Paddie is a 2 year old, 54 pound Aussie mixed breed boy who joined us recently from Yuma. This guy is very playful and affectionate. He enjoys the company of other dogs, and has excellent leash manners. He knows basic commands, and is very treat motivated. This handsome boy is living at our adoption center while he waits for his forever home.No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)!Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Story

Johnny is a happy, high energy boy. He is about 16 months old. He is crate trained and doggy door trained. He loves to play and cuddle. The main reason for rehoming is that he does not get along with my senior male dog. He is an alpha boy and would be best served by being the only dog in the home. He was born with an ankle that was slightly bent and so he often trips when he walks, but don’t worry, it doesn’t limit his joy at all. Johnny would be a great addition to your family!

My husband found sweet Scottie (a miniature Australian shepherd) on a run around the neighborhood just before Thanksgiving. He knocked on doors nearby but no one recognized him. I posted his picture online on many websites but no one claimed him. He was not chipped, so we decided to look after him for a while. We got him neutered, fully vaccinated, and a dental cleaning. He is such a sweet friendly energetic dog, loves my young kids. They love playing with him. He has only had a couple pee accidents in the house (when we’ve left him for too long). We take him for walks everyday and he barks at dogs and people and pulls — so he could use some training in that area. My husband does not want to keep the dog sadly, even though my kids and I do. So here we are.

The space they are living in is not a good space for larger dog. my grandma is trying to help me find a forever home. I am great with small kids. I am very loving and love attention. We're blessed to have had Jaxx for 7 years, he just turned 8 in October. We would love to find him a home with a senior seeking a companion, a couple, a person with another dog, or a family. Jaxx is incredibly patient and kind. We have 2 young children and he has been nothing but sweet despite their playful curiosities that sometimes end in accidental tugs. Unfortunately my youngest daughter has an allergy we've tried everything for and we're unable to keep him, but we're optimistic he will find the perfect home with you. As I said, Jaxx is incredibly patient with kids, does great with other dogs at the dog park, and walks/jogs well on a leash (though not as fast as when he was a younger dog). He would love to snuggle in bed with you if you desire that, however, if that is not comfortable for you, he is also so happy on his own comfy bed. He has an incredible ability to attune and understand what the house rules are (i.e.- kitchen is a boundary, etc.) and is an emotional companion
