Tawny was a shelter favorite and had an upper respiratory infection which is a death sentence in high kill shelters. She was fostered at the last minute by a wonderful person who saved Tawny's life. We pulled her and are looking for that perfect home where Tawny can enjoy being a doggy for the first time. She is in foster care now with four other dogs and doing wonderfully. She is super fun, loves to play...waiting for that first trip to the beach so she canb live up to her Facebook page Tawny at the Beach! We've got Tawny as an Australian Kelpie mix but she is fostered with a Rhodesian Ridgeback and looks like a teacup model. See for yourself. 2 yr old tricolor M/N Kelpie/GSD mix Looking for a dogs dog?? Gunner is your guy! He was comfortable enough around me, allowed touch, took treats, interacted some with me, but he really really wanted to play with the big dog in the next yard. He wasn't aloof though! Took treats gently, eager to please and loved being called a good boi, it was a fun yard time for both us us He does seem to be feeling the stress from the shelter, some have had some trouble getting him out of his kennel but he was perfectly behaved for me. This is an active breed, he will need consistent physical and mental exercise to be happy, it is likely what is causing his current stress and occasional barrier reactivity. It is worth noting that he was a very loud bork monster when I first approached his kennel but after 3 treats he was ready to follow me anywhere I was going Knows how to sit, walks well on the leash (just a tiny bit of pulling) and seemed potty trained!! ##2528145##
