Story
Montana (aka Pete) is a six year old mini aussie mix that weighs 30 pounds.  He is a bashful, happy, friendly, very sweet fellow that needs a quiet, stable home.  Montana gets along well with other dogs and is so mild mannered I assume he is OK with cats too.  He loves kids and travels well.  Montana is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative and is on monthly flea and heartworm preventive.  His tax deductible adoption fee is a donation to the rescue in the amount of $500.March 9, 2026, 12:22 am

Story
Don't be fooled by my good looks!!! I am a female red merle mini with blue eyes and I live up to the sterotype. I pack a lot of punch in my 23 lbs and need an experienced owner. However, as the ONLY pet (no dogs, no cats) and no children, I will be your sweet, playful, loyal and fun companion. I know I will take a special home but I also know there is one out there just for me. If you think you can pass the tests (and there will be a lot of those) then please apply for me at forrescue.net Until then, I will be doing my cute spins and sits, getting belly rubs, and barking at all the other dogs (that I'm separated from) at my foster home. Thank you for considering me. Note: I am fostered in Huntsville, Alabama and am NOT available for transport so anyone interested in making their life more exciting with me in it must come to Huntsville to meet me.

Story
Marmaduke is a big goofy lovebug! He adores children and other dogs. He is very curious about cats and chickens and is probably best in a home without those (or where he can be separated from them). He is about 1 year old and has been in rescue all his life. He had a medical issue as a puppy that required surgery and he is healed from that but needs 24/7 dog door access - he is doggie door trained. He will do best in a home with a secure fenced yard, another dog or dogs to play with that are not tiny since he's so big, and respectful animal-loving children that will love him as much as he loves them. If you are interested in Marmaduke, please fill out an application at our website: forrescue.net He is fostered in the Huntsville, AL area and we have determined because of his need for 24/7 dog door access he should be adopted locally in case an adopter cannot manage his condition and he must return to the rescue. We only want what is best for this amazingly sweet boy!

Story
Meet Chevy, an outdoorsy dog with a heart full of love and a natural cuddlebug when the time is right. Chevy’s journey began when he was found struggling to survive on the side of the road. He welcomed help and has since made an incredible transformation, gaining weight and learning to embrace life as a pet. From barely surviving to now thriving, Chevy’s story is one of resilience and sweetness. Chevy is a stunning dog—his photographs truly don’t do him justice! At approximately 45 pounds, he’s a beautiful blend of charm and sweetness. He has a laid-back attitude and is easygoing, though he may be shy at first. Once he warms up to you, he’s incredibly loving and gentle. Chevy gets along well with Chase, who was found around the same time, and Chevy is always up for some good companionship. However, other dogs sometimes try to take advantage of his gentle nature, so he’d do best with a neutral or easygoing playmate who respects his kind heart. Chevy loves to please and responds well to positive reinforcement, especially when treats are involved! He’s housebroken, crate-trained, and loves nothing more than a comfy, fluffy bed to curl up on. Despite his youthful energy, he doesn’t chew, which is a great bonus for a dog his age. Chevy would thrive in a quiet home where he can trot around in a fenced-in yard, receive plenty of hugs, kisses, and love, and enjoy a calm environment. He’s the kind of dog who would love to go everywhere with his human companion and soak up all the love and attention he deserves. If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing companion who will bring joy and loyalty to your life, Chevy could be your perfect match! if you wish to adopt Chevy please go to our website to start the process by completing our pre-adoption application https://www.southernskiesrescue.org/adoption-application Chevy is fully medically vetted plus microchipped and one prevention.
