Story
Hiya, my name is Liz Lemon!! I am about 2 years old and 44 pounds. Do research on my breed before coming to meet me. Some of the staff here have said I am very sweet lady. I came to the shelter as an injured stray. Right now, I am working on healing but none the less that isn`t going to stop me from finding my forever family! I do need to be kept relatively calm since I am still healing from my injuries. Since I did come to the shelter as a stray it is unknown how I would do with dogs, cats or kids. The cool thing about that is the shelter here offers a 14-day trial period called Cuddle Before You Commit to ensure that I am the right fit for you. Please remember slow introductions are always best to set me up for success.**Please apply on our website at indy.gov/activity/adopt-a-pet. Go to the website, click on the adoption application link, enter the information and hit submit. Once you have submitted your application please visit the shelter to speak with a member of our adoption staff. You can include multiple animals you are interested in on one application. Thank you for your interest in adopting one of our FABULOUS PETS! We hope to see you soon, The IACS Adoptions Team.**

Story
$1000 reward for anyone that finds or returns Sid to us!! NO QUESTIONS ASKED!! Sid has been missing since June 13, 2022 from his foster home in Indianapolis Indiana from Meridian park 46205 area. Meet Sid! His mom is Clare the cattle dog mix. He is 1 year old and ever so sweet. Super food motivated. Hes about 28 pounds and at most he will be 33 pounds. Sid ended up with us because he was one of nine dogs confiscated in a cruelty case. Sid was labeled feral and needed help to gain trust, confidence being handled. Sid has exceeded our expectations. He is AMAZING and by far the most awesome little guy ever. He is great with all dogs, cats, and strongly believe he will be perfect with pet friendly kids. A fenced yard is a must. An active home who will continue to allow him to experience life. Daily walks, going on hikes and trails, swimming, OMG he loves swimming. He needs a active outdoor activity loving family with at least 1 or 2 playful dogs in the home. He loves, loves loves car rides and every day he gets better meeting and trusting people. Sid is crate trained and house broken, he walks great on leash and is extremely food motivated. Sid is house and crate trained up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, rabies, dewormed, fecal tested negative, microchipped, neutered, and on monthly heartworm flea/tick prevention. Updated: 2/1/2023 www.animalhousesanctuary.org We believe training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues that arise, need to be addressed and/or rewarded. Understanding that continued training is a lifetime commitment, is very important. Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. Meet & Greets are a required before proceeding with an adoption. We DO NOT ship any of our pets.

Story
Meet Biscotti Bean!A 58lb, 15-month-old male Australian Shepherd with a heart as big as his fluffy, speckled coat. This sweet boy was found running loose, covered in burrs and in need of some TLC—but even then, he greeted everyone with a wagging tail and bright, trusting eyes.Biscotti Bean’s friendly personality shined even brighter at the shelter. He loves people and seeks out human affection every chance he gets. Whether it’s leaning in for pets or happily plopping down for cuddles, he’s happiest right by your side. While Biscotti adores humans, we have noticed he can be a bit timid around the other dogs at the shelter. The noisy, fast pace environment can feel overwhelming and intimidating for him, so he tends to stick close to the people he trusts.Biscotti Bean is a high-energy young Aussie- he loves to play, explore, and stay engaged, and he’d be an amazing match for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle and is excited to give him the exercise and mental stimulation he craves. We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting, please contact us via FB Messenger or email us at jcasreception@johnsoncounty.in.gov for an application. You can also find one on our website at http://johnsoncountyanimalshelter.com/adopt/. Once an application is submitted and approved, we can set an appointment to meet the pet!
