Story
Hey, I'm Elijah! Are you looking for a loyal and loving companion to go on adventures together? I might be just the one for you! I've had experience living in a home, so I already have good manners and I'm potty trained! I'm smart and eager to learn more though, so I hope we can keep working on my training together! I prefer to live with people or other large dogs, no cats please. While I've made a lot of improvement already, I will need a family who can help me get in shape so I can live my best life! I can't wait for our walks and playtime together! I am currently hanging out in a foster home. If you would like to know more and meet me, please reach out to hwb@aawl.org.AAWL requires that all adopted dogs leave with a leash and collar and all cats leave in a carrier.

Walter has been sitting in boarding since Jan 2022,he is just a young pup that needs a patient loving home. Walter is around 2 yrs old, this fluffy sweet boy can be a little shy with new people at first, but warms up quickly. He can be very affectionate, shower you with kisses. He LOVES to play ball and play in the water. He rides well in the car, walks great on the leash, knows sit and takes his treats gently. He loves to have lots of pets. He is a favorite to many volunteers, Walter would do best in a home with NO kids. Walter is dog friendly. No cats. He is up to date on vaccines, neutered. Come meet Walter!! Don't miss out, come meet Walter, he is so worth it. Story
Dolly was on the streets and taken then to a large shelter that we transported her to. She had health issues, but we resolved them and got a second test to confirm she is now healthy and ready for adoption. She likes a friendly dog to play with in the house, and she also would enjoy walks and car rides. She is used to a doggy door, but also needs to learn your house and routine. She doesn't shed a lot.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Jack will be placed in the Phoenix metro area, for proximity to our rescue (home checks, follow up visits, visit to finalize adoption) and for access to our veterinarian. Sorry, no exceptions. ** Adoption begins with a Foster-To-Adopt arrangement and, once Basic and Intermediate Obedience training are completed, adoption can be finalized. ** Jack has come a very long way! He loves life and has made so many new friends.   Jack *must have* at least one happy, friendly, same-size dog friend in his new family. Jack takes treats gently and loves to run and play hard!   Jack requires a large private, fenced yard to enjoy off-leash play. Apartment life is not appropriate for him as he likes to share his space with humans that he knows well.   If you believe you're a possible match for Jack, please complete our online adoption application!   We encourage you to register on our site and "Favorite" the dog(s) that interest you, so that you will be notified when bio, photos, or status are updated. "Companion animal" means, needs at least one other friendly, playful dog that lives full-time in the same household. "Fenced yard" means, a backyard that is adjacent to and connected with your residence. (It does not mean a nearby fenced area/dog park.)  Gates must have padlocks and thresholds (cement or buried pavers to prevent digging.) Yard and patio must be free of debris and have room for dogs to run and play *on a lawn and/or in a very shaded area.* Please do not invite us to your home if you have not yet landscaped your yard! “Swimming pool” means a private, in-ground, year-round pool that is available to the dog daily or multiple times per week. We do not place dogs in situations where there are "drained" or empty swimming pools, which are a fall hazard and contribute to the propogation of mosquitos. Last and not least, we DO NOT adopt to students as we have found that they often do not know or anticipate where life will take them. Discussion about a dog - including scheduling of a home check or other dialogue - cannot occur until we have received your completed adoption application. NO EXCEPTIONS. Thank you!   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 28, 2023, 4:43 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. YES we're still accepting applications for Lenny.  He is a sweet, playful guy that loves affection and pets.  Lenny is a fan favorite, bright and funny with a luscious coat and beautiful blue eyes.  He's eager to please and is a quick learner.  He does not need a companion dog but would not mind having someone his size to run around with.  This little boy is a gem!!!   Lenny will be placed in the Phoenix metro area, for proximity to our rescue (home checks, follow up visits, visit to finalize adoption) and for access to our veterinarian. Sorry, no exceptions. Our adoptions begin with a Foster-To-Adopt period, which is not feasible with remote placements.   If you believe you're a possible match for this dog - based on the detailed profile posted on our website - please complete our online adoption application!    We encourage you to register on our site and "Favorite" dog(s) that interest you, so that you will be notified when bio, photos, or status are updated. You can also opt to receive notifications for your favorite breed(s). "Fenced yard" means, a backyard that is adjacent to and connected with your residence and owned by you or your landlord. Story
Hello, my name is Benny! I'm a 2 year old Australian Shepherd mix. I absolutely love people. I am happy doing anything and everything with my people. I do have some strong hearding instincts that other pets and small children don't appreciate, so I should be in a family with older children and a proper introduction with another dog. I am crate trained for bedtime or when I have to be home alone. Benny will be fully vetted and is ready for his new home!

Story
Obi came to us for training due to his stranger danger and no training. We have worked hard on his new greeting behaviors, outlet for his energy and training. He is a moderately active dog with great potential, he will reward his new owners with a very dedicated life of love and a dog that loves to be active! He would be best in a home with just him maybe another female dog around his age and a quiet home. (not a lot of parties, NO kids or grandkids, etc) I would love to see him in a home that likes to hike, play fetch and cuddle on the couch or maybe agility! He does well with management/training and exposure to new things, he will need continuing education on training for impulse control and allowing the time he needs to meet new people. Once he has an understanding of what is expected of him when meeting new people he is great with them! Easy in the crate, and house setting and out in the back yard. He loves to curl up after a good play session and cuddle on the couch with his loved ones. See Obi's profile here: https://azbcr.org/Adopt/AvailableBorderCollies/RescueDetails.aspx?rid=5537
