Gypsy would be a great addition to an active family or a home with another playful pup!All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $150 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.

I adopted Gizmo two years ago from a shelter close to me for my birthday. He’s 2 years old with his birthday coming up on December 22. He’s such a good boy and loves people! He loves love also, and will tap your hand to let you know he wants pet. I’m looking for adopters that will give him all the love he could ever need and to always make sure they have time for him. He trains well with snacks. The higher the protein, the more attention he’ll pay. He probably won’t adapt well the first couple days (he might be sad and not motivated) so please make sure you’re very gentle with him and loving. I just can’t afford things anymore and unfortunately that means I have to give him up. Whomever adopt Gizmo, please take good care of him and don’t change his name.

To schedule a time to meet this puppy, please email ARL-Adoption@arl-iowa.org.---- Had a rough start to life but is beginning to open up in her foster home and show her beautiful personality - A typical puppy who is curious about everything and likes toys - Still working on being comfortable with a leash and being comfortable outdoors, so that will be something for her to continue to work on with her new family - Tends to be submissive but warms up to people quickly - An incredibly sweet youngster who will be a wonderful addition to a patient, loving family who can continue to work with her on confidence-building so she can enjoy all the good things in life! - Came in with several littermates and all of them looked completely different! DNA testing would be fun to see what marvelous mix of breeds she is! - Has a malocclusion (where her teeth aren't perfectly aligned when her mouth is closed) and will likely need dental work in the future (more info at ARL) The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
