventure, and I've embraced it with open paws. I've always been a good pup, but my brothers and mom found homes right away. I, on the other hand, was a bit shy, so I decided to take on a job at the kennel. Why, you ask? Well, I love other dogs, and I wanted to help them since I knew what it's like to be abandoned. For the past year, I've been proudly employed as an ambassador for the rescue group, welcoming new arrivals and showing them the ropes. It's been a great gig, but I've decided it's time to move on from the kennel life and find a family to call my own. Meeting new people might make me a bit insecure, but I'm a social butterfly with other dogs, and I adore some good, rough play. So, I'd be the bee's knees in a home with another dog as my partner in crime. Now, what I need is a patient and understanding adopter who can help me transition to home life with new people. With a little love and guidance, I know I can be the perfect companion you've been searching for! If you're ready for a sweet, adventure-loving, cuddle enthusiast who's just a tad shy but full of love, I'm your guy. Let's embark on this new adventure together, shall we? 🐶❤️

Story
Big Guy is a gentle giant! He is very sweet and loves being petted and being close to you. He is crate trained and house broken. He walks well on a leash. Loves to sit on the back porch steps and watch the world go by. Big Guy plays well with the dog he was found with and with my other fosters dogs. He loves to run. He is nervous when he hears thunder or fire works.  So some cuddling time would help here. He has not shown any aggression tendencies and minds well. Big Guy is a real sweetheart and always ready to play.  He is looking for his own wonderful family to take him home.June 20, 2024, 9:54 am
