Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Wetumpka, AL Meet Annie! She is a 4-year-old Australian Shepherd and weighs 60 lbs. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Annie is nervous around strangers and dogs! She hasn’t been tested around older children or cats. No younger children or dogs, due to her reactivity! She is housebroken and crate-trained but will submissively urinate sometimes because of her fear. The owner is surrendering her because of her severe anxiety from a previous home. He is unable to provide the training that Annie needs. She needs to go ASAP! If you think you can provide a great home for Annie, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. Sammy is a wonderful Australian Shepard. He is very sweet. He seems to have been abused by a male. So, it takes him a while to get close to people, particularly men. Just be patient and loving and he will return the love. Sammy has been with Sandy, a female Australian Shepard that looks like him, all his life and the two need to stay together.

Marmaduke is a big goofy lovebug! He adores children and other dogs. He is very curious about cats and chickens and is probably best in a home without those (or where he can be separated from them). He is about 1 year old and has been in rescue all his life. He had a medical issue as a puppy that required surgery and he is healed from that but needs 24/7 dog door access - he is doggie door trained. He will do best in a home with a secure fenced yard, another dog or dogs to play with that are not tiny since he's so big, and respectful animal-loving children that will love him as much as he loves them. If you are interested in Marmaduke, please fill out an application at our website: forrescue.net He is fostered in the Huntsville, AL area and we have determined because of his need for 24/7 dog door access he should be adopted locally in case an adopter cannot manage his condition and he must return to the rescue. We only want what is best for this amazingly sweet boy!

Ludo is a 2 year old mixed breed. He is good with our 3 year old toddler and 3 month old baby. He is good with other dogs as long as food isn't involved. He has high energy and needs a place to run. We would love to keep him but do not have the time to train him or work on the food aggression. Ideally he would be adopted by someone with a lot of room for him to run.

Raleigh is a 12-year-old Australian Shepherd mix with a gorgeous coat and those signature feathery Aussie good looks. Weighing about 45 pounds, he’s the perfect blend of charm, loyalty, and happy-go-lucky energy. He’s up to date on vaccines and heartworm prevention and is in great shape for a senior guy. Raleigh isn’t a fan of cats (they don’t fit into his herding plans), but he does well with other dogs when properly introduced. He’s lived peacefully with dogs of all sizes before and enjoys spending time in our exercise yard. With the right owner and a little structure, he’ll do just fine with canine friends. Like most Aussies, Raleigh thrives when his mind and body are engaged. He’d love an adopter who appreciates a daily walk, some brain games, and lots of affection. In return, he’ll give you unwavering loyalty and a tail that never stops wagging. Raleigh is a joyful, easygoing companion who still has plenty of love — and life — left to share.
