This handsome boy with expressive eyes loves to play catch, get a nice scratch behind the ears, and dutifully patrol the perimeter for possible squirrel intruders. Sigmond is a mature Kelpie/German Shepherd mix estimated to be around 7 years old but still strong and energetic. 2 yr old tricolor M/N Kelpie/GSD mix Looking for a dogs dog?? Gunner is your guy! He was comfortable enough around me, allowed touch, took treats, interacted some with me, but he really really wanted to play with the big dog in the next yard. He wasn't aloof though! Took treats gently, eager to please and loved being called a good boi, it was a fun yard time for both us us He does seem to be feeling the stress from the shelter, some have had some trouble getting him out of his kennel but he was perfectly behaved for me. This is an active breed, he will need consistent physical and mental exercise to be happy, it is likely what is causing his current stress and occasional barrier reactivity. It is worth noting that he was a very loud bork monster when I first approached his kennel but after 3 treats he was ready to follow me anywhere I was going Knows how to sit, walks well on the leash (just a tiny bit of pulling) and seemed potty trained!! ##2528145##

Hugo is a sweet boy. At parks he plays happily and perfectly with dogs of any breed and size - big ones, tiny ones. He even prefers to let other dogs win at fetch. At home he’s cuddly and loves the other dog in our home. He eats very slowly, savoring each bite. Even if napping, every hour or so he comes to check on the humans. But on leash, on walks, he’s reactive to dogs. It’s a totally different experience. He pulls and barks and growls. We’ve tried training and different leashes and even dog prozac. We adopted him 2 years ago, and they say he may have been through some trauma. If we can’t find him a happier home, somewhere in a less populated area where he wouldn’t have to go on walks past other dogs every day like he does now in the city, we will simply keep him and keep loving him. We just want him to not have this stressful experience twice a day :(

Cedar took some time to open up but Cedar loves the outdoors now! He was found with his mama and siblings in Modesto ca. Bowsers face had injuries and so did all the other siblings. Even though he had an injury to his face he is still as cute as can be. Penny-She was found left behind with her leash attached to the front gate of the local shelter. Once a shy and anxious dog, now thrives thanks to her routine of daily walks, cuddles and delicious meals. She has been an inside dog but is not crate trained. She knows a few basic commands like: sit, down, come, food, treat. She is potty trained to go outside. She could use additional training and animal socialization. She’s a strong leash puller and is triggered by most small animals. She is also selective with people. Building and maintaining a relationship with Penny will require patience and possibly behavioral therapy. She is also triggered by people on bikes/scooters. We as a foster home did not use training methods that require pronged collars, e-collars or anything that would possibly harm Penny both physically and psychologically.
