Story
Meet Powder & Frosty — Two Extraordinary Brothers Looking for Their Forever HomesPowder and Frosty are visually and hearing-impaired brothers who were surrendered to a shelter in Franklin. After spending several weeks waiting for help, Paws New England said yes immediately—and we’re so glad we did. These sweet boys are approximately 4 months old and currently around 25–30 lbs. Despite their disabilities, they are truly delightful puppies who actively seek out human affection and love being part of the action. Right now, they’re staying on a farm in Tennessee, where they’re working with a trainer and being carefully observed as they interact with other dogs. We’ll continue to share updates as we learn more about their personalities and progress.Because Powder and Frosty rely on touch, scent, and routine to navigate the world, they will be adopted into separate homes, each with a confident, happy, sighted/hearing canine companion to help guide them and build their confidence. This is essential for their success. What their ideal homes look like:A friendly, well-adjusted dog already in the homeA fenced yard is preferred so they can safely enjoy outdoor timeExperienced adopters (especially those familiar with special-needs dogs) may be considered for alternative setupsA patient, loving family committed to helping a special pup thriveWe are still getting to know Powder and Frosty, but what’s already clear is that they are incredibly loving little souls who deserve homes filled with compassion, structure, and joy.If you’re interested in learning more about one of these angels, we encourage you to apply. Sometimes the most special dogs come with extra needs—and even bigger hearts.Name: FrostyBreed: Australian ShepherdSex: MaleAge: 16 weeks (estimated)Weight: 30 lbs as of 2/12/2026Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: YesGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $550.00 (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently: Rhode Island - 2/27/2026IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.
