Story
Hello!  My name is Jenny.  Oh boy, am I ever SWEET!  I was dropped off at a vet clinic with my two brothers when I was six months old and then I lived there for 3 months.  Now, I'm in a foster home and I LOVE having a home!  The vet thinks I was born around January of 2025 and I weigh about 35 - 40 pounds.  I think I am a cattle dog mix - I'm white and tan-speckled. Oh my gosh and I am very soft.  I am terrific and VERY calm in the house, I am house trained, crate trained and I am great at using a doggie door.  I am a quiet girl, I'm polite and very gentle. I LOVE other dogs (heck, even the little ones like me), kids AND I like kitties a lot (I like to take naps with them - see one of my pictures).  At first I'm a little bit shy but my foster mom is working on showing me that people are really nice.  At the vet office that I lived at there were 7 ladies!  So, I'm still getting to see that men are nice too! Just give me time to keep getting confident.I will sit for treats and I love chewies like Oinkies and Bully Sticks.  I might need you to have some for me for a while since I'm still a pup and I need to chew (and will) for a little bit longer. I will outgrow the naughty part of chewing but will always like having chewies to enjoy. I'm also still a little bit in my puppy digging stage so please keep an eye on me for a while and maybe put me in a crate when you leave the house for a while.  But I really will outgrow these things. I LOVE nice walks, I'm very good on a leash and also I ride very well in the car.  I am a wonderful bed buddy. If you let me sleep in your room I will lay down and sleep all night (close the door just in case).  When I get older I would be able to have the run of the house and not get into trouble but in the beginning, please put me in a crate or in a single room with a person.   I don't really care about toys right now - I prefer the company of living friends.  My life revolves around you.  Maybe I could be a therapy dog!  Come and get me!!!! If you are interested in her, please send an email to SCP! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to us for review!  Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $190 (or $245 for puppies). All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas. Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Clear Lake Petco, 2410 Bay Area Boulevard.  Since all our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please send an email to scpdogworld@gmail.com so that the Dog Coordinator can let you know if the dog will be at the Saturday Adoption Event at Petco. If you just want to meet some great dogs looking for their forever home, please come visit with us on Saturday!November 30, 2025, 6:06 pm

Story
I am posting this for a lady I recently met as she has no phone or email. She moved to San Leon 4 months ago. She was watching the dog off and on for a women she met, trying to make a little money. About 2 months ago the women who owned the dog left and told her to keep the dog. She has been trying to take care of him thinking the woman would come back. The sweet dog needs a forever home. Someone that will love him and give him the life he deserves. The dog is somewhat protective of the lady but warms up very quickly.

These pups are in Alvin, Texas too!

Story
I have raised Haiku (Australian Kelpie was mistaken for a German Shepherd mix) since he was a puppy and he is now 5 years. Our family has consisted of myself, 21 year old son who is living independently, 17 and 14 year old daughters, and 1 year old son. Haiku sunbathes in front of windows, has stood guard over my son as an infant, does not jump on furniture, and waits in front of the door to tell you he needs to potty. He has done well around my brothers dog that is an 11 year old German shepherd, my friends dog that is a 7 year old small Japanese service dog, and my son and his girlfriends large breed poodle puppy. Because of unforseen circumstances with moving, I need to re home Haiku. He deserves a loving home to go to. October 2023 he had his shots.
