Attention: This is a courtesy posting only! This pet is NOT available through Mountain Pet Rescue.  Please do NOT contact MPR for information about the pet or apply to adopt this pet on the MPR website.  Contact leighvidrine@gmail.com for more information or to adopt the pet.Rose is a 25 pound cattle dog mix. She is approximately 2 years old. She was found roaming the streets in Hickory, so we do not know much about her past. She is a silly and sweet dog. She likes to play with toys and is very affectionate. She is energetic as she is quite young, but doesn’t care much about running around in the yard. She would prefer to be by someone’s side. Although she loves her people, she is not good with other dogs. She needs to be in a home where she is the only dog. We are unsure about cats as we have not seen her around them, but I suspect she would not do great with them. She can be a little timid around men at first but will quickly warm up to them. She likse to go on walks although she could use some leash training. She is house-trained and well-behaved. I have not crated her since she has been with us, and we have not had any issues. She has grown accustomed to sleeping in the people bed where she likes to burrow under the blankets. She has been fully vaccinated and spayed and has had complete lab work done and has no health issues. She would make a great companion for a person or family who would appreciate her sweet personality and wouldn’t mind throwing a ball for her from time to time.Contact me today at leighvidrine@gmail.com to learn more about sweet Rose. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. November 28, 2024, 1:38 am

Story
Shiloh is a great dog. She would be perfect on a large plot of land with a family. She is high energy and explorative. She is a fast learner, food motivated and has many commands. Her release word from a stay or her asking for something is "Free". Shiloh was found with 5 siblings in a parking lot on a hot day in Raleigh a year and a half ago. Now she loves winter, and playing in water on hot days. She is great candidate for buttons, as she has learned to hold or offer affirmative barks on the word of the thing she wants. Housebroken, loving, emotionally aware, crate trained. I am just looking for a family that can provide her the attention, space and activity she needs to be fulfilled.

Story
Leo is a 9-year old Heeler mix and is genuinely the sweetest most loving guy! Leo loves to play, is well trained with lots of commands (including recall training), and is super cuddly. Leo loves the dog park and kids. He is a little barky, but I’m sure with enough time you could train him out of it. Why I’m rehoming: Leo has a lot of anxiety, and needs someone who is home more often than I am (I’m gone all day every day for work). He comes with all the supplies you’ll need & vet records, & i would like to meet you & know ab your schedule before you get my boy.

Story
River was abandoned in the national forest after we had a major ice/snow storm - myself along with animal control went out to try to get him and he was so terrified - after several hours I was able to gain his trust and he jumped into my car. River is a typical heeler - super super smart, loyal but the typical heeler attitude. This boy knows many commands, sit, stay, lay down, roll over, wait - he will not even eat until you tell him he can. His most favorite thing in the whole world to do is to play ball and he will play for hours and hours. He will need an adopter that has had "heeler" experience as they honestly are a breed of their own. But if you have experience with them - you also know how amazing they are. He would make an excellent hiking partner. Absolutely NO cats - and while he does well with dogs his size that are submissive - he would not mind being the only dog and this dog is going to be loyal to you without a doubt. He is estimated to be 4 years old and weighs 70 pounds. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, current on heartworm prevention, microchipped and is a very well trained dog. If River seems like the perfect dog for you, please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications - that is the first step in our process. We also require references and a home visit. His adoption fee is $250.00
