We rescued Blue through “Almost Home Canine Rescue” 5 years ago when she was just 12– 13 weeks old from a reservation in South Dakota. She is a mixed breed and her top three breeds that came back from her cheek swab were Cattle dog, husky and bulldog. She loves to be outside, she has grown very anxious over the last year and has become more and more unpredictable with her behavior. We have two small children and she has done pretty well with both of the so far but her behavior is starting to become worrisome that I cannot trust her to be around them all of the time. We are looking for a home with a big outdoor space or land for her to run around on and be more free and less anxious. She has slowly over the last year learned that showing her teeth and squealing will get people to back away if there is something she does not want to do. We have been to our vet and have started her on an anxiety medication but not sure that it is working so far. She is fearful/scared but not aggressive.

I know sit and "shake" and am very food motivated to learn more! I have resource guarding issues with food (my foster mom is working on that). I would be best suited in a home without small children because of my guarding issue or is willing to continue working with me! I will be fully vetted prior to adoption.

Meet Brooks (Brindle, 8 years old) & Dunn (White, 6 years old)🐾🐾 These two sweet old gentlemen have been with us for almost four months now, and they’ve completely stolen our hearts. Brooks (the brown one) and Dunn (the white one) came to us from down south, and while we don’t know much about their past, it’s very clear they are wonderful, gentle souls. They are very bonded and truly do best as a pair... Where one goes; the other isn’t far behind. Both boys are neutered and up to date on core vaccines. They are fantastic with children, get along great with other dogs, and are even pretty respectful of cats. They’re the kind of dogs that just fit in. Despite their age, they’ve adapted beautifully to changes and new routines. They’re happy to lounge, explore the yard, and enjoy the simple things in life. They stick close while off-leash, have hearty appetites, and yes... they’re delightfully chunky 😄. Brooks is the goofier of the two and is OBSESSED with Kongs and chew toys. Dunn is a bit more reserved and thoughtful, but just as loving in his own quiet way. If we didn’t already have a full house of dogs, we would keep these two in a heartbeat. Their need for a new home is absolutely no fault of their own — we simply don’t have the space to add two large dogs long-term. Brooks & Dunn are truly special, and they deserve a calm, loving home where they can spend their golden years together. They’re perfect just as they are. 💙 These pets are microchipped, spayed/neutered & up to date on vaccinations. The adoption fee is $500 for the bonded pair. Burt is a 45# Australian Cattle Dog mix dressed in a Border Collie suit. Do not mistake this little sporty spitfire for a calm, thoughtful Border Collie. Burt's high-octane energy is what makes him fun. He believes he is invincible and can do anything. His foster family fondly calls him Crash. Roughly 3 years old, Burt is old enough to know better and too young to care. He learns quickly and loves a challenge! He likes to climb ladders, walk on his hind legs for apples, and forage in the garden. This makes him a good candidate for circus life or living on the lam. Burt also loves to swim and play tug. There is very little he doesn't like: he puts his all into everything he does. In Burt's foster home, he lives with two other dogs, cats, and teenage kids. Burt has learned how to be respectful with all of them. Burt is used to being crated at night and has excellent obedience and wonderful recall. He would love to continue learning in any setting: with an avid hiker, runner, or participating in rally, obedience, agility, dock diving... anything that involves action. He is the kind of dog who needs a person to be his leader and help him live up to his potential. Truly, the sky is the limit! Burt's perfect leader is fair and has experience with pushy/driven/busy dogs, time to work with him, and is not afraid to say no when the situation warrants it.
