Story
🌟 Meet Kydden, the bundle of energy with a heart full of love! 🐾 Affectionately known as Kiddin', this gorgeous six-year-old girl is on the lookout for her forever home, and she's got a personality as vibrant as her spirit. Kydden is a people enthusiast, spreading joy to everyone she meets. With her high energy levels, she's searching for an active family to keep up with her zest for life. While she's a love bug, her exuberance might be a bit much for tiny tots, so a home without small children is recommended. This spirited pup marches to the beat of her own drum and prefers to be the solo star in the canine show. Dog reactive but kitty-friendly, Kydden's looking for a forever home where she can shine without sharing the spotlight. Smarty pants alert! Kydden aced her obedience training, although the distractions from other pups didn't earn her valedictorian status. A strong pack leader is just what she needs to help her stay focused and on the right track. Kydden has battled anxiety, but with patience, love, and a dash of training, she's made incredible strides. She's been a trooper in boarding and kennel situations, proving she's ready for a loving home where she can truly flourish. While her stance on swimming is uncertain, she's been known to enjoy a refreshing dip in the doggie pool—a true tropical pup at heart! If you're ready for a lively companion who's equal parts fun and affection, Kydden is your girl. Email ADOPT@VALLEYDOGS.ORG to see if you're the perfect match for this wonderful, energetic sweetheart! 🐶💖

Story
Hi, my name is Poppy! I have a heart full of love, energy and a tail that never stops wagging. My foster family thinks I’m a Canaan/Heeler mix, and I’ll likely stay on the smaller side—under 50 lbs—when I’m all grown up. I’m spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all my vaccinations. I’m also crate trained, house trained, and walk nicely on a leash. I know my basic commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “down”—pretty impressive for a young pup, right? I can be a little shy when meeting new people, but I warm up quickly and will soon be your loyal little shadow. I’m currently being fostered with other dogs from 12 to 70 lbs, and I love to play with them! I might have a bit of Heeler in me because I have a silly habit of trying to “herd” my doggie friends when we’re racing around the yard. Like any growing puppy, I need plenty of exercise, toys, and walks to keep me happy and healthy. I’d probably do best with kiddos over 8 and might really enjoy having an older dog sibling to look up to. Once I’ve had my playtime, I’m all about the snuggles—I love being close to my humans and will happily curl up next to you for some chill time. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, and loyal companion, I just might be your girl! ***If you are interested in a meet and greet, please contact Kelly at bicklekt@gmail.com.

Meet Yo-Yo.. aka Goat! He was 1 of the 8 dogs that was lucky enough to fly to the US from Costa Rica to get a new chance at life. He has been in foster care since May of 2023!  Yo-Yo is left with neurological issues per the Costa Rica sanctuary that he came from. You can see this when he walks. His name fits his personality perfectly! He acts like a goat nibbling on everything. He is a goof ball who's extremely loveable. He does great with all the dogs he is with in his foster home and his great with the  kids in the home. He loves to snuggle blankets and his peanut butter kongs! We suggest a home with kids older than 8 because he can at times resource guard his bones and food.  Yo-Yo has incontinence so he does wear a belly band in his foster home. He does not usually have an issue and maybe has 2-3 small spots a day if the band is off.  We believe him to be a cattle dog mix who deserves a very special home of his own!  His foster is in Tucson, AZ, but comes to the Phoenix/East Valley area often. If you are interested in Yo-Yo, please fill out an application. A meet/greet and home check is required. His adoption fee is $250. May 25, 2025, 7:29 pm

Story
Emma is a 1 year old, 38 pound Cattledog blend who joined us recently and is looking for her forever home. This beautiful lady has typical playfulness and energy, for her age. She will do best as an only dog because her behavior can seem "pushy" to other dogs, particularly smaller dogs. She is a big fan of toys, and is residing at the Adoption Center, hoping you'll come play with her.No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Story
We rescued Zeppelin from AZ cattle dog rescue at 3 months old. Very intelligent and athletic dog. He is a lover and independent dog. He has an older fur buddy (female heeler also rescued from AZ cattle dog) and they are awesome siblings. She is the alpha dog, so he would be fine with different roles if he had a fur buddy sibling. No patience for toddlers (sitting on him, pulling ears, tail, etc). If you have older children, or no children this dog will be amazing for you or your family. We are so sad that he is leaving our family and I pray he finds a good new forever home.

Story
Broccoli is a sweet and energetic dog. He is completely deaf, which makes him unique and has a few special needs, but nothing difficult to handle as an owner. He acts like a normal dog does in most ways, but he will not react at all to sounds like doorbells, fireworks, or sirens. But he does love to chase things like lights, shadows, lasers, fast moving things, birds, and planes. Because of the missing pigment that causes his deafness, his skin and stomach are sensitive. He should not be in direct sunlight for more than a few hours at a time, and he eats food only for sensitive stomach (he currently eats Hills Science food). He knows hand signals for come, go away, sit, lay down, no, good, and shake. Other than these special quirks, he is just like any other dog, and deserves a loving home. He does not really like cats, and is easily spooked by fast moving objects. He also responds well to a spray bottle and vibration collar.
