Story
Petunia is a sweet and smart, exuberant young doggie. We adopted her from a rescue in Texas where she had been found on the streets with her mom and two sisters. She is now about 18 months old. We have two other dogs and, in general, they all get along well, playing and running together. Petunia is quite well trained. She sleeps in a crate at night. She spent a month with a professional trainer and is a pleasure to walk, heeling well and not pulling. She is very affectionate, particularly good at giving hugs. She sometimes thinks she is a lap dog. We have found that having three dogs is a bit too much for us to handle especially since she can be aggressive with our 5 year-old golden retriever who does not know how to handle this. She is fine around other people including kids although she tends to jump up which can be a bit much. If you are looking for a loving, energetic doggie, Petunia would be a good choice.

If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. ___ Meet Brody – a 5 year-old, 65-pound neutered male Cattle Dog/Pitbull mix with the perfect mix of playful energy and easygoing charm. Currently in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS, Brody is ready to transport out of state once his forever family is approved. Brody is that rare, wonderful balance of being active enough to enjoy outdoor adventures and mellow enough to fully embrace a lazy day of Netflix and cuddles. Whether he’s chasing a toy in the backyard or melting into your side with his signature tongue-out smile, Brody is the definition of a lovable goofball. He doesn’t mind getting dressed up for holidays or themed events—he’s happy to strut in his rodeo best or festive costume, just as long as he’s doing it with his people. Brody has done best with friendly, laid-back female dogs and tends to prefer a more relaxed playmate. Because of his size and love for running, he may be a bit much for smaller or more timid dogs, but he’s also fully content being your one-and-only pup, as long as he has space to stretch his legs and get some zoomies out in the yard. A home with a secure backyard is ideal for him to enjoy some off-leash play. He’s a gentle sweetheart with people—always happy to meet new faces and has done well with the children he’s met. Because of his playful energy, we recommend a home with older, dog-savvy kids (8–10+) who are steady on their feet and understand how to respectfully interact with dogs. Brody would love nothing more than a buddy to play with, run around the yard, and then wind down with for snuggles. No cats for Brody, please, as he’s not quite sure how to share space with feline friends. When it comes to leash manners, Brody is a total gentleman. He walks calmly on a loose leash, stays close by, and enjoys a good stroll. He’s also fully housebroken and crate trained, and does wonderfully in his crate when left unsupervised, especially since he currently shares a home with other dogs. He loves his plush toys—especially giving their faces a little “customization” with his enthusiastic chomps! Brody is smart, food-motivated, and eager to please. He thrives in a home that offers structure, consistency, and encouragement. His foster mom has put in great work helping him polish his obedience skills, and he’s made huge progress! While he may still get a little excited around assertive male dogs, with calm guidance and continued positive experiences, he’s continued to show how well he can adapt. He would be a great match for someone with experience with Cattle Dogs, Pitbulls, or other intelligent working breeds. These dogs are deeply loyal, affectionate, and thrive when they have a purpose—whether that’s going on a hike, learning a new trick, or just being your loyal shadow. Brody doesn’t need a super active lifestyle, but he would love a couple of daily walks, light adventure time, and maybe a fun activity like scent work, agility, or basic obedience classes to keep his mind sharp and his bond with you strong. At the end of the day, Brody is a happy, affectionate, low-maintenance boy who’s easy to please. All he wants is a soft bed, a few toys, a cozy home, and someone to love him. He’s come so far during his time in foster care and is more than ready to start his next chapter with a family who sees how truly special he is. ___ ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org ☕🐾 Meet Earl Gray — aka “Eggy,” the Tiny Cup of Puppy Energy 🐾☕ Male • ~3–4 Months Old • Heeler Mix • Professional Explorer in Training Introducing Earl Gray, affectionately known as Eggy — a brave little pup who almost ran out of time at a crowded shelter, but thankfully someone noticed that this sweet boy still had a whole lifetime of puppy shenanigans left to deliver. Thankfully, he is now safe — and ready to show the world just how much love can fit inside one small, wiggly puppy. And trust us… Eggy is delivering. This floppy, curious little guy is the perfect mix of playful, affectionate, and just a little bit goofy. The world is brand new to him, and he is determined to check out every single corner of it. Stick on the ground? Investigation required. Toy on the floor? Immediate wrestling match. Another dog nearby? Time for professional-level playtime. Eggy absolutely loves other dogs and has a very sweet, gentle personality around them. He’s more of the polite “hey, wanna play?” type than the bossy type, which makes him an awesome future buddy for another pup. If there’s a dog around willing to wrestle, chase, or participate in a backyard zoomie session, Eggy is happily clocking in for duty. And because he’s part Heeler, there’s a smart little brain working overtime in that adorable head of his. The good news? Eggy is very food motivated, which means training is basically a fun game to him. Bring snacks and he’s ready to learn the world. He’s already doing great with crate training and potty training, and his crate has become his cozy little “Eggy headquarters” where he can relax and recharge after a long day of puppy adventures. Now let’s talk about the most important part of puppy life: shenanigans. Life with Eggy will likely include: • Zoomies that appear out of nowhere • Dramatic toy battles • Random puppy flops when he’s suddenly tired • Curious investigations of absolutely everything • And a whole lot of happy tail wags Despite his rough start, Eggy has a brave and loving little heart that just needs a family to keep helping him grow and gain confidence. With patience, kindness, and a little guidance, he’s going to blossom into an incredibly loyal, fun-loving companion. If you’re looking for a pup who will bring laughter, energy, adventure, and a whole lot of love into your life, Eggy might just be your perfect match. Because every good day really does start with a cup of Earl Gray. ☕ 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let Eggy bring the fun, the zoomies, and the puppy love home. 🐶💛

If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Meet Polly, a 38lbs Cattle Dog Retriever mix with the heart of a puppy and the sweetest personality. She’s spayed, vaccinated, and fully up to date on all of her preventatives, so she’s ready to head straight into her forever home. Polly has a gentle, go with the flow nature and loves being part of whatever her people are doing. Polly is a forever puppy at heart! She absolutely loves toys, enjoys playing with other dogs, and has a bouncy, happy energy when it’s time for fun. If another dog wants to play, Polly is always happy to join in. She’s also been around kids aged 6 and up and has done well with them. We have no history on cats. While Polly enjoys playtime, she’s actually a pretty low energy girl overall. She’s just as happy to relax and cuddle as she is to toss around a toy. She’s affectionate, snuggly, and loves being close to her people. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but she warms up quickly once she realizes she’s safe. Polly has great house manners in many ways she’s fully house trained and crate trained for up to six hours. She does well in the car and has no issues with resource guarding or food aggression. She’s currently working on her leash manners and may pull sometimes, but since she’s on the smaller side she’s easy to manage while she continues learning. Like many young dogs, Polly is still figuring out some of the rules of home life and will need a patient adopter who is willing to keep guiding her. Because she can sometimes get into things if left loose, she should be crated when unsupervised. With consistency and routine, she’ll continue to blossom. Overall, Polly is a truly lovely dog who will thrive in just about any home. Whether it’s a family, a couple, or someone looking for a loyal companion, Polly has so much love to give. With a little time to settle into a new routine, she’ll make a wonderful and devoted best friend. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. ___ Meet Mylo – a 4-year-old, neutered, 44-pound Cattle Dog mix with a tongue that just can’t be tamed and a heart that’s even bigger. Currently in a foster home in San Antonio, TEXAS, Mylo is ready to transport out of state once his forever family is approved and ready to fall in love. Let’s start with the obvious: Mylo has a perma-blep. That’s right—his tongue is just a little too long for his mouth, and it’s almost always peeking out like he’s mid-lick or permanently saying, “hi.” A vet has checked it out and confirmed there’s nothing wrong—he was just born with extra tongue and endless flavor to sample. It doesn’t cause him pain, but it does mean he occasionally needs a little extra hydration. He also has a slight protruding bone at the base of his rib cage—again, no cause for concern, just more proof that this boy was truly “born this way.” We like to say he’s one part goofball, one part model, and 100% original. Mylo is an affectionate, silly, and curious guy who loves to play and explore. He has a bit of that classic Cattle Dog energy—he thrives with daily activity, enjoys long walks, and loves a good romp in the yard. He plays well with dogs of all sizes and currently lives in a multi-dog home with pups ranging from tiny Chihuahuas to an 80-pound Boxer mix. He does well reading other dogs’ social cues and adjusts his play accordingly. He’s also very vocal when he plays or gets excited—growling, grunting, and making silly noises are just part of his charm. Once you get to know him, you’ll realize it’s just his voice, not a sign of anything aggressive. He enjoys meeting new dogs on walks, though he might sound a little intense at first—again, that vocal streak—but he’s friendly and well-mannered. He’s shown some interest in chasing cats, so to be safe, a feline-free home is best. Mylo has met children of various ages through his foster family and has done well overall. Due to his occasional jumping and enthusiasm, we recommend a home with older kids (10+) who are steady on their feet and understand how to interact with an active dog. He’s loving and playful, and with continued positive training, will only improve his manners. This boy LOVES walks and has a zest for getting out and about. He can pull on leash when excited, so a no-pull harness or Gentle Leader may help make walks more enjoyable. He’s fully house trained and has been trusted to stay loose when unsupervised, usually sticking to his gated area and dog bed like a gentleman. While he hasn’t been crated in his foster home, he’s done very well with the freedom and would likely thrive in a home where someone is around more often than not, or with a flexible schedule. Mylo is currently fed separately from the other dogs—not because he’s aggressive, but because he prefers not to share his snacks or special treats. (Honestly, who among us does?) With his people, though, he’s playful, cuddly, and incredibly affectionate. He greets his foster dad with enthusiastic hops and playful vocalizations, looking like the happiest dog in the world—with his tongue hanging out and his tail wagging in full swing. He’s also very smart and responsive to redirection. He listens when called, loves being praised, and wants so badly to be a good boy. Like many herding breeds, he thrives on routine and benefits from clear communication and a bit of structure. He may occasionally flinch at quick movements or new objects (like a broom), so a patient home that understands his background and lets him settle in at his own pace will help him feel his best. Here’s what Mylo is hoping for in his forever home: - A moderately active family with a yard or access to one where he can run, sniff, and sunbathe - A few good walks a day or fetch sessions to burn energy and keep him happy - A family who will give him tons of love, belly rubs, and attention - People who embrace his quirky personality and celebrate his uniqueness - Continued support with basic manners like jumping and treat-taking (he’s already working on it!) - A home with older kids (10+) and maybe a friendly dog buddy or two - And most importantly: a soft place to land and be loved for exactly who he is Mylo is a one-of-a-kind pup with a silly smile, a loyal heart, and so much love to give. He’s smart, affectionate, endlessly goofy, and ready to find a family who sees his magic. If you’re looking for a lovable sidekick who will keep you laughing, snuggling, and moving, Mylo might be the perfect match for you. ___ **Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌿🐾 Meet Bergamont — aka “Bergy,” the Sweetest Little Cuddlebug Around 🐾🌿 Male • ~3–4 Months Old • Heeler Mix • Professional Snuggle Apprentice Say hello to Bergamont, lovingly known as Bergy, a 3–4 month old Heeler mix — a brave little pup who almost ran out of time at a crowded shelter, but thankfully someone noticed that this sweet boy still had a whole lifetime of puppy shenanigans left to deliver. Thankfully, he is now safe — and ready to show the world just how much love can fit inside one small, wiggly puppy. Bergy is the kind of pup who melts hearts without even trying. He’s got a gentle soul, soft eyes, and a personality that leans heavily toward “please pet me forever.” Now, Bergy may take a little moment to settle in when he first arrives somewhere new. After his rough start in life, he just likes a minute to make sure everything is safe. But once he realizes he’s among friends? Oh boy… that sweet personality comes shining out like the sun. Suddenly you’ll have a full-time cuddle assistant who thinks the best place in the world is curled up right next to you (or partially on you… personal space is optional when you’re this cute). But don’t be fooled — Bergy is still very much a playful puppy. His daily routine includes: • Investigating every toy like it’s a scientific experiment • Participating in backyard zoomie practice • Wrestling politely with dog friends • Exploring the yard like a tiny wilderness adventurer • Dramatic puppy naps after all that hard work Bergy has a gentle, slightly submissive personality with other dogs, which makes him a wonderful playmate and an easygoing companion for a multi-dog home. He’s also doing fantastic with potty training and crate training, and he actually sees his crate as his cozy little safe zone where he can recharge after a busy day of puppy activities. And here’s the secret to Bergy’s heart: snacks. This boy is very food motivated, which makes training both fun and effective. Bring treats and he’ll happily attend all your training sessions. Bergy is the perfect blend of puppy playfulness and cuddle buddy sweetness. The family lucky enough to adopt him will get a loyal little sidekick who loves adventures during the day and curling up close when the day is done. Expect life with Bergy to include: • Puppy zoomies • Toy explosions across the living room • Cozy cuddle sessions • Silly puppy moments that make you laugh out loud • And a best friend who just wants to be near his people 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org and give Bergy the loving forever home he’s been waiting for. 🐾💛

Heartworm Preventative: 13th of every month Flea and Tick: 13th of every month Yoshi likes women best. Yoshi is very leary of men, he needs several introductions to new men in his life to know he can trust them. Most women he meets he makes up with after a short time, some he likes immediately. He was treated roughly by a small child and father. He will not be adopted out to a family with children as that would not be fair to the children or Yoshi. Active and likes to play. Very smart. Loves attention from those that he trusts. He gets along with all of us here at Orphans even the men, but he needed time to get to know you. NEEDS AN ADOPTER WITH AUSSIE EXPERIENCE AND FENCED IN YARD. Bite History: Prior history to coming to us. And bite history with us. PA 1137
