Story
Tucker is a high energy dog. He is house broken. We have moved twice in the last year but unfortunately we no longer have a yard for him to play in and with jobs changing we no longer have the time to exercise him as he needs. He is very sweet and loves cuddles especially from our 2 boys. He is not the only dog in our house, but the other dog is older and doesn’t exercise as much. Tucker is a mix of heeler/collie and is incredibly smart. He needs parents that will be able to give him the exercise he needs.

Story
I've had Lady since she was 2 months old. She is now 6 years old and a complete bundle of joy. I really want to keep her but unfortunately my landlord will not let me. She is full of love and doesn't have a bad bone in her body. She loves to play with other dogs and is very vocal , especially in the mornings, she gives a good morning howel every morning. She has been an indoor dog her whole life and is house trained. She has never chewed or destroyed furniture. She has been the absolute best pup a fur dad could ask for. If I had an option for her to stay with someone for 2 months , I would take it in a heart beat because then my living situation will have changed but if not then I want to find her a very loving home.

Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  Hello! I'm Cooper and my story is the tale of so many other pets. My owner is moving and I can't come with them. Did you hear my heart crack? It did. Into a million pieces. On top of that, where I am, if I get turned into a shelter, I will more than not be put down because they are too full and I am an owner surrender. I am such a sweet and well behaved young man. I like to come into my home and I am crate trained too but I really love to hang outside in a fenced yard. I'm not crazy about baths or cars but I'm excellent on a leash. I listen extremely well and I'm very smart! I am an independent guy that doesn't ask for much. Did I mention that I'm sweet and a really good boy? Did you see my pretty eyes? Have you fallen in love with me yet? I sure hope so!!! My life depends on it. Love,Cooper *Guest Posting If you would like to meet your new best friends, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you cannot get it to work, let us know and we will email it to you in a different format.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. September 23, 2023, 12:42 pm

Story
Hi! Hi! Hi! I'm Athena and I have so much to tell you all! I'm a pretty mini Aussie who's still in her prime and looking for a good home. I tend to prefer females but I make exceptions for some guys if I've met them before. I really like to run, play, and be active in general. I can play for almost 2 hours without a break (staff timed it once when the weather was warm), so I hope you are fit! I'm also really smart and can do jobs for you if trained. I love jobs, and I love to be praised for doing good work! However, as much as I like jobs, I'm also sensitive and want to be more than a working dog. I want to be your family too. So please give me a healthy work-life-family balance. Speaking of family, I love other dogs provided they are smaller than I am. I love being a big sister. Please be patient with me. I sometimes get overstimulated by new people, especially men. I also feel like I need to protect my people when I see someone new. Just know that it's nothing personal and that does go away over time when you get to know me. So come on down and see me, one, two, three, or even ten times! *Female, *2 1/2 years old, *38 pounds *Australian Shepherd mix A wonderful dog lover has paid half my adoption fee so it's only $55 Adoption Fee and includes; Spay/Neuter, DHPP and Rabies and Bordetella Vaccinations (age appropriate), Dewormed, Heartworm Tested and Flea Treated (if needed).  Plus you get a FREE Vet Visit with your adoption. This pooch is located in Oak Ridge, TN. If you have any questions please call or text message Nikki at 516-849-2594.    September 23, 2023, 4:02 pm
