To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- Shy pup who may need extra time to warm up to new people and things; will likely open up in a home environment with patience and time and may prefer a calm, quiet home - Once she feels comfortable, she loves spending time with people - Has been working on confidence-building and relationship-building, and we have seen improvements; would benefit from a family who can continue working with her on these things - Walks nicely on a leash - Doing well with potty training in her foster home and has only had a few accidents; may still need a little help in her new home to get her all the way there - Has been fantastic with kids (school-age and teens) in her foster home - Has been doing well with the dogs in her foster home now that she feels comfortable with them; at first she was concerned about them being around her food, but that anxiety and guarding lessened after about a week; will likely need time to adjust to new dogs, and management of food (such as feeding in different rooms) may be be needed until she has time to form relationships (dog intro recommended) - Loves the cat in her foster home, and they often cuddle together All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. I spent 10 weeks learning great stuff with the students and now I'm ready for a real job - like loving you! I learn quickly, already know commands and I'm house trained. Now, before we go any further into my story.... let me warn you...it contains heartache and then some puppies, and fear and even some hopelessness. We do go to the top of the mountain as well, so hold in for the wild ride of my life:) maybe you will get to be my happily ever after.... So I was born a poor border collie mixed pup, in the miserable heat, in a disgusting backyard. To a mama that could have been so beautiful, if she had been brushed and cared for.... Fast forward thru almost 4 YEARS of misery and puppies, we were saved!!! I was saved with 9 newborn puppies and my sister/daughter/ cousin, etccc Princess and HER 9 PUPPIES TOO! We landed safe and sound at the rescue! We are now gorgeous girls and all pups grown and adopted! Now its time for me!! I am a single gal, and really don't like other dogs in my business. I want to be the Queen of the house :D Adopt me and I will fill YOUR home with my love and devotion.
