Reiki is here to round up your heart and keep the adventure rolling! If you’re looking for a dog who knows how to live on the edge (in the most lovable way possible), Reiki is your guy. He’s got a heart full of adventure and a nose that's always ready for the next exploration. Sure, he takes his time to warm up to new faces—but once he’s comfortable, Reiki is all in for cuddles and will happily claim your lap as his favorite spot. With a strong cattle dog spirit, Reiki has the typical herding instincts—always moving, ever watchful, and turning any activity into a lively mission. He loves other dogs and really lights up around canine friends, so we’d love to see him go home with a well-matched dog buddy to help him settle in and keep the fun going. His favorite things include chasing his flirt pole, watching the world go by like a true people-watching pro, and working for treats—he’s incredibly food motivated and eager to learn. A backyard would be perfect for him to practice his leash skills and get in some daily zooms. Reiki is looking for an active, patient family who will appreciate his unique spark and give him the time and space to adjust—and once he does, you'll wonder how you ever lived without him. Ready to let Reiki show you just how amazing he is? Give us a call at (401) 846-8276 or come meet him at our Adoption Center. Be warned: he’s got a knack for stealing hearts! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Thank you for checking out our wonderful orphans. We try to post videos for each pet so you can really get to know them. If you would like to find out more please email or call Diane at... diane@ulpr.org or 870-577-3744. Meet Haumea – The Heart You Don’t Want to Overlook Haumea may not turn every head at first glance. She’s not the kind of dog most people would call “fancy,” and she doesn’t need to be. Her beauty lives deeper — in her eyes, in her steady presence, and in the gentle joy that radiates from her heart. If you pause for just a moment and truly look at her, you’ll see it — the quiet grace of a soul that’s pure, loyal, and endlessly loving. Haumea stays right by your side, as if she’s always known that companionship is life’s greatest gift. Her heart is joy in its most honest form. She gives it freely and asks for nothing more than a place to belong. Whoever looks past the surface and chooses this beautiful girl will gain more than a dog — they’ll gain comfort, laughter, and a love so constant it will change their days forever. Adopting Haumea won’t just be a good decision. It will be the best one you ever make.   Please email us at diane@ulpr.org and request an application. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 9, 2025, 1:23 am

Adoption Donation  $ 699     Located: RI (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details) Age: 2.5 mos. old as of 12/8/25 Weight: 11 lbs.   Meet Ghosty boy, who is being fostered in Pawtucket, RI. Ghost is currently 2.5 months old and about 11 lbs. His mom was a rat terrier mix but his dad was clearly a bigger dog because we guess these pups will end up in the 40 or 50 lb range- pretty much the perfect size! Ghost is just the sweetest little guy you will ever meet. He wants to say hi to everyone and be their best friend. He is being fostered with lots of other dogs and his litter mate so he is getting constant, healthy socialization. He is doing so well acclimating to life in a family and is getting exposed to so many things- blenders, car rides, dance parties :) He even went Christmas tree shopping and to the school bus stop with his foster family. Ghost LOVES kids and is very ginger with his little baby mouthiness. He is also very gentle with the resident cat. Ghost is smart and happy-go-lucky. He is as wonderful as he is cute and would make a great addition to any family!     *** As part of the adoption donation this pup will participate in FOA's spay/neuter program or other programs available through FOHA. All puppies will have age appropriate vaccinations.  All small Pups need to be adopted by by children old enough to understand how to be respectful and gentle in handling a small young pup. ***     If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website   www.fohari.org and email my foster parent for more information:    Cassanired@gmail.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.       Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Story
Beau is a sensitive soul whose world has been turned upside down. Beau was very loved in his former home but he found himself at the animal shelter when one of his owners passed away and the other was unable to continue caring for him. At 5 years old, he is full of energy, playful and enjoys the company of those who share his zest for life. Beau is not immediately comfortable with new people but when introduced by someone he knows and trusts, he warms up quickly and is happy to hang with the new member of his circle. Beau has not lived with or been around young children and he has not lived with other dogs. We're still figuring out his feelings about other dogs. Beau would very much like to chase squirrels, rabbits and even birds so we won't be placing him in a home with cats or small animals. Beau is neutered and current on vaccinations.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application   HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see   HERE   Age: 1 year (as of 5/18/25) Weight: 50 lbs (as of 10/14/25) Location: RI This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Meet Patch, a young, sweet, and playful pup full of life and love. We are thinking Patch is a Heeler mix. He is nervous with new people, but once he is comfortable he develops a strong bond! His friendly demeanor makes him a joy to be around, and his goofy antics will keep you entertained for hours. Patch is not just fun; he's also smart! He is a great houseguest as he is house trained and crate trained.  He has been left alone free roaming without destruction.  He is good with older school age kids and other dogs, however, Patch would do best in a home without cats. Patch is a lovely dog in the home and in the yard with a quiet, predictable lifestyle.  He would love a home that understands that he is more of a homebody/introvert than the life of the party. Patch would love a fenced yard so he can run and play safely. He would also enjoy a playful, social other dog(s), but will be equally happy as your one and only.  If you're looking for a gentle and intelligent companion to add joy and laughter to your days, Patch is your perfect match! Medical Note:  This dog is being treated/has been treated for heartworm disease.  Untreated heartworm disease can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs and arteries, and can affect the dog’s health and quality of life even after the parasites are gone, possibly presenting as medical complications and/or new conditions in the future.  Whenever possible, SOSARL advocates for following the American Heartworm Society guidelines for heartworm disease treatment as the safest and most effective methods; the active portion of this treatment protocol can take up to four months to complete.  Once treatment is completed and the dog tests negative for microfilaria, the dog will be cleared to resume normal activity and will be ready to travel north and be placed into an adoptive home.  This dog showed no symptoms of heartworm disease before or during treatment, and is expected to complete treatment with no complications.  Please ask your Adoption Counselor for the specific treatment protocol used for and current status of this dog.  Please check with your vet if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history. Medical Note:  This dog has tested positive for exposure to ehrlichia.  This does not mean that this dog had/has an active infection of ehrlichiosis, only that the dog was exposed or infected in the past. This dog is/has been asymptomatic while in SOS care and is being treated/has been treated preventatively with a 28-day course of doxycycline.  This dog is ready for adoption, though may continue to test positive for exposure to ehrlichia for some time.  Please see here for more information on ehrlichia, and please check with your vet before you apply to adopt this dog if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see   HERE   for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:   Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org)   **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 26, 2025, 9:59 am
