Story
Looking for that special couch potato doggo who just wants to Netflix and chill with you? A low-maintenance snuggle bug ready to welcome you home to unwind after a long day? Star is your gal! She's an intelligent, amber-eyed beauty who is also a giant loaf. She was found abandoned at a gas station in central Texas - but no fear, she found the good indoor life! She'll warm your heart with her big smile, friendly and laid-back nature, and white star-shaped blaze along her forehead! She is a fast learner and has mastered major commands - sit, go to crate, go potty, go to the car, gentle treats, four paws and gentle walking. According to her foster, she's the "easiest foster dog I've ever had!". She loves adults, treats & chews, booty scritches, playing fetch or tug-o-war, laying on the couch (only with permission), sunbathing, the outdoors and allll car rides. Star is house and crate trained (including potty on command) and sleeps quietly all night. Star is a little THICC at 80lbs but is on a managed diet, targeting closer to 65-70#. Maybe you can both hit that 10,000 step goal together! She is heartworm negative, spayed and UTD on vaccines. She hasn’t had much interaction with cats but isn’t that interested in them on walks or at events. Star will thrive as the only pet in your home and is best with older kids (15yo+), although she loves those gentler supervised pets and snuggles from littles. Apply to meet Star today! https://www.animaljusticeleague.org/pets/dogs/recRgsXrFlKBdQIjg/adopt If you would like to foster, please view the information: https://www.animaljusticeleague.org/foster-info

So often are these animals dumped, abandoned, or born on the streets and never find a home to call their own. We are giving them the chance that every animal deserves. Meet Rusty, a lively adult dog with a heart full of love and joy. He`s a bundle of friendliness, always ready to play and make new friends, whether they`re human, canine, or feline. He`s easygoing, friendly, and playful with everyone he meets but he has no experience with children. Rusty is moderately active, house trained, and loves to fill his surroundings with playful noises. He craves companionship, making him the perfect addition to any family. He was only given up because his owner`s landlord said he was too big. He disagrees. He only weighs 91 pounds! Rusty is also fiercely protective, ready to stand by his loved ones no matter what. His loyalty is unwavering, and his friendship, once earned, is for life. Rusty`s playful and friendly demeanor, coupled with his easygoing and mellow nature, make him a perfect pet. Bring Rusty home and let his love and loyalty brighten your life. (tw 4/28/2025)

She loves children and around them is easygoing, friendly, playful, gentle, and cautious. She weighs 62 pounds and her energetic and jumpy personality is perfect for those who love to stay active and explore the world around them. Chloe is leash trained, making walks a breeze. A recent adopter says she is house trained but at the shelter it seems that she needs a little more guidance. Story
Woofy is a very quiet 9.5 year old senior pup, who only barks when he sees something or someone unfamiliar or when he needs to go potty. He is an absolute sweetheart who adores belly rubs and all the pets. He has a special fondness for his stuffies, especially his cuddly puppy. Woofy used to be a yard dog, kept outside all his life, when last August, he got out and got hit by a vehicle. His former owners brought him to our vet to be euthanized but our vet saw how sweet he was, and requested us to take him and give him a chance. Woofy's injuries were grave After two surgeries to repair his leg, our surgeon decided that amputation was the best decision. He had four surgeries in less than a month, and he lived in a boarding for 2 months, until a foster home opened up. He has been with his deal foster parents for a while now, and he loves and trusts them. Woofy has never known what it's like to live inside for his entire 9 years of life, or to play with toys or have friends. His life was spent in a yard, alone, sometimes hanging out with the kids. He learned to play with toys for the first time, and does not go anywhere without a stuffie in his mouth. He also steals his foster siblings' toys whenever he gets a chance. He loves to cuddle and get petted. He did not know any of these before. He is thriving in his foster home with his foster siblings, and will love a home where he gets the same amount of love and affection. Despite being a tripawd, he gets around very well and benefits from minor daily exercise to keep his legs strong. He doesn’t like to be jumped on by other dogs and loves short walks and laying down next to his people. Woofy doesn't need to be kenneled as he doesn't destroy things when left out. He thrives in the company of other dogs, which seems to boost his spirits, although he is not good with cats. Woofy would flourish in a loving home where he can either be with other gentle dogs or be the sole dog. He is great with senior dogs and will make a wonderful addition to a kind and caring family. so he is slowly adjusting to inside dog life. Woofy is currently 70 lb, fully vetted, and neutered. Woofy is being fostered in Texas, but can travel to many states and even Canada for the right home. To meet this adorable pup, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com
