Story
Hello! I am Daisy. I am a lovely little lady! I came here after my previous owner was no longer able to keep me due to a housing/moving issue. I am very polite, gentle, and affectionate. I love to go on walks, but I can pull when I see cars (I go a little bonkers actually). I enjoy toys and sometimes like to tear them up, but I am also housebroken and crate trained. I like dogs and would need to meet any dogs I might spend time with in my new home. I cannot go home with cats or other small animals. I enjoy spending time with my people, but I do tend to `herd` kids (what, they look like sheep?) so teens - adults would be best. Because of my breed, I do require that I go home with a family who has previous herding dog experience. I love pets and all the attention you can share; wherever you are going, I`d like to come too. If you are looking for a wonderful little cuddle bug, come meet me today! If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog`s better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict. The Adoption Fee Includes:- initial canine distemper combination vaccination- first worming or stool check- rabies vaccination (for animals over 3 months of age)- 24 Petwatch microchipping- flea treatment/preventative- spaying or neutering-heartworm testingAdoption fee: $135.00Per state law, ALL ADOPTERS must purchase a non-refundable 2024 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and older. The cost of the license is $9.20. (Senior Citizen or Person with Disability-$7.20)Leash and collar included

Story
His name is Taz and he was purchased off Lancaster pets website. An Amish farm in Ohio. He is 26 months old. He needs to be rehomed because I am highly allergic to pets and many other things. We got him before I found out about my allergies. Plus my daughter and I are relocating separately by the end of summer. Hes 100% house trained. He never tries to run away. He is very dedicated to his family. He has separation anxiety so we’re looking for some experienced that can train and work with him

Story
Petunia is a sweet and smart, exuberant young doggie. We adopted her from a rescue in Texas where she had been found on the streets with her mom and two sisters. She is now about 14 months old. We have two other dogs and, in general, they all get along great, playing and running together. Petunia is quite well trained. She sleeps in a crate at night. She spent a month with a professional trainer and is a pleasure to walk, heeling well and not pulling. She is very affectionate, particularly good at giving hugs. She sometimes thinks she is a lap dog. We have found that having three dogs is a bit too much for us to handle especially since she can be aggressive with our 5 year-old golden retriever who doesn't know how to handle this. She is fine around other people including kids although she tends to jump up which can be a bit much. If you are looking for a loving, energetic doggie, Petunia would be a good choice.

**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Dottie. I'm about 1-2 years old and I weigh about 40 lbs. I was seized by the pound, along with 11 other dogs and puppies, after being found living in very neglectful conditions in the very cold winter weather. Most of us didn't even have shelter and those of us that did had less than ideal shelter and living conditions. I have not been a house dog in the past, nor have I ever been well socialized. I am a very sweet, but I am afraid of most everything. I do love other dogs and another friendly, well socialized dog would greatly help me. I am a little timid at first when meeting new people, but I am a very sweet girl and I warm up to you quickly. I LOVE to snuggle into you and get attention and affection. I will need a patient new family that can give me the basic training and socialization I need. In addition to basic training, I will also need work with potty training. Although I may need work to be the ideal dog, I promise to pay you back for your hard work in kisses and cuddles! If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. Meet the Southern Five! Our foster mom calls us the Southern Five because we all have sweet southern names—and personalities to match! We’re as sweet as Georgia peaches and as pretty as a field of wildflowers. We love to play tug-of-war, wrestle with our siblings, and explore everything around us. After all that fun, we’re big fans of cuddle time and snuggling up for a good nap. We’re expected to be around 30–40 lbs when full grown—just the right size for adventure and couch snuggles. Ready to bring a little Southern charm into your life? Adopt, don’t shop—our lives depend on it! Local adoption fee is $250(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)
