You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Thank you for checking out our wonderful orphans. We try to post videos for each pet so you can really get to know them. If you would like to find out more please email or call Diane at... diane@ulpr.org or 870-577-3744. Meet Haumea – The Heart You Don’t Want to Overlook Haumea may not turn every head at first glance. She’s not the kind of dog most people would call “fancy,” and she doesn’t need to be. Her beauty lives deeper — in her eyes, in her steady presence, and in the gentle joy that radiates from her heart. If you pause for just a moment and truly look at her, you’ll see it — the quiet grace of a soul that’s pure, loyal, and endlessly loving. Haumea stays right by your side, as if she’s always known that companionship is life’s greatest gift. Her heart is joy in its most honest form. She gives it freely and asks for nothing more than a place to belong. Whoever looks past the surface and chooses this beautiful girl will gain more than a dog — they’ll gain comfort, laughter, and a love so constant it will change their days forever. Adopting Haumea won’t just be a good decision. It will be the best one you ever make.   Please email us at diane@ulpr.org and request an application. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 9, 2025, 1:23 am

Story
Beau is a sensitive soul whose world has been turned upside down. Beau was very loved in his former home but he found himself at the animal shelter when one of his owners passed away and the other was unable to continue caring for him. At 5 years old, he is full of energy, playful and enjoys the company of those who share his zest for life. Beau is not immediately comfortable with new people but when introduced by someone he knows and trusts, he warms up quickly and is happy to hang with the new member of his circle. Beau has not lived with or been around young children and he has not lived with other dogs. We're still figuring out his feelings about other dogs. Beau would very much like to chase squirrels, rabbits and even birds so we won't be placing him in a home with cats or small animals. Beau is neutered and current on vaccinations.

Story
Curly is an adorable young Cattle Dog Mix who is eagerly looking for a forever home. With her calm and quiet demeanor, Curly has won the hearts of everyone she meets. She possesses a loving nature especially once she forms a bond with her human companions.  How did Curly come into the ArkanPaws program? There is a video of her walking across a bridge with several other abandoned dogs in an area known for dumping unwanted pets. The ArkanPaws volunteer returned with live traps and by the next morning she was secured. At first, she was afraid and it took about one week to win her trust. She still is shy when initially meeting strangers but warms quickly when she feels safe.  One of Curly's most endearing qualities is her gentle and sweet nature. She approaches life with a relaxed attitude, always ready to take things at her own pace. While she may initially be reserved, it doesn't take long for her to warm up to people, and once she does, her affection knows no bounds. She enjoys being petted and following people around the yard How did Curly get here name? Her cute little tail is what she is named for! Her appearance is very unique with her dappled short coat and corkscrew like tail. Her coat sheds very little and is easy to maintain. Curly will do best with older kids who are eight years old and up. She’s learning to like toys and has a zest for treats. With proper interaction, she has the potential and curiosity to engage in play. She's doing very well with the cats  Curly is curious, but does not advance, or act aggressive in any way with them.  She’s crate trained and still trying to master potty training. Curly walks very well on a leash. She is fully vetted: spayed, microchipped, all core vaccinations, and has been examined by a licensed veterinarian. Her current weight is a healthy 38 pounds. Her adoption fee is $450, which covers her transport and all of the vetting she has received. She has been tested for heartworms and the result was negative. ArkanPaws is not licensed in the state of Massachusetts and unable to deliver there. ArkanPaws is a non-profit agency and all adoption fees supports other pets in need.  ##1771554##

Story
At 12 years young, Callie is a Blue Heeler who proves every single day that age is just a number. Bursting with playful energy and a spark that never seems to dim, she’s the kind of dog who can turn an ordinary moment into an adventure. Whether she’s chasing a favorite toy, trotting proudly by your side, or inventing her own games, Callie brings joy with every wag of her tail.   Beneath all that fun-loving enthusiasm lies her greatest trait: loyalty. Callie is a steadfast companion — always watching, always ready, and always devoted. She’s the dog who knows your footsteps, reads your moods, and sticks close simply because that’s who she is: a true partner and friend.   Callie hasn’t met a person she doesn’t love and gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats alike. She is house- and crate-trained, incredibly smart, and eager to please.   With her bright eyes, sharp mind, and boundless affection, Callie is more than a pet. She’s family — a guardian of good times and a beautiful reminder that the best companions come with four paws and a whole lot of heart.   ##2612152##
