Story
Say yes to Harley, this fellow is a 5 year old male cattle dog. This guy craves attention and loves seeing what is happening around him. Harley does great with other dogs and is very playful and loves playing catch with tennis balls. he is very attention motivated however does find ways to keep himself busy if left alone. We think Harley would do great with kids of any age. We are unsure how Harley would do with cats in the home as we don't know if he's lived with any before. ***If you are interested in adopting please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
Sweet-boy Gus has been waiting far. too. long. for his forever family to find him! And quite honestly, we don’t understand why…this boy is as good as it gets! Gus (male) is one of mama Charlotte’s litter; he was was born on 8/5/23, so is now just under 8 months old. The siblings’ vet papers list them as heeler/boxer mixes, but mama Charlotte is brindle (we’ll post her photo in the comments) and most definitely could have some pittie mixed in as well. Really, your guess is as good as ours! ‍ We just know that Gus is cuter than all get out…and has the most loving personality to match! Gus currently weighs-in at 40-45lbs, and likely could end up @ 55-60(ish)lbs when fully grown. Some of his favorite things include: playing outside, romping around with his 4-legged friends, playing with toys and sticks, and CUDDLING! He love, love, lovessss to snuggle his humans! His sweetness is apparent as soon as you meet him, and he gets along with everyone…other dogs (of all ages/sizes), cats, and kids included! He’d make the most perfect family dog. And he’d especially adore his forever home having another pup-mate for him to play with! Gus is — for the most part (some transition time to be expected, of course) — potty-trained; he does quite perfectly when provided a solid schedule. He is crate-trained and does just fine in his kennel. He truly is amazing! And you could make this amazing boy all yours! If you’d like to make him the newest member of your family, please apply + reach out via private message. Just ask for Gus! Story
Jack has watched all four of his siblings head off to forever homes of their very own…and he is crossing his paws that he gets to be next! Jack (male) came to us [with his sister + 3 brothers] from an Amish breeder when we were told their “time was up.” So to put it plainly…Jack’s life was spared by a matter of hours! Upon arrival, all of the pups were – understandably – quite scared, but have adjusted, settled in, and started to embrace the wonderful life they were always meant to live! Jack weighs right around 40lbs, and since we don’t know the exact details about his date of birth…is approximately 7-8 months old. The best way to describe Jack: SMART!!! He is thought to be a blue heeler mix, and…in true heeler fashion…is incredibly intelligent! He catches onto things very quickly. He knows how to “sit” & “shake,” and was accustomed to leash walking with just a short amount of practice. He loves going on walks! Jack has been a champ with his housebreaking, and we’d venture to say he’s pretty much 100% potty-trained (with a little transition time to be expected when moving to a new home, of course)! Chew toys are included in the list of Jack’s favorite things, however he doesn’t chew on anything in the home he isn’t supposed to. He comes when he’s called, responds extremely well to correction, and sleeps in his kennel throughout the night. Sometimes he needs just a little reminder to lay down/be quiet, but once reminded…he listens well and complies without any reluctance. Jack LOVES to be cuddled!! As you can see in some of his photos, he soaks up any + all affection from his humans. He also loves being held like a baby. He’s a huge cuddle-bug!  OF NOTE: Jack is a heeler breed – and DOES have several of their tendencies! He is currently living with another (very submissive) dog, and Jack has a habit of nipping toward/herding the other dog. He loves other dogs and really enjoys playing with them outside (he would play & play forever!)…but when indoors, what Jack perceives as “doing his job” can take over at times. Therefore any pup-friends in the home will need to be tolerant of this behavior, OR he would also thrive as your one & only! And although he has met young children and loved them, it’s very possible he would also attempt to herd them. So we are highly recommending that Jack’s forever home be versed in the heeler breed and their traits…as this will only ensure Jack is setup for success!   He’s truly a sweet, snuggly boy who deserves the world! He would flourish in an active home who supplies him with the appropriate exercise + mental stimulation…and then [of course] cuddle up for love and spoils at the end of the day. If he sounds like the one for you, please apply + reach out via private message. Just ask for Jack!  APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!)  **Jack’s $250 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccines to date, heartworm test, and microchip. ##2001439##

Story
Atlas a spunky young heeler mix was found hanging out at the local motel, we believe he may have followed his Amish owners into town and became lost. He is a sweet little guy who is looking for a job to do! He would do well with an active family who will take him on lots of walks/hikes to keep his mind and body happy! Atlas has done well with his playmate Clementine but we recommend slow meet and greets with any potential household pets.“I come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. Story
Clementine is a sweet young heeler who came in as a stray. She is very loving and wants to be wherever you are. Clementine seems nervous of cats here at the shelter, but slow greets should be done for everyone's safety. She seems to have lived outside, and that's where she prefers to be, Clementine would make an excellent hiking partner, or on a farm with a job to do! She enjoys playing with her buddy Atlas and rolling around in the grass! “I come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org.
