Meet BJ! She’s a 1-year-old 60-to-70-pound Aussie/Lab who isn’t just beautiful. She’s very sweet, loves people, and loves toys. She is dog selective, however, rather picky about which other canine she chooses to play with. Overall, she’s a calm girl, but she does have bursts of energy! She’s delightful to have around! This 77-pound dog isn’t little but that’s what his name is, Little T. Little T is a one-year-old mix of Aussie and Lab with a goofy personality. He loves to play but is dog selective, so he doesn’t want to play with just any dog. He loves people and is terrific to have around. He also loves toys and is very curious. He’s great! Darby is an 8-month-old Aussie/Heeler mix! Born in rescue with her 7 siblings, Darby was a happy girl, living and playing with her littermates. However, transporting her to her adoptive home several hundred miles away was a traumatic experience for Darby, and she arrived terrified of everyone she met. Because she expresses her fear, we feel a home with no children is appropriate, at least until she gets past this period. We are hoping for a home in the PA/NJ area, as we work with a trainer in Doylestown, PA who will continue to assist her in adjusting her to her new home. (Working with your own trainer is also an option. We are confident that this is fixable with a little work.) We need a special, patient person for this girl while she works through her issues. Hazel is a beautiful girl and she sometimes flashes a sweet smile. She may be a little shy at first but she warms up quickly. She plays well with others. Our dogs are current on vaccines, adults are heartworm tested. They are on heartworm prevention and flea tick prevention. They are microchipped and spayed/neuter has been completed. NEED ADOPTOR OR FOSTER ASAP. Nova is about six years old. She is blind. Her current human, Haley, loves her with her whole heart and would have kept her forever if life had let her. Haley is pregnant. Due in July. No support system to manage a senior blind dog and a newborn at the same time. The easy answer would have been 'take her to a shelter.' We knew the shelters were full. A senior blind dog goes to the back of the line at any of them, if she gets in at all. So we did what AAF does. We set up a foster-of-record arrangement. Haley stays with Nova until the baby comes. AAF pays for her food, her supplies, her vet care. AAF actively looks for the right adopter. A local groomer donated free grooming so Nova is shiny and ready for her adoption photos. Here is what Haley wants you to know about Nova. She gets around. She is not slowing down. She still plays with her toys. She loves car rides. She loves cats. She gets along with other dogs really well. She is blind, not anxious. She moves through her familiar space confidently and adapts to new spaces if you give her time. She is housebroken. She does not bark much. What Nova needs is a patient adopter who has had a senior dog before. If you have a cat, even better. If you take road trips and want a quiet co-pilot, she is your dog. She still has plenty of life in her. Haley is not surrendering Nova because she stopped loving her. She is doing the harder thing. She is asking for help so Nova ends up where she belongs instead of in a kennel. If that family is you, let's talk. This litter was found in the woods by a Good Samaritan coming home from work one evening. Thankfully one had escaped the cage they were locked in and found his way to the road where she seen him and found the others hidden behind a stump. They are all very different from each other making it difficult to even estimate the breed so I am basically just trying apple phone that is usually wrong but is all Ive got at this time. I do believe they will be small to medium size. They will not be available until after they have been fully vaccinated, neutered/spay and microchipped. You can still put in your application now to meet these precious little souls.
