She is fun loving and not yippy like a lot of Terriers Gabby can scale a regular size fence for fun as she has Kangaroo in her DNA. Story
Hi! My name is Gretchen. I am a really sweet girl and I am just looking for my furever home! I walk on a leash very well, and I like to lean up against your leg when you are standing still! I am about 3 years old (born around 2019), weigh about 38 pounds, and I love dogs, cats and kids. I am doing so well with all of them in my foster home in South Carolina! My foster mom thinks I am a cattle dog (or heeler) mix. I have short legs and I am kind of a chunky girl! I am spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, dewormed, current with all vaccines (as appropriate for my age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. I am all ready to be adopted :) My adoption fee is $250, and covers all of my vetting, and includes transport within the next two weeks, if my new family lives in the northeast USA. ***PLEASE DO NOT FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO ADOPT WITHIN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS**** Please visit https://www.apply.daybeforetherainbow.com/ to fill out an adoption application form or email my rescue at taryn@daybeforetherainbow.com! Thanks for checking me out!

Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
River was abandoned in the national forest after we had a major ice/snow storm - myself along with animal control went out to try to get him and he was so terrified - after several hours I was able to gain his trust and he jumped into my car. River is a typical heeler - super super smart, loyal but the typical heeler attitude. This boy knows many commands, sit, stay, lay down, roll over, wait - he will not even eat until you tell him he can. His most favorite thing in the whole world to do is to play ball and he will play for hours and hours. He will need an adopter that has had "heeler" experience as they honestly are a breed of their own. But if you have experience with them - you also know how amazing they are. He would make an excellent hiking partner. Absolutely NO cats - and while he does well with dogs his size that are submissive - he would not mind being the only dog and this dog is going to be loyal to you without a doubt. He is estimated to be 3 years old and weighs 70 pounds. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, current on heartworm prevention, microchipped and is a very well trained dog. If River seems like the perfect dog for you, please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications - that is the first step in our process. We also require references and a home visit. His adoption fee is $250.00

Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Skye was found abandoned and adopted 6 years ago. She has been an inside dog, but does enjoy walks. She has been living almost exclusively with one person for most of her life. She is friendly, but has not been around children very much so can't really attest to how she will do in a family with kids. However, cattle dogs do love to herd whether it's kids or animals and Skye definitely has those traits! She loves to press against your legs and try to "herd" you. Skye needs a loving home because her owner just cannot care for her any longer. She has to be left alone for extended periods of time now which is not fair to her. She also has a skin condition since Dec that has gotten out of control. She saw a vet and was treated for yeast overgrowth on her skin, but despite antibiotics, diet changes, and hygiene it has not gotten much better. That is another reason for having to rehome her. Financially, her owner just cannot afford to give her the care she deserves. Please give her a chance!

Story
Attention all marathon runners, hikers, extremely active people, we have the dog for you!! Polly Pocket is a petite girl who very rarely slows down. Polly thoroughly enjoys a lot of exercising and loves to burn off the energy. Polly loves having dog friends to help burn off this energy so if you need your dog to play, Polly would be a fantastic addition. While Polly is seemingly petite and dainty, we would not use these words to describe her. Polly is a lovable goofball who is not exactly graceful, quite literally the opposite. We love this girl and know you will as well!
