Story
Smokey is the kind of dog who wants to be part of everything you are doing. He is affectionate, people-focused, and happiest when he is close to his humans. From the moment he arrived, he showed himself to be a sweet, social guy who enjoys attention and reassurance. Even during handling and medical care, he tolerated everything well and immediately went right back to asking for affection afterward. He has an eager, happy energy about him that makes it easy to picture him following his favorite person from room to room just to stay nearby. Like many sensitive dogs, Smokey can feel overwhelmed in the shelter environment, especially around other dogs and when left alone for long periods. Outside of that stress, though, he has shown a gentle and loving personality. He appears to bond quickly with people and would likely thrive in a home where he can settle into a routine and feel secure again. Smokey is still young, full of heart, and ready to give someone a very loyal best friend. For the adopter willing to help him build confidence and decompress, there is a really wonderful dog waiting underneath all that shelter stress. All adoptions include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home. Adopted pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before leaving the shelter`s care. Story
Marla is a bright, energetic young dog who approaches life with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure. From the moment she arrived, she won people over with her affectionate nature, handing out kisses, leaning in for cuddles, and happily soaking up attention from everyone she met. She loves being close to her people and has the kind of personality that keeps you smiling, whether she`s showing off her zoomies, carrying around a toy, or trying to convince you that lap dogs come in all sizes. Her foster family described her as playful, confident, and full of life, with a special talent for turning ordinary days into fun ones. Marla is looking for an active home that will appreciate her intelligence, energy, and eagerness to be involved in everything. She has done well with children, enjoyed playtime with other dogs, and quickly became a beloved member of her foster home. Like many young dogs, she is still learning manners and can get a little carried away when she`s excited, but her joy for life is contagious. She loves fetch, enjoys having room to run, and is always ready for the next adventure. For the family willing to embrace her spirited personality, Marla offers endless entertainment, loyal companionship, and a lifetime of unforgettable memories. All adoptions include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home. Adopted pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before leaving the shelter`s care. Story
Nyla seems to have missed the memo that meeting strangers is supposed to take time. From the very beginning, she made it clear that people are her favorite thing. Staff found her friendly, affectionate, and eager to make new friends, happily seeking attention, rubbing against their legs, and choosing to stay close. She has the kind of warm, welcoming personality that makes you feel like you`ve known her for years, even if you`ve only just met. Staff have discovered that Nyla is a social butterfly with a gentle heart. She greeted new people with curiosity and affection, happily soaking up attention and companionship. The best part about dogs like Nyla is that they make it easy to imagine them fitting right into family life, whether that`s joining you for walks, lounging nearby while you relax, or greeting you enthusiastically at the end of the day. Nyla seems ready to trade shelter life for a home of her own, and her future family is going to gain a loyal companion who genuinely enjoys being part of the action. All adoptions include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home. Adopted pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before leaving the shelter`s care. $1000 reward for anyone that finds or returns Sid to us!! NO QUESTIONS ASKED!! Sid has been missing since June 13, 2022 from his foster home in Indianapolis Indiana from Meridian park 46205 area. Meet Sid! His mom is Clare the cattle dog mix. He is 1 year old and ever so sweet. Super food motivated. Hes about 28 pounds and at most he will be 33 pounds. Sid ended up with us because he was one of nine dogs confiscated in a cruelty case. Sid was labeled feral and needed help to gain trust, confidence being handled. Sid has exceeded our expectations. He is AMAZING and by far the most awesome little guy ever. He is great with all dogs, cats, and strongly believe he will be perfect with pet friendly kids. A fenced yard is a must. An active home who will continue to allow him to experience life. Daily walks, going on hikes and trails, swimming, OMG he loves swimming. He needs a active outdoor activity loving family with at least 1 or 2 playful dogs in the home. He loves, loves loves car rides and every day he gets better meeting and trusting people. Sid is crate trained and house broken, he walks great on leash and is extremely food motivated. Sid is house and crate trained up to date on all appropriate core vaccines including lepto, rabies, dewormed, fecal tested negative, microchipped, neutered, and on monthly heartworm flea/tick prevention. Updated: 2/1/2023 www.animalhousesanctuary.org We believe training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues that arise, need to be addressed and/or rewarded. Understanding that continued training is a lifetime commitment, is very important. Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. Meet & Greets are a required before proceeding with an adoption. We DO NOT ship any of our pets.
