Drifter LOVES going for car rides! He needs a slow introduction to dogs, but has done great with our dogs once he felt safe. He is calm indoors and happy to just keep you company, but is always waiting for the next chance to go on an adventure in the car! He could be a good farm dog working with cattle too!

Story
Bandit is a very sweet compassionate dog who’s had his shots but aren’t up to date, he’s very laid back kinda just lays down and chills when you’re not giving him attention. Needs a home where someone is with him 24/7 as he has separation anxiety and freaks out if he’s alone for too long (although he doesn’t need constant attention). He’s super great with new people, kids, dogs, he needs a slow introduction with cats but he currently lives with one so I’d say he’s good with them. He’s a lover and a great addition to a welcoming family I just don’t have the time for him and he’d be better with someone who can give him what he needs. Dog food, bowls, and leash will come with him on pickup so you’ll have a good head start.

Story
Jack will be placed in the Phoenix metro area, for proximity to our rescue (home checks, follow up visits, visit to finalize adoption) and for access to our veterinarian. Sorry, no exceptions. ** Adoption begins with a Foster-To-Adopt arrangement and, once Basic and Intermediate Obedience training are completed, adoption can be finalized. ** Jack has come a very long way! He loves life and has made so many new friends.   Jack *must have* at least one happy, friendly, same-size dog friend in his new family. Jack takes treats gently and loves to run and play hard!   Jack requires a large private, fenced yard to enjoy off-leash play. Apartment life is not appropriate for him as he likes to share his space with humans that he knows well.   If you believe you're a possible match for Jack, please complete our online adoption application!   We encourage you to register on our site and "Favorite" the dog(s) that interest you, so that you will be notified when bio, photos, or status are updated. "Companion animal" means, needs at least one other friendly, playful dog that lives full-time in the same household. "Fenced yard" means, a backyard that is adjacent to and connected with your residence. (It does not mean a nearby fenced area/dog park.)  Gates must have padlocks and thresholds (cement or buried pavers to prevent digging.) Yard and patio must be free of debris and have room for dogs to run and play *on a lawn and/or in a very shaded area.* Please do not invite us to your home if you have not yet landscaped your yard! “Swimming pool” means a private, in-ground, year-round pool that is available to the dog daily or multiple times per week. We do not place dogs in situations where there are "drained" or empty swimming pools, which are a fall hazard and contribute to the propogation of mosquitos. Last and not least, we DO NOT adopt to students as we have found that they often do not know or anticipate where life will take them. Discussion about a dog - including scheduling of a home check or other dialogue - cannot occur until we have received your completed adoption application. NO EXCEPTIONS. Thank you!   May 17, 2024, 11:14 am

YES we're still accepting applications for Lenny.  He is a sweet, playful guy that loves affection and pets.  Lenny is a fan favorite, bright and funny with a luscious coat and beautiful blue eyes.  He's eager to please and is a quick learner.  He does not need a companion dog but would not mind having someone his size to run around with.  This little boy is a gem!!!   Lenny will be placed in the Phoenix metro area, for proximity to our rescue (home checks, follow up visits, visit to finalize adoption) and for access to our veterinarian. Sorry, no exceptions. Our adoptions begin with a Foster-To-Adopt period, which is not feasible with remote placements.   If you believe you're a possible match for this dog - based on the detailed profile posted on our website - please complete our online adoption application!    We encourage you to register on our site and "Favorite" dog(s) that interest you, so that you will be notified when bio, photos, or status are updated. You can also opt to receive notifications for your favorite breed(s). "Fenced yard" means, a backyard that is adjacent to and connected with your residence and owned by you or your landlord. (It does not mean a nearby fenced area or dog park or apartment/condo dog play area.)  Gates must have padlocks and thresholds (cement or buried pavers to prevent digging.) Story
“Princess Grace” is an easy, happy, and very lovable dog. She LOVES walks and does beautifully on leash - even with lots of "dog traffic" she is a superstar! Grace gets very excited to go for a walk and enjoys every minute of it. So it is extra fun to watch her arrive back at home and do crazy zoomies in the backyard. She also enjoys car rides, and has a lot of fun playing hide and seek with her foster mom.   Grace's foster mom describes her as "a dream dog" -- she lounges happily while foster mom does desk work, and loves to accompany her for garden chores. Grace thrives on cuddles and attention. She is a beautiful, interesting companion and a bit of an "old soul" with a silly, joyful spirit. Grace is *exceptionally* well-behaved in the home. While trustworthy and independent, she also likes check in for pets and bellyrubs.   Grace currently weighs a fluffy 55 pounds, with a healthy goal weight of a bit less than 50 pounds.  We were told that Grace became possessive of food and toys in her prior home, and that young children made her anxious. She will SHINE as an only dog with access to a large, fenced backyard of her own. (Not a candidate for apartment living or a dog-parks lifestyle.) Grace maintains a cat- and bunny-free yard, but is not an obsessive barker - even with one living nearby… Princess Grace's new home will be in the Phoenix metro area, for proximity to our rescue (home checks, follow up visits, visit to finalize adoption) and access to our veterinarian. Sorry, no exceptions! Our adoptions begin with a Foster-To-Adopt period, which is not feasible with remote placements. If you believe you're a good match for her, please complete our adoption application ,  detailing your experience with training and socializing herding breeds.   • "Fenced yard" means, a backyard that is adjacent to and connected with your residence and owned by you or your landlord. Story
Bandit is a 9 year old awesome dog that alerts you when anyone is near your home. We are going to be very particular where he goes. He is being rehomed only due to our busy schedules. We feel he would be happiest in a home where he gets out more. He has been with us since 8 weeks. He doesn't have issues and is house trained. We just feel we are letting him down by being on the go so much. We are looking for a family with time for snuggles and more time to get him out! He was on 5 acres and able to roam freely outside with a German Shepard. Now he is confined to a home in Arizona where he is mostly indoors. He is very chill! He can be trusted to be left alone, but we would love to see him in a home where he can get out more and with a family that will give him all the attention he deserves (even though he doesn't require it). Would love to see him with a family or couple who is home and outdoors more than we are able to give him currently.

These pups are in Mesa, Arizona too!

Story
Oliver is a sweet almost old man. He is about 9 years old now, got him when he was five and I’ve had him for about 4 years now. He is REACTIVE, NOT aggressive. He would do best in a home without other dogs (cats and other animals are fine.) A home with a backyard for him to get some exercise would also do him some good but it’s not a dealbreaker. He is sweet, friendly, and super cuddly with everyone he meets inside the home. On walks, he will lunge and bark at mainly dogs, he’s pretty okay with strangers depending on how close they get ( he is a bit protective.) Even though he will sometimes lunge at strangers, as soon as he’s allowed to actually walk up and meet someone he’s super friendly and wants all the belly and head scratches. He’s a good sweet and cuddly boy I have just fallen on hard times and can’t afford a pet at this time.
