Story
Pinto is one of a litter of puppies born to a very pregnant Australian Cattle Dog that took refuge at a ranch in the country. She was actively giving birth to the puppies on the day we took her in. The mother is a full-blooded Australian Cattle Dog, and we have a consensus that the father was probably a Great Pyrenees. Pinto is now over months of age and weighs around 40 pounds. Pinto and his siblings are all very sweet and gentle pups. They are a bit shy towards new people but warm up quickly. Pinto loves toys and treats, and wrestling with his siblings. Pinto is a bit shy. He is still very young and will need obedience training, house training, and socialization. Pinto has never been around cats but would probably get along with them if properly introduced. Pinto is a very sweet, gentle little boy that must be protected from rough treatment by children and big dogs that might hurt her. Pinto must be in the house as a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and it would be best if he had a secure, fenced yard to explore and play. Pinto is healthy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, (DAPPvL2, Bordetella, Rabies), and microchipped. He has been started on, and is receiving monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Pinto's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport via Rescue Road Trips for pickup in Washington or New Stanton PA. He is being fostered in Texas and we cannot afford to send him north until after he is adopted. Story
Meet Corduroy! This friendly fellow exhibits many of the herding breed traits: energetic, extremely bright, vocal and devoted to his people.  Corduroy's family has made the difficult, yet loving decision to help him find a new home that can provide with the attention he deserves.  Corduroy is medium size cattle dog mix, neutered male and up-to-date on rabies vaccination. His birthday is in 2017.  He lives comfortably with a beagle, several chihuahuas and birds.  Cats are unknown.  Corduroy has mixed reviews on unfamiliar people and can be vocal towards other dogs, but is very receptive to positive reinforcement, food puzzles and treats.  Slow introductions with any resident animals would be an important first step.  A confident, yet calm, dog pal in the home may be a help to Corduroy as he transitions.  Corduroy needs a home that is familiar with the temperament of herding breeds and can provide the level of activity and enrichment he needs to be the best dog.  He loves to take car rides and would make an excellent running or hiking partner.   This is a courtesy post to help facilitate a direct home-to-home adoption - Corduroy has not been formally surrendered to Animal Advocates.  For more information on Corduroy, please contact abigailjerri94@gmail.com . Story
Mac is a sweet boy who knows what he wants! He does love to chase and play with animals smaller than him. Due to this we suggest that he does not go home to a family that has cats or things like chickens. Squirrels watch out! This little guy can move! Mac also enjoys being the only dog. He would prefer a home where he is the center of attention and can soak up all the puppy love from his people. He is a lazy boy and does enjoy snoozing and spending time on the couch napping but at the same time can have his moments where he is ready to go. He is housebroken and does just fine in a crate! If he sounds like the boy for you then don't wait! Story
Brownie is a happy, energetic dog that loves everyone. He does well with other dogs his size and larger, we have not tested him with smaller dogs. He is better suited for a home with no more than one other dog. He tests limits with cats but ultimately is scared of assertive cats. He is high energy and needs a job to do, he is not a lazy dog that just lays around all day. He is kennel trained and knows how to sit and has gotten good at staying as well. He needs work with being on a leash but is happy to listen and learn - he just wants to please everyone! Although he loves small children (and everyone else), he doesn't quite realize his size and energy. He would be well suited for a home with an older child or active adult.

Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Gracie has been with our rescue for 2 years. Gracie is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so she is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. Gracie was saved from a fast kill, small-town dog pound. She is a Blue Lacy Mix, 3-1/2 years old, and weighs 40 pounds. She has the distinctive Blue Lacy bark. We discovered that she had already been spayed and had a microchip (the pound did not scan her). The contact for her microchip had "rehomed" her, and that person never updated the chip. Her original owner says that she had to rehome Gracie because she was growling at the kids. We think this was probably because she was guarding a treat. At first, she grumbled at her foster mom, but it was a bluff and she has never done anything more than grumble. Now that she is comfortable and knows that food and treats are plentiful, she no longer cares if we move her food bowl or pick up a treat. Gracie still guards her food and treats from other dogs, so we feed and give her treats in a separate room from the other dogs. Gracie is fully housetrained, crate trained, and knows how to sit. She barks when she wants to go out. Gracie knows how to walk on a leash, but does pull if she is excited. Gracie is fairly low-energy and is a couch potato that loves to be in the house. Gracie likes to run and explore, ride in the car, and go for walks. She also likes to be outside to sun herself, bark at squirrels, digs a little, and take the occasional dip in the wading pool. Gracie loves scratches and pets. She gives kisses and loves butt scratches. We've seen her play by throwing her chew bone in the air and chasing it. Gracie will play with other dogs, and she does best with male dogs. She does well with some females and doesn't like others. She may be initially aggressive with a new dog then is okay with them after a few days. Gracie is now a bit on the chunky side since she spends most of the day in a room separate from dogs that she doesn't get along with. She would love a home where she gets lots of walks to help her regain her girlish figure. Gracie would do best as an only dog or paired with a male since she gets along best and likes to play with male dogs. Again, Gracie does guard her food and treats from other dogs, so she must always be separate from other dogs when she gets food and treats. Gracie would be a fabulous companion for a single person or a couple with older children. Gracie must be in the house as a loved member of the family. She must be walked on a leash and have a securely fenced yard to run and play. Gracie is healthy. She is spayed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. She is negative for heartworms and receiving monthly heartworm and flea preventative. Gracies adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport via Rescue Road Trips for pickup in Washington or New Stanton PA. She is being fostered in Texas and we do not have the resources to send her north until after she is adopted. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Ohso is getting ready to turn 3 this summer. She is a velcro dog and loves to be around her family. She is a pure Aussie at heart and loves to herd. She regularly plays with her herding ball outside and likes to lay in the sun. She likes going to the dog park and play with the other dogs and get some energy out. She has been around older kids 12+ all of her life. However, she has had limited exposure to younger kids in her home. Given she likes to herd we would be looking for a home with older kids or family experienced with herding dogs. She has attended some training classes and knows a good bit of commands and tricks. She is eager to learn and likes be challenged to learn new things. She is a big fan of dog puzzles. She likes having a space she can runaround in but also loves curling up next to her family.

See more adoptable puppies at h2erescue.org! Hi my name is Petie. I am a 10 week old neutered male Mini Australian Shepherd / Australian Shepherd MIX. I am recovering from Lice. My new parents must promise to bathe me in the special shampoo that will come home with me. No one can get it from me as long as I get my last bath treatment. My mom is an Australian Shepherd and my dad is a Mini Australian Shepherd. I think I came from a wanna be breeder. I am up to date on my shots. Please go to our personal website at, h2erescue.org and fill out an application under my profile "I'm Interested". Our adoption fee is $526. This is used to cover vet care, vaccinations, food etc. We are a rescue group, not a shelter and we foster these animals at our home. Since we are a rescue, we can not guarantee the size or the breeds of the dog. We have the adoptions at Local Pet. 415 Gettysburg St. #1 Pittsburgh, PA 15206 on Wednesdays, but during these times, we are uncertain when we are able to have these events. We can meet you at our home base Adoption Center. The address is 3616 Williams Lake Rd, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663. Please Google this address first before you fill out an application, to make sure you can make the drive to us. Remember we show by appointment ONLY. Local Pet is all about Rescue, we thank them for allowing us to have adoption days there. One of their many specialties is pet sitting while families are away for birds, reptiles, and pocket pets. They are very experienced and reasonably priced. Plus they have food, treats, and toys for your furry friends as well.
