Story
I got Pepper from the Fulton County animal shelter when she was barely six weeks old in July of 2022, making her almost two years old. She has been with our family for a while now. The kids love her, and I adore her, but between working and, we all don’t have the time to give her the love and attention she needs. She is super sweet and energetic, but she loves to be close to all of the members of the family. she is free, energetic, loving, enjoys treats, and likes to lounge around. We adore her, and I would like to find her home with someone who loves her. If you have a fenced-in backyard even better because she loves to run she loves to run. She knows some commands, like sit down high five, give me paw, and stay. She also understands boundaries and if you tell her, no she won’t do something. She also understands and was beginning to learn how to be patient when eating. She has this about 75% mastered and will “eat” when told.

Hi, I'm Mindy! I've got a tail-wagging tale for you. One day, I was chasing my tail (a very intellectual pursuit, I assure you) when I mistook a squirrel for it! I followed the squirrel, and before I knew it, I was at the shelter. Talk about a crazy game of tail-tag! But don't worry, I've learned my lesson. Squirrels are not tails. I'm young, friendly, smart, playful, and energetic! I'm also a quick learner, as you can tell. I'd love to bring my playful energy and tail-chasing expertise to your home. Let's make some fun, furry memories together!

Story
Oreo was given to me as a puppy 2 years ago from a family friend whose dog accidentally breed with another. I adopted Oreo and my brother adopted Oreo’s brother at the same time. They often have play dates together. Oreo is two years old and we usually celebrate her birthday on Easter Sunday. I have two other dogs besides Oreo that I had before acquiring her. They are small breed dogs and Oreo is my first large breed dog that I’ve ever owned which has been hard for me as I’m not a good disciplinarian and she needs that in order to reach her greatest potential. She’s a loyal and obedient dog but she needs an owner who loves the outdoors and has space indoors and outdoors for her to move around freely. In a new home for Oreo I’m looking for someone who is active outdoors and will train and play with her. She will do best with an owner who can provide her with a lot of attention and preferably has no other pets or no small children because she will want to be the center of your attention.

Story
Meet Winston This handsome boy is named Winston. He is an amazing dog. He was surrendered to us over a year ago because his owner works really long hours and Winston was crated for far too many hours a day. Somehow, Winston has been overlooked time and again. Winston is a three and a half year old Australian Kelpie/Lab mix. He’s missed out on a lot of loving and living in his life. Going from a full-time crate to a shelter, Winston’s just gone through the motions of living. He loves being with people when they give him time. He is friendly and affectionate. He really has a way of connecting. He loves playing fetch and will play all day if someone goes in the yard with him. If not, he gets dejected and only wants to go back to his kennel. He’s never learned to ‘dog’; to be carefree, to lay in the sun or to chew a bone. A person or family who’d give him 1:1 time will help him thrive. He has all the makings of fabulous companion, if only someone cared enough to give him a chance. Winston seems to not like other dogs, but he may just not know their social cues, having grown up in crate isolation. Winston is house-trained and crate trained. He has wonderful manners, he walks well on a leash. He is athletic and smart. He’s a good size too, not too big. He loves to travel. This handsome boy so deserves a second chance. He would love for someone to love him, play ball with him, take him on walks and hikes, and play fetch. Winston needs a chance to ‘dog’, to chew a bone, lay on the couch, be cherished and loved. Day after day, Winston waits to go home. Maybe you’ll be the one to give Winston that chance. He’s so worth it. If interested in Winston, please submit an application online at: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/dog-adoption-application Once an application is submitted online, you will receive an email saying your application has been successfully submitted. Story
Meet Faith Faith is a gorgeous red German shepherd/cattle dog mix. She was found living in a hoarder’s house. She was desperately trying to raise her puppies surrounded by filth, with no food and kindness. She was surrendered to us with six puppies in tow. She was a good mom, raising her pups beautifully and lovingly. Faith’s puppies have found their furever homes. Now it’s Faith’s turn to get her second chance. Faith is about three years old. She has a pretty, light red coat and warm amber eyes. She is medium in size. Our staff and volunteers have done an incredible job with Faith, showing her unending love and attention. She was so scared when she arrived and to see her now, embracing our staff and volunteers in gentle hugs, we know that she is ready to lavish her love on a kind and caring person/family. Faith is friendly, affectionate, outgoing, calm, gentle and quiet. She has grown in confidence. She is learning some tricks. She walks easily on a leash. She has shown us her playful side. She loves being in the fresh air and play yards. She is loving and affectionate with those she trusts. Faith enjoys traveling in a car, especially to her favorite lunch place. She loves attention and thrives under the adoring kindness shown to her. Faith is a smart girl and learns quickly. We think she is most likely house-trained. She will do well with positive reinforcement. Faith will need a containment fenced yard to safely run around and enjoy the fresh air. But she must live as an indoor dog. Faith is selective about other dogs, but this may be the isolation and desperation she experienced early on. Once a shelter dog is given time to decompress and live a more normal and quiet life, this may change. Faith is a beautiful and lovely dog who just needs a second chance. If interested in Faith, please submit an application online at: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/dog-adoption-application Once an application is submitted online, you will receive an email saying your application has been successfully submitted.
