Story
This sweet Australian shepherd mix may be heartworm positive, but don’t let that scare you away. Heartworm is treatable, and with proper care, love, and a little patience, dogs like Ranger go on to live long, happy, tail-wagging lives. While not much is known about Ranger since he was a stray pickup, what I have learned during his time in foster is that he is a kind and gentle soul, a true gem of an Australian shepherd. He is calmer than most but enjoys a good walk. He is housetrained, learning commands and in his foster home he lives with cats and another dog. He will come to you for pets and fully enjoys having his ears scratched. He is crate trained and sleeps in his all night with no issues. He rarely barks. On walks he has been exposed to traffic, other dogs, random loud noises, charging dogs, ducks, geese and people. He just walks on with no concern. He does like to approach people and sit for pets though. The vet feels he is not yet two years old, and he weighs in at 51 pounds. He will be neutered soon and has all his vaccines. Ranger is available for foster to adopt while he goes through his heartworm treatment.

Story
Marmaduke is a big goofy lovebug! He adores children and other dogs. He is very curious about cats and chickens and is probably best in a home without those (or where he can be separated from them). He is only about 1 year old and has been in rescue all his life. He had a medical issue as a puppy that required surgery and he is completely healed from that. He will do best in a home with a secure fenced yard, another dog or dogs to play with that are not tiny since he's so big, and respectful animal-loving children that will love him as much as he loves them. If you are interested in Marmaduke, please fill out an application at our website: forrescue.net He is fostered in the Huntsville, AL area and could be available for transport but transport fees are on top of the adoption fee.

Story
Meet Magnolia (affectionately known as Maggie)! 🌸 Maggie is a beautiful Australian Shepherd / Great Pyrenees mix born at the end of July. She is a happy, active puppy with a joyful spirit and a heart full of love. Maggie is a double merle and, because of this, she is deaf—but that certainly doesn’t slow her down or hold her back in life! Maggie is incredibly smart and a quick learner. She is eager to please and has already shown how capable she is at learning through consistency and positive reinforcement. We are looking for an adopter with experience with deaf dogs—or someone willing to learn—who is committed to training her using hand signals and providing the structure she needs to thrive. For her safety, Maggie will require a securely fenced yard. She absolutely adores playing with other dogs, and we feel she would do best in a home with a friendly canine companion to help her continue building confidence and burning off puppy energy. Maggie is doing wonderfully with house training and has mastered using the dog door. In a home without a dog door, she will just need a little extra guidance to continue her success. At night, she sleeps comfortably in a dog bed but is also crate-trained if needed. She walks well on a leash and is continuing to grow into a very well-rounded young lady. Maggie is expected to be a large dog, and due to her size, breed traits, and enthusiasm, she would do best in a home with older children. She is truly a special girl with so much potential, and her foster family is dedicated to finding the perfect forever home—one that will nurture her, support her unique needs, and help her continue her journey into a confident, successful pup. If you’re looking for a remarkable dog with a big heart and are ready to embrace something truly special, Maggie may be your perfect match. 💛🐾 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Wetumpka, AL Meet Annie! She is a 4-year-old Australian Shepherd and weighs 60 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Annie is nervous around strangers and dogs! She hasn’t been tested around older children or cats. No younger children or dogs, due to her reactivity! She is housebroken and crate-trained but will submissively urinate sometimes because of her fear. The owner is surrendering her because of her severe anxiety from a previous home. He is unable to provide the training that Annie needs. She needs to go ASAP! If you think you can provide a great home for Annie, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Annie. Owner’s Contact Information: Mark airbatt@gmail.com

Story
Bella 🐾 Meet Bella! 🐾 Bella is a 5–6 month old pup with a heart full of love and a personality that’s equal parts playful and cuddly. 💕 ✨ Fun Facts About Bella: 1. Potty trained — no accidents since day one! 🚽👏 2. The biggest cuddle bug 🛋️ 3. Loves car rides (as long as she can touch you) 🚗❤️ 4. Super playful, floppy, and full of puppy energy 🎾 5. Smart girl who already knows “sit” 🐾 Bella’s favorite things? Sunbathing after potty breaks 🌞, flopping down leash and all, and “talking” at her reflection with the cutest little howl-growl combo. 🐶 She’s had a tough start to life and can be timid with men and kids, but she is never aggressive. She does great hanging out in a bathroom with her bed and toys, but a crate makes her very anxious. She’s working hard on puppy manners like “sit before pets” and “sit before food,” and she takes direction well. Bella is both a couch potato and a playmate — she loves walks, playtime, and then snuggling close. She just wants to be loved, reassured, and never left behind again. 💙 🏡 Ideal Home: Bella would thrive in a home where she can be the center of attention and get plenty of affection, exercise, and continued training. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’ll make you laugh, keep you company, and love you endlessly, Bella is your girl. 🥰 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Story
🐾💙 Meet Finn — Your Thoughtful Trail Buddy 💙🐾 Finn is a 6-year-old purebred Border Collie with soulful eyes and a heart full of quiet devotion. This handsome boy is looking for a peaceful home where he can truly shine. 🏡 Finn is house trained, kennel trained, and walks beautifully on leash. He’s been working hard on calmly passing other dogs on walks and would be the perfect hiking or walking companion for someone who enjoys a little adventure with a loyal shadow. 🧠 True to his breed, Finn is smart, intuitive, and deeply connected to his people. He thrives in a calm, consistent home and prefers to be the only dog. He’s great with cats and older children but isn’t a match for loud, chaotic households or young kids. 🎯 Loud noises like gunshots startle him, so a quieter, rural, or suburban setting would suit him best. Finn isn’t high maintenance—he just wants a person to bond with and a peaceful space to relax in. If you’ve been searching for a steady, affectionate companion who will reward your patience with unwavering loyalty, Finn may be your perfect match. 💙 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel.
