**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Leo. I'm about 5 years old and I weigh about 55 lbs. I was found as a stray in the Lisbon area and I was brought into the pound. I was very shy when I first arrived at the pound. It did take me some time to warm up to the people here, but now that I know them, I am a very sweet boy. I still take some time to warm up to new people, but once I get to know them, I am a good, sweet boy with them too. I love to run, play and go for nice walks. I also enjoy getting attention and affection once I am adjusted to you. I have been good around the other dogs that I've met here and I like to play with them too. I will need a patient family that will give me time to adjust and settle in to my new home, but once I do, I am sure to make you a wonderful new friend. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. Story
TEDDY 4YRS 30LBS MALE AUS CATTLE DOG LISA 2YR 20 LBS FEMALE MIX MUST HAVE ACD/HERDING BREED EXPERIENCE BONDED PAIR-Ever wanted a dog for you and a dog for your sig other but were afraid of clashing personalities? Well, not here because these two love each other, a LOT, so at least you know they get along perfectly and there is one for each of you. 2x the love!!!!!!!!!!!!! (And man, are they CUTE!) They travel often in the car with me for over an hour at a time - they do ride crated. Load up easy and ride quietly- unless we go through a drive through then Lisa has opinions about what she wants too. She likes to play ball, but not as intense as Teddy and will just let him get it and go find something else to do. They play and wrestle with each other and other dogs. Not overly rough but will get on ground with each other. They love to run laps in the yard chasing each other. They leave my uninterested dogs alone, as there is always someone else to play with. Lisa did not get along with my 1 male foster - just a little 10 pounder . Not sure who to started the war, but I did not leave them loose with each other * no actual fight/injury/contact ever occured. There was alot of noise 1 time, and they would grumble at each other when passing by each other's crates/run at work. Teddy is pretty easy going but doesn't like to be corrected. He will get bossy -verbal and pin someone who tries to But a sharp HEY from me and he will stop and walk away * never has been a fight or injury. Loves to play fetch and the other dogs do not challenge him to get the ball away from him. He would definitely destroy a stuffed toy if given the chance. They both love to chew on antlers/ nylabones/Benebone etc Teddy is a super cuddler and happy to hang on the couch or bed. Lisa loves attention too but takes a bit more to settle down at first. Both settle quickly and Quietly in a crate. They are both jumpers and when seeking attention. They have gotten better, but would need to be reminded of their manners going forward. We do not require a fenced BUT they would need a secure area to be able to run in and burn off energy weekly. Crate trained and housebroken   This animal is up to date on all shots, dewormed, and spayed/neutered. They have been heartworm tested (negative) and on prevention.  The adoption fee is $400.00 for the pair. Story
5 year old cattle dog. We just had a new baby and got a new puppy and she is having a hard time adjusting. Never been around cats. Does ok with male dogs but is very protective so may be best to be the only dog. Well behaved. Very sweet. A little lazy lol, she would just like to cuddle.

Story
COURTESY POSTING Aussie Heeler mix Oliver “Ollie” born 7-9-23. His current owner has had several serious health episodes since bringing Ollie home as a little puppy. His current owner thought she was helping a puppy, she was told he wouldn’t get very big & was unfamiliar with the breed. He is 15 months old. She estimates that Ollie is 50/ 60 pounds. Initially She brought Ollie home to her appartment which had a fenced dog run but recently moved to a much smaller apartment with no dog run due to her health & financial issues. Ollie is not happy and she knows he deserve more. He needs to run and play. She walks as much she’s able and he does ok on leash but it’s not enough for a young energetic pup. She has been unable to afford to have him neutered, his annual vaccines or grooming. She’d been cutting his nails but now that he’s grown to be too difficult for her also. He is crate trained but does have accidents since the move & change in food. It is not his fault that he’s having accidents. It’s because his food was changed to an inexpensive food which we are working on getting that changed immediately and providing good food. Ollie loves to play with toys, he loves attention and can be a bit needy if left alone too much. His walks help but he really needs an area where he can run again. She’s not sure how he is with other dogs but he lives with a cat. Dogs Unlimited Rescue will get Ollie neutered and up-to-date on vaccines for whoever adopts him. If you’re interested in adopting him, please complete an application on our website: https://www.dogsunlimitedrescue.org/adoptables.html

Story
A sweet 3-year-old Blue Lacy/Texas Lacy looking for a new home! Gracie is a gentle soul who thrives in a secure environment, ideally with a fenced-in backyard, and an active owner who enjoys long hikes/walks. Though she can be timid around strangers, she makes up for it with her protective nature and unwavering need for cuddles—she's a champion hugger! Gracie has a beautiful history of adventure, having traveled in vehicles across the country with me, camped in the mountains, and played on gorgeous beaches along the west coast. This adventurous spirit deserves to continue exploring the great outdoors. She has lived with other dogs and can thrive in a multi-dog household or as a solo doggo. However, if you have cats, please note that she can be uneasy. We need to find Gracie a loving home because I have a senior dog requiring more attention, and Gracie deserves just as much love and care. The adoption fee is FREE. (donations are appreciated)
