Story
Meet our handsome goofball, Tres Zuma! His previous owner dumped him at the shelter after saying he was "allergic to everything, even the grass and air." Well Tres Zuma sure proved her wrong: as it turns out, omitting chicken-based food from his diet took care of all of his skin issues and he's showing improvement every day! Tres Zuma spends his days in one of the shelter offices soaking up all the attention he can get. His favorite activity? Zoomies and playing ball in the yard! Truly, this boy LOVES a tennis ball! His permanent smile is contagious and his playful antics are sure to keep you laughing. He knows how to sit, shake, and he's ready to be your best friend and forever lap dog! Come meet Tres Zuma today!

Story
Hello!  My name is Jenny.  Oh boy, am I ever SWEET!  I was dropped off at a vet clinic with my two brothers when I was six months old and then I lived there for 3 months.  Now, I'm in a foster home and I LOVE having a home!  The vet thinks I was born around January of 2025 and I weigh about 35 - 40 pounds.  I think I am a cattle dog mix - I'm white and tan-speckled. Oh my gosh and I am very soft.  I am terrific and VERY calm in the house, I am house trained, crate trained and I am great at using a doggie door.  I am a quiet girl, I'm polite and very gentle. I LOVE other dogs (heck, even the little ones like me), kids AND I like kitties a lot (I like to take naps with them - see one of my pictures).  At first I'm a little bit shy but my foster mom is working on showing me that people are really nice.  At the vet office that I lived at there were 7 ladies!  So, I'm still getting to see that men are nice too! Just give me time to keep getting confident.I will sit for treats and I love chewies like Oinkies and Bully Sticks.  I might need you to have some for me for a while since I'm still a pup and I need to chew (and will) for a little bit longer. I will outgrow the naughty part of chewing but will always like having chewies to enjoy. I'm also still a little bit in my puppy digging stage so please keep an eye on me for a while and maybe put me in a crate when you leave the house for a while.  But I really will outgrow these things. I LOVE nice walks, I'm very good on a leash and also I ride very well in the car.  I am a wonderful bed buddy. If you let me sleep in your room I will lay down and sleep all night (close the door just in case).  When I get older I would be able to have the run of the house and not get into trouble but in the beginning, please put me in a crate or in a single room with a person.   I don't really care about toys right now - I prefer the company of living friends.  My life revolves around you.  Maybe I could be a therapy dog!  Come and get me!!!! If you are interested in her, please send an email to SCP! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to us for review!  Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $190 (or $245 for puppies). All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas. Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Clear Lake Petco, 2410 Bay Area Boulevard.  Since all our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please send an email to scpdogworld@gmail.com so that the Dog Coordinator can let you know if the dog will be at the Saturday Adoption Event at Petco. If you just want to meet some great dogs looking for their forever home, please come visit with us on Saturday!November 30, 2025, 6:06 pm

Story
Good morning, all Please let us know if you're interested in Roxy. She was a stray we took in but we're just not the right family for her. She nipped at my little cousin and we can't risk another incident like that again. I don't blame her considering her breed, but she has to go! She's an older and jealous little girl but she is so chill and cuddly 🥰 Pasadena, TX $50 rehoming fee: Non-negotiable • Spayed: She is fixed • Not chipped: We checked twice • We got her a rabies shot • People friendly (mostly) •Good with kids if in a calm environment • Potty trained • Kennel trained • Very chill / low energy • Loves to cuddle in bed or on couch • Doesn't require much activity (She might be older: 5 – 10 years old) • Cuddly most of the time • Sleeps a lot of the day • Calm during thunderstorms • Would need to be slowly introduced to other pets • Very dog reactive
