Story
Jasper is a handsome young and particularly friendly Red Heeler who weighs about 30 pounds. He loves people and prefers them to dogs. We originally adopted him summer 2022; at that time he was shy with new people at first. They returned him March 2023 because he didn't do well with their small dog. He is now super friendly with new people and doesn't know a stranger. He has a cuddly soft coat and is a great leash walker. We're told he's crate/house trained. We think he'd most likely do great as a single dog because he's dog-selective. However, if you have a dog that's skilled and good with dogs we'd like you to do a dog meet before adoption to make sure he's a good fit for your pooch! Like all herding dogs he's very intelligent; adopters should be willing and able to keep him busy! Also, with this herding breed, they are known for having a tendency to herd people as well as dogs and can get nippy when doing so - and that doesn't work well with little children. He would preferably not go home with any children under 10 years old. He hasn't lived with cats, so we don't know how he would do. His adoption fee is $125. If you are familiar with the breed or you just think Jasper sounds like a perfect fit for you, please complete a dog adoption application at www.sarges.org.May 30, 2023, 4:47 pm

Attention: This is a courtesy posting only! This pet is NOT available through Mountain Pet Rescue.  Please do NOT contact MPR for information about the pet or apply to adopt this pet on the MPR website.  Contact mlboyd928@gmail.com for more information or to adopt the pet.Meet Greyson! He is loyal, loving, energetic and eager to learn. Finding a new home for him is really hard for us but necessary for everyone. He needs a different environment more suitable for his needs. Greyson is a rescue dog we adopted in Minnesota after he was found on a reservation in South Dakota with a broken, mangled rear leg. The rescue organization in Minnesota amputated the leg shortly before we adopted him. He adjusted very well quickly and loves to run (very fast). Sometimes you'll see his nub moving because he has an itch that just needs to be scratched!Greyson came to live with us in October 2020. We had 2 other dogs, a cat and 2 kids. He did great and played (still does) hard with our smaller male dog. Never bothered the old female dog. Then he started resource guarding food. He has randomly been attacking the other male dog for several months. It doesn't work for us anymore. He needs to be an only dog and probably a farm dog with a job.  Greyson wants to please people, loves fetch and lots of petting. We underestimated our ability to be the right fit for him. I hope you won't be deterred by the fact that he's been aggressive with our other dog. He's a wonderful companion and needs someone who can commit a lot of one-on-one time with him. And lots and lots of exercise.Contact me today at mlboyd928@gmail.com to meet or learn more about Greyson! All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. He is smart, fun loving and full of energy. He is affectionate and loves to give and receive kisses! Auggie is house-trained and has gone thru the PetSmart training programs. Australian heelers are a working breed of dogs, and Auggie would make a wonderful addition to a home that could give him a job.  He runs on leash with me every morning, and is good with kids and other dogs. Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
River was abandoned in the national forest after we had a major ice/snow storm - myself along with animal control went out to try to get him and he was so terrified - after several hours I was able to gain his trust and he jumped into my car. River is a typical heeler - super super smart, loyal but the typical heeler attitude. This boy knows many commands, sit, stay, lay down, roll over, wait - he will not even eat until you tell him he can. His most favorite thing in the whole world to do is to play ball and he will play for hours and hours. He will need an adopter that has had "heeler" experience as they honestly are a breed of their own. But if you have experience with them - you also know how amazing they are. He would make an excellent hiking partner. Absolutely NO cats - and while he does well with dogs his size that are submissive - he would not mind being the only dog and this dog is going to be loyal to you without a doubt. He is estimated to be 3 years old and weighs 70 pounds. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, current on heartworm prevention, microchipped and is a very well trained dog. If River seems like the perfect dog for you, please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications - that is the first step in our process. We also require references and a home visit. His adoption fee is $250.00

Story
Attention all marathon runners, hikers, extremely active people, we have the dog for you!! Polly Pocket is a petite girl who very rarely slows down. Polly thoroughly enjoys a lot of exercising and loves to burn off the energy. Polly loves having dog friends to help burn off this energy so if you need your dog to play, Polly would be a fantastic addition. While Polly is seemingly petite and dainty, we would not use these words to describe her. Polly is a lovable goofball who is not exactly graceful, quite literally the opposite. We love this girl and know you will as well!

This animal is NOT available through Brother Wolf Animal Rescue. This is a courtesy listing only, so you will need to contact the current owner for more information or to adopt. PLEASE CONTACT THE OWNER AT: email: alexruiz926@yahoo.com Call or text: (828) 489-2328 Tucker showed up on our hobby farm. We took him in and have worked with him to make him part of the farm. He is not a good fit. He loves chicken, but not in the right way. He is very handsome and can be loving, he gets along with our dogs, but not sure about others, not tested with cats or children, he is protective of his territory, food, and treats. With more training and a stable home he could shine.
