You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.PIXIE HAS A BEST FRIEND NAMED KEVIN BACON. KEVIN BACON IS A CAT.  PIXIE AND KEVIN GREW UP TOGETHER AND LOVE EACH OTHER. MAYBE CONSIDER ADOPTING TWO FOR THE PRICE OF ONE.   May be adopted together or separate Meet Miss Pixie! She is about 4 1/2 years old and has come into our care through very sad circumstances. Her mom had dementia that was progressing quickly and she was no longer able to care for herself or Pixie or her cat brother , Kevin Bacon II.    Pixie is an even-tempered, friendly but aloof medium-sized dog. She came into her foster home a week ago, and we are still getting acquainted. When Pixie first meets a stranger in an unfamiliar place, she is very scared. She may sniff you, but she will not want to be petted or to accept treats. Once she spends a little time with you, she opens up a bit and will happily accept treats.    Pixie's favorite thing in the whole world is to play fetch with her Kong ball. She could play for hours! She has wonderful ball manners and will bring the ball right back to you every time. When she has trouble finding the ball, she will stay on task until she sniffs it out.   Pixie sleeps happily in her dog bed inside her crate all night long. She walks well on the leash. She may pull a little, but will let up with just a word. She has done great with relearning to always potty outside. She does fine with other dogs and even cats, and she is not very vocal.    While Pixie does not adore cuddling or much petting, she loves to be near her people.   Pixie does not get sick while riding in a car, but she also hasn't had many great experiences that resulted from car rides. As of right now, she will willingly hop in and ride, but she is anxious and shaky while riding. I think with time and experience of the car not always removing her from familiarity (or taking her to the vet), she would have no problems with car rides.     If interested, you can easily fill out an adoption application by clicking here:  adoption application For those viewing on Petfinder, if you are interested in adopting this animal please click on More About Rose's Rescue, you may fill out adoption application from there. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi! I’m Adelaide, a 40 pound, 5 year old cattle dog. My friends call me Addy. My breed comes from Australia but the police found me wandering in Kent. I was scared and lonely. Happier now at my foster home which has a big yard and two playmates. It’s nice running and playing with them but my dream is my own family.  My foster mom always tells me how beautiful and good I am. I’m house trained, not food or toy aggressive, love car rides, and although somewhat timid, I warm up to people quickly.  Things to work on include pulling hard on a leash especiallywhen I see critters ahead and reacting when I meet new dogs or hear new sounds. I’m betting I can figure that all out with my new family.  Foster mom Donna here. Adoptions have slowed, so we got the chance to really know Addy. She is a lovely dog full of contrast and not just her beautiful black and white coat. She has high energy outside but calm inside. She can be independent but also affectionate. She easily entertains herself but is up for playing with the other dogs. Her ideal family will have a yard where she can run free and explore. The only real issue has been her reactiveness when meeting new dogs at stores or dog parks, but at home she has been a perfect little girl who fits into the family so very well.   If interested, you can easily fill out an adoption application by clicking here:  adoption application For those viewing on Petfinder, if you are interested in adopting this animal please click on More About Rose's Rescue, you may fill out adoption application from there. **WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Wagner. I'm about 2 years old and I weigh about 33 lbs. I was found as a stray in the Salineville area and I was brough to the pound. I had been running for about 2 weeks, but I was too afraid to come to anyone. Someone was eventually able to start feeding me, earn my trust and was able to catch me so I could be brought in to the pound. I have been doing great with all of the people and other dogs here at the pound. I am a sweet boy and I like to play. I am a good boy in my kennel and I was likely a house dog at some point. I still need some basic training, but I'm a good boy overall. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. Story
Isabella really needs to find her furever home. The shelter environment is very stressful for her. She’s a little shy to meet new people, but she warms up quickly with treats. She loves treats! Isabella is dog selective, and should be introduced to new animals with caution. She’s got lots of energy, and would love a human companion who will play with her and take her for long walks. Isabella wants to know, “Will you be my friend?”
