Story
Chauncey 2 years old Neutered male Australian Cattle Dog 30 lbs Chauncey is unfortunately still on the hunt for a home of his own. We thought we had some solid leads but they haven’t worked out. His story didn’t start out great - his owner died and the family dumped him on the streets of rural KY. He then found himself at a shelter, posted 2 weeks in a row, but sadly no adopter or rescue stepped up. Understandably he became stressed in that environment and when we inquired about him, we found out he would be euthanized the next day. Some very dedicated people worked hard to get him here and he’s settled in well. In typical Heeler fashion he is very loyal to his foster mom and needs an adopter who will give him some patience while adjusting to a new person of his own - but once he chooses you, you’ll have a best friend for life! - Dog friendly, cats unknown - Crate trained - Appears to be potty trained - Walks great on leash, fenced yard not required - Super smart and obedient boy! - No young kids, please If you’re interested in adopting Chauncey please complete an application at www.rosebudrescue.com/adopt Long distance adoptions considered - must travel to us in the Buffalo, NY area for a meet and greet. *Please keep in mind that it is time consuming for our volunteers to process applications. Story
Garth 1 year old Neutered male Australian Cattle Dog mix 30-35 lbs Garth was adopted about a month ago and unfortunately returned today. His adopters were so sweet and kind and tried so hard to make things work, but unfortunately we learned that their living situation just wasn’t going to be right for him. He came out of a puppy mill around 10 months old, so he will take time to warm up to things. We have decided he will do best in a home with direct access to a fenced yard, and preferably another confident dog who can show him the ropes. - Dog friendly - Previously did well with cats - Crate trained, may be vocal while adjusting - Previously potty trained if kept on a good routine - Will walk on leash well once he’s comfortable - NEEDS a fully fenced yard for potty breaks - Would likely prefer a home without stairs If you’re interested in adopting Garth please complete an application at www.rosebudrescue.com/adopt Long distance adoptions considered at the adopters expense. *Please keep in mind that it is time consuming for our volunteers to process applications. Story
This was from one of her recent posts. You can edit and remove things if you need too 😊Are you tired of going to bathroom alone? Need an exercise buddy? Searching for a protector to save you from brooms, vacuums and loud machines? Looking to add a little excitement to your life maybe? Well, look no further! Vera is ready to find her forever home, but has a few requests…- Must provide copious amounts of belly rubs.- Allow her to become your second shadow.- Must play with her and alllllll the toys!- No other doggies, please!- Needs a couch and endless snuggles.- Snacks, She likes snacksNow for the important details: Vera prefers to be the queen of her castle and requires a home with no other dogs, please. She has not been tested with Cats and we are unsure of her background as she was found abandoned. Vera is potty and crate trained. She also does very well out of the crate when left alone. She is looking for a home with a fenced in yard and no kids due to her herding instincts. She will come with her big Jolly Ball which she absolutely LOVES and will play with it for hours outside if you let her.Another important note: Vera is very fearful of strangers and needs slow introductions outside of the home first or will need to be crated when guests are over. Her new adopter will also need to agree on attending private training lessons with Nick at Critical Canine Development which her Foster Mom has graciously offered to Sponsor to ensure her new owner(s) understand Vera and her needs when it comes to other dogs and meeting new people.Vera responds quickly with an E-Collar and it’s recommended to continue the use of one even if it’s just set to vibrate. She upholds the Cattle Dog Stubbornness and tries to be a Boss Lady, but with continued training and patience she will reward you with so much love in return. I cannot stress enough that she REALLY does love her people and literally just wants to play and be given pets/belly rubs all day, every day.Do you or someone you know fit her needs? If so, please visit our website and apply today! Please submit an Adoption Application here: www.rocthedogsrescue.com
