Story
Lucy was adopted from La Porte Rescue Shelter in Oct 2023 but we are unfortunately moving out of state and unable to bring her with us in the downsized home. She was timid when adopted but true to the breed, has attached to her favorite human and is quite loving and playful. She remains timid of others but never shows any aggression, only apprehension. She is known as 'Lucy good girl' due to her affectionate eyes, desire to be part of the family despite her trepidations, and eager to learn new things. She has found her safe and favorite places inside the house but otherwise LOVES to be outside, especially running free on a walk and frolicking in water puddles. Lucy enjoys playing with other dogs and would do well in a multi-dog or single dog home (we currently are a multi-dog family) and would be a great addition to a ranch/farm or anywhere with open land to roam, but would also adapt and thrive with the right family anywhere as a lovely and sweet fur companion.

Story
Adalynn “Addie” is a very sweet, but timid puppy. She and her brother were dumped at a park as very young puppies to survive on their own. By miracle, they did for about two weeks until I was able to trap her and have been working with her trusting humans. She has been making amazing progress and we are seeing her adorable personality blossom. She will need continued work and training for her to be the amazing pet. Addie is a puppy and still growing, fully vetted, microchipped, crate trained, potty trained, needs some leash training. She would do best with another well balanced medium to larger dog to play with, older kids and she does very well around cats! Addie is going to need a lot of patience and time to adjust to change. If you feel you can offer Addie this, please apply at www.HTXDOGRESCUE.com

BILINGUAL POOCH  Estimated DOB 10/29/19, weight 55 pounds Hello!  My name is Lucas, and I was abandoned at a vet clinic where I was tied to the front door.  Fortunately, the clinic found a client who agreed to take me in and foster me. The vet helped get me hooked up with an adoption program, so here I am, a HOPE dog now! I love playing with balls and squeaky toys, going running with my foster mom’s neighbor, and sunning in the backyard in nice weather. I like to play with other dogs, but I like to wrestle. It looks/ sounds rough, so I may be better as the only-pet child. I'm a smart boy who already knows "sit." I'm crate trained, bilingual, and ready to snuggle with you! Arrange to meet me today! HOPE ID: D23-0211-0010 If you are interested in Lucas and would like to fill out a Dog Adoption Application, please go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt from us but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started. If you have questions prior to filling out the application, email us at lisagilchrist16@gmail.com and a volunteer will get back to you.  May 7, 2024, 9:49 pm

Story
GIVES 200% IN ALL ENDEAVORS  DOB 11/1/18, weight 40 pounds Arf! Arf, everyone! I’m Gordo, a sweet, gentle, even-tempered yellow Cattle Dog mix. My hooman mom describes me as “a lover and friend.” Need I say more about my compatibility with hoomans – both adults and kids? She also christened me as a “true baller” because I absolutely live to play fetch. In fact, I’m so smart that she thinks I’d do great in agility dog sports. I give 200% in all my endeavors, including protecting my foster home. I get along great with the cats and other dogs in my foster home because I tend to submit to the stronger pet personalities. That said, I’m here because the dogs in my original home didn’t accept me as the “newbie” of the pack. In fact, I was under threat of being attacked so I was dumped outside until I was finally rescued to the safety of my foster home. I do fit in great here, but unfortunately my hooman mom is under the threat of eviction and wisely is trying to find me the perfect forever home that I deserve. Do you have room in your heart and hearth for a handsome, sweet-faced, adaptable fella who will love you 200%? Then arrange to meet me! Incidentally there are advantages to adopting an adult dog like me. I have perfect house habits and won’t chew or destroy your stuff. HOPE ID D23-1007-0033 If you are interested in Gordo and would like to fill out a Dog Adoption Application, please go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php . Story
GREAT FAMILY DOG  DOB 11/1/18, weight 65 pounds Hey there, everyone! I’m Kodi, a sweet, loving, and playful red Australian Stumpy-Tail Cattle Dog mix. (This is an AKC breed that is NOT an Australian Cattle Dog with a docked tail.) We are a naturally bob-tailed breed that stands square with plenty of leg-length under our bodies. My hooman mom describes me as “a great family dog” because I get along great with adults, kids, cats, and other dogs. You name it, I’m easy to please. Like my brother Gordo, I can’t get enough of playing fetch, and I’m an expert at focusing on the ball. I should be an Astros outfielder! After a rousing game of fetch, I enjoy being a couch potato with Gordo. I pride myself on my dedication to guarding my foster home.  When my owner died, a relative gave me to my new mom. She loves me, and I do fit in great here, but unfortunately she is under the threat of eviction and wisely is trying to find me the perfect forever home that I deserve. Do you have room in your heart and hearth for a big, burly, and handsome red man who will love you 200%? Then arrange to meet me, and let’s begin writing a new chapter in our lives together! Incidentally there are advantages to adopting an adult dog like me. I have perfect house habits and won’t chew or destroy your stuff. HOPE ID D24-0316-0006 If you are interested in Kodi and would like to fill out a Dog Adoption Application, please go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php .
