Story
Look at this beauty - she's been waiting a long timeWe believe the reason she's not gained any attention is because at first she was considered a flight risk but not more - she's so much more comfortable in her foster home she's not going anywhere until her new forever home is found. She's also doing great with her leash walking which was a roadblock before - again, foster family prevails and she's got it down!!She is a beautiful girl, loves toys, treats, and playing with her housemate mix of fosters and residents. This beautiful and intelligent cattle dog mix is ready to find her forever family.Noelle is crate trained, going in willingly and settling down quickly. She is also housetrained. Noelle can now be trusted uncrated at home when alone for short periods of time. Noelle would do best in a house with a confident dog sibling as she loves them. Cats - sure thing Dogs - even more so - she loves them.Sweet Noelle was a stray who was running around in the very frigid weather of December 2022, very, very pregnant. A southern foster home was secured for her, but Noelle chewed through her leash and ran as she was being dropped off there. For almost a week, rescuers frantically searched for her and her impending litter. She was finally found under a local house, where she had already given birth to 11 puppies!!! This time, she was brought safely to her foster home along with her family. Story
This gorgeous lady was found as a stray in a very rural area of Tennessee. The details of her past are unknown. Rosie's story began the day she was rescued. While in foster care, Rosie lived with dogs of all shapes and sizes. Rosie is not a big player but enjoys a good tug-of-war. Sometimes, Rosie becomes startled when resident dogs get rowdy. When that happens, she reacts appropriately with a grumble. Rosie has been introduced to cats and did well with laid-back cats that ignored her. More reactive cats experienced a game of chase. Overall, Rosie was very tolerant even when the cat hissed at her. Rosie is adaptable, well-mannered, and intelligent. She kennels on command and will bark if she is ready to get out. If left out, she is a great house guest, potty trained (with a doggie door), and does not get into anything. She rarely gets on the furniture and sleeps on the floor beside the bed. Rosie minds well on a leash, keeps tension at first, and will loosen when asked. Her hereditary breed traits kick in when Rosie gets excited, so watch your ankles! She can be mouthy and a bit rough when her humans play with her, but it is truly all fun and games. Rosie's ideal adopter includes an active caretaker who enjoys an active outside healthy lifestyle within the herding breed experience. If you find cattle-dog traits redeeming values, this is your dream dog!Name: Row Row RosieBreed: Cattle Dog MixSex: FemaleAge: 2 years  (estimated)Weight: 43lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Completed treatment Microchipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 12Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: Yes, only if dog-savvy and non-reactive to dogs presenceAdoption Fee: $400.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  New EnglandIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Roo was found in an abandoned apartment complex in Memphis, she had her eight 6 week old puppies safe and sound in a depression in the ground under some old tires and furniture. She had been getting fed and watered by a kind woman in the neighborhood for four to five years, likely having many litters of puppies over time in the brutal Southern heat and winters. She and her eight puppies were saved and brought to her fosters 2 years ago where she remains today. Roo understandably had major trust issues with humans, but has really come out of her shell. She loves her pack of resident/foster dogs (including her son who became our first foster fail), has become much more social with her foster family and with frequent visitors. She has zero interest in cats, she would do well as an only child or with other furkids. She has waited over two years for her forever home to live out her years, she has come so far in that time. She walks well on the lead, but has not been tested extensively around busy streets. She has not been keen on crate training, but will stay in one place on her favorite couch or chair all night long. This semi-senior girl - perfection! Story
Those eyes!  Tammy, what have you seen during your time on the run?Tammy, you’ve got diamond eyes!Tammy has quite the story to tell! Living on the run in a tough neighborhood exposed her to all sorts of experiences, both good and bad. But through it all, she seems to have maintained her intelligence and resilience. Those "diamond eyes" of hers likely hold tales of survival, perseverance, and maybe even moments of kindness amidst the challenges.Despite her tough past, Tammy's desire for affection and touch shows just how much love she has to give. It's heartwarming to hear that she adores being petted and stroked, perhaps seeking the comfort and security she might have missed out on in her earlier days. Her dream home, where she can feel safe, loved, and appreciated, seems like the perfect place for her to finally settle down and enjoy the comforts of a caring family. With her deep sweetness and intelligence, Tammy surely has a lot of love to offer to those lucky enough to welcome her into their lives.Name: TammyBreed: Cattle Dog/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 3 years (estimated)Weight: 40 lbs (approx)Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: UnknownGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $500.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  Memphis  TN   IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England. Little munchkins found behind a trash can by a vet tech in her front yard -  I'd say they were pretty lucky after an initial terrible start.  No one knows how they landed there and mama was nowhere to be found. They were whisked into the clinic and checked out -  thankfully they were found to be in good shape.  First vaccines are now on board and once they get their second, they can travel to New England.Typical puppies - having a blast playing and getting into trouble - fosters are working on housetraining and crate training but we make no promises!!They are getting socialization with the other dogs in the home and family members are having fun playing with them too.Her foster mom says; "From he beginning this baby hasn't known the word bashful"! "She's a spunky girl with a big personality, all and all the goofball of the pups". "she is a quick nap away from hours of fun." "She does amazing on leash already, she's right there with the big dogs when its comes to play"!
