Story
Puppy Bea was rescued along with her sister from Northern Arizona where they were left to fend for themselves in the cold with scant food sources.  These puppies were only 6 weeks old at the time.  Help A Dog Smile rescued them just in time.  The other two siblings did not make it. Thankfully Bea and her sister are now safe and flourishing in their foster home.with plenty of great dog role models! Bea is a healthy pup full of fun! Typically she plays for a bit then naps a bit then plays again...and do not forget her favorite activity....eating! She is a young growing pup looking for a forever family to commit to her training, exercise needs and need for plenty of snuggles:) She is now ready for a home of her very own.    Bea is crate trained and sleeps in a crate at night.  She is also potty trained using puppy pads and is just starting to learn the doggy door. Please remember that Noel isa puppy, though, so will require continued training. Bea  sleeps through the night and if she has to go out she will gently wake up with a soft whine....out she goes then right back to bed she goes! Must haves for Bea is a securely fenced yard and a family committed to continuing her training. Bea has had her first set of puppy shots.  The rescue will cover the cost of her spay, microchip and her remaining vaccinations. Her adoption fee of $350 helps offset the cost of medical expenses. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think Bea could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application:  https://www.helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application/   *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up.  February 26, 2024, 7:05 pm

Story
Meet Rosie, an awesome 9-month-old Australian Shepherd mix puppy. Rosie came into rescue as a scared little puppy but you'd never know it if you met her today. She is front and center and adoptions events and enjoys meeting new people. She would do great in a household that will keep her busy and ensure she doesn't get bored. Rosie gets along great with dogs of all sizes. She is her best self in the company of other dogs, so another dog in the home is a must.   Rosie is crate trained, house trained with a dog door, knows how to sit, and loves car rides.    Rosie’s adopters must have a secure, fenced-in yard, and be 100% committed to training and loving her for the rest of her years. Rosie is spayed, vaccines updated and microchipped.  Rosie’s adoption fee of $350 helps with the medical needs of the rescue. If you live in the Phoenix metro area, have another dog, and think Rosie could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application *.   *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up. February 26, 2024, 7:05 pm

Story
Sparky is a purebred Australian Shepherd that I have raised since a puppy. I obtained him directly from a breeder, and he is AKC registered. He is not neutered. He is 2 years, 5 months. Blue merle. Both of his eyes are partially brown and partially blue. He is beautiful. He has been a great dog. We recently moved to a smaller house with a small yard (much smaller yard than previous) due to a divorce, I now have to work far more hours to make ends meet, and my kids have serious medical conditions eating up what little time I have. I have not been able to give Sparky the exercise he needs. He recently has had two biting incidents, both minor injures. I worry his behavior will get worse if he cannot get the patience and exercise he needs sooner rather than later. I don't see my circumstances improving soon enough and feel he would do better with someone who has time and patience to train.

Story
GOING TO BE SURRENDERED MARCH 1. Max is a lovey, energetic, playful, funny, pure breed red merle Australian shepherd. We got him from a breeder when he was 8 weeks old and he has been by our sides ever since. He loves to be with people, play fetch or frisbee forever, and go in the water. We had him for 4 years before having our first child and he just isn't adjusting well to the new baby. He had never been around kids before and really needs to be in a home with older children or no kids. He did well with our older mini aussie, but we had her before we got him. He did okay with my moms dogs who he also knew from birth but overall and with any dogs he hasn't known he is very aggressive. He needs to go to a home where he will be the only dog and will get a lot of attention and exercise. He is somewhat trained and will respond to sit, lay, drop, come through your legs, and is house broken of course. He is easily trained if you are very consistent with the training.

Walter has been sitting in boarding since Jan 2022,he is just a young pup that needs a patient loving home. Walter is around 2 yrs old, this fluffy sweet boy can be a little shy with new people at first, but warms up quickly. He can be very affectionate, shower you with kisses. He LOVES to play ball and play in the water. He rides well in the car, walks great on the leash, knows sit and takes his treats gently. He loves to have lots of pets. He is a favorite to many volunteers, Walter would do best in a home with NO kids. Walter is dog friendly. No cats. He is up to date on vaccines, neutered. Come meet Walter!!
