Meet Ziggy! He arrived at the shelter as a lost boy on 3/3, and sadly, no one has come to reclaim him. The volunteers describe him as sweet, very cute, and a great size! The leash seems like a new thing to him, but the volunteers are working with him and he's doing quite well! Ziggy seems to know several commands because he responds to "sit" and "lay down". Ziggy is approximately 1 year old, and weighs 40 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines and did test negative for heartworms. He will be neutered and microchipped upon adoption. Please come meet Ziggy in kennel 830; his ID # is 17314. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. 2 yr old tricolor M/N Kelpie/GSD mix Looking for a dogs dog?? Gunner is your guy! He was comfortable enough around me, allowed touch, took treats, interacted some with me, but he really really wanted to play with the big dog in the next yard. He wasn't aloof though! Took treats gently, eager to please and loved being called a good boi, it was a fun yard time for both us us He does seem to be feeling the stress from the shelter, some have had some trouble getting him out of his kennel but he was perfectly behaved for me. This is an active breed, he will need consistent physical and mental exercise to be happy, it is likely what is causing his current stress and occasional barrier reactivity. It is worth noting that he was a very loud bork monster when I first approached his kennel but after 3 treats he was ready to follow me anywhere I was going Knows how to sit, walks well on the leash (just a tiny bit of pulling) and seemed potty trained!! ##2528145##

Sugar Plum is approximately 1.5 years old and is a perfect size at roughly 45 pounds. She is potty trained, crate trained, and knows many basic commands including “sit”, “down”, and “stay”. You would never know by her friendly outgoing and happy demeanor that Sugar Plum had a rough start in life. As a puppy she was hit by a car, left untreated and eventually had one leg amputated. Sugar Plum bounced back beautifully, and her disposition is still sweeter and happier than just about any dog you’ll ever meet. Because of the amputation Sugar Plum is a tripod, but don’t let that dampen your enthusiasm because it doesn’t slow her down one bit! She doesn’t notice it, and neither will you when you meet her.
