Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- St. Paul, NE Meet Rip and Ruger! They are bonded brothers and will need to be adopted together. They are being surrendered because they are not adjusting well to their new home in the city. They need to find a new furever home as soon as possible. Rip (red merle with brown eyes) is an 1 year old Australian Shepherd that weighs around 22 lbs. He is neutered and up to date on shots, but isn’t on heartworm preventatives. Rip is great with kids and cats but can be territorial around other dogs. He is very loving, playful and loves to snuggle! Ruger (red merle with blue eyes) is an 1 year old Australian Shepherd that weighs around 35 lbs. He is neutered and up to date on shots but isn’t on heartworm preventatives. Ruger is great with kids and cats but can be territorial around other dogs. He is very loving, playful and loves to snuggle! If you think you can provide a great home for Rip and Ruger, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $300 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Rip and Ruger. Owner’s Contact Information: April Summers at (308) 414-1697 or aejvsummers@yahoo.com.

Story
Ruger is the most loving dog out there. Loves to be exercised and to cuddle at night. Unfortunately we live in town where lots of other dogs walk by. When Ruger was a puppy he was attacked by a stray pit bull and since then he shows occasional aggression towards certain dogs. For example we opened our gate to our backyard for a split second and he darted and began fighting another dog. No serious injuries to either dog happened but for this reason I cannot keep him. He is 7 years old and we gave him all the attention on earth until our daughter was born 3 years Ago. He needs more attention and more room to run now. We do have another small dog he’s always gotten along with and does get along with other dogs if introduced slowly. He’s always been amazing with our children. But for his aggressive tendencies I think he’d enjoy a home with no other dogs and no children.

Story
I have been blessed with the Aussie intense stare, punctuated by a penetrating blue eye. My lovely coat will take some extra care and grooming, but it will be totally worth it. My bobbed tail completes the traditional Aussie look and characteristics. I'm looking for a partner in life. I could be a great truck buddy or just a friend to join in everything that you can think of. I'm one smart fella. There won't be much that I won't be able to learn. Work my brain and exercise my body and I will be right by your side every step of the way. ***I have been microchipped.

Story
Nessa & Leabelle Located in Sidney NE area Nessa is 8ish years old Leabelle is 4ish years old Australian Shepherd fusions Dog friendly Cats unknown  Ok with kids with dog manners House trained Crate trained and know basic commands Insanely sweet and friendly  Very charismatic  Fully vetted  Nessa is approx 40-45lbs Leabelle is approx 35lbs These girls for whatever reason cannot seem to find a loving home. They keep getting overlooked by others wanting younger dogs or super vintage dogs. However let me tell you Vintage and middle age puppers are FANTASTIC! They don’t have any bad puppy behaviors, they aren’t super energetic, they are so thankful for the loving safe home you provide and to be a member of a family again. These girls were adopted from the shelter when Leabelle was just a puppy. Then when they were an inconvenience due to moving (you know to a mystery state that doesn’t allow dogs), they were surrendered back to the same shelter without a second thought. The owner was told they could be immediately killed, he didn’t care, signed them over without a care in the world. He turned around and left without a second thought as these girls had to be physically encouraged (pulled) to leave the spot where they were they seemed cemented to the floor, waiting for their owner, their whole world, their entire life, to come back. Imagine the confusion and heartache when they were put in hot, non temp controlled kennel run, in a crowded and loud shelter, the stress of the dogs barking and pleading for their lives is palpable for humans I can’t even imagine the impact on the dogs, dogs smell death so imagine the thoughts racing through the heads of these amazing girl, it makes my stomach upset. A plea immediately went out to rescues because if not immediately tagged they were going to be euthanized, the shelter was full. We couldn’t stand it and we pulled them. Since their arrival they have been anxiously awaiting a permanent family, or even long term temp family where they could actually settle in! However they just keep being overlooked.    These girls are bonded we believe a mom (Nessa) and daughter (Leabelle) and at Nessa’s age we feel splitting them up would be beyond stressful and cruel. We are looking for a home for both girls TOGETHER. We know this is a big ask but that’s our role, to save the dogs that need the “big ask” so here we are!    If you’re considering adopting or fostering please consider this amazing pair of sisters who need a break. They deserve to be able to settle in somewhere and not be juggled around. They deserve to be members of a family again. They are the perfect size, they are house trained, they know commands, they are fantastic. They are just waiting for their perfect FURever.   To Contact Us Message us through our website http://www.highplainspaw.org Message the Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/HighPlainsPAW Join and contact us through our FOSTER GROUP: https://www.facebook.com/groups/836373273962895/?ref=share Fill out our Adoption Application at https://www.highplainspaw.org/adoption-application Fill out our Foster Application at  https://www.highplainspaw.org/foster-application Email us at highplainspaw@gmail.com Call our VOICEMAIL at (402)957-1578 (PLEASE USE THIS AS THE LAST FORM OF COMMUNICATION) $150.00 + $200.00 = $350.00 Adoption Fee  (Which is considered a non refundable donation and being we are a 501c3 organization it is tax deductible. Story
Hunter (2nd pupper born) Located in Chadron NEAustralian Shepherd, Cattle Dog, Lab fusion is our best guess Born 10/20/2021Dog friendly Cat friendliness unknown but likely fine Kid friendly but these are puppies so please remember they will have typical puppy behaviorHousetrained and knows how to use a doggie door NOT crate or obedience trained, THEY ARE BABIES, very smart and easy to motivate babiesUp to date on vaccines and age appropriate vetting40-45lbs approx Please remember that this is a puppy! This means he will have typical puppy behavior. He will jump, nip, play bite, chew, have accidents etc. Remember he is a BABY! Hunter is a very social and friendly little man. He absolutely loves to climb, run and play more than anything in the world. He is such a typical little boy in dog form. He would be great for playing in the yard, camping, hikes or adventures of any sort. He is a puppy you need to watch because he has a mischievous streak and if he wants to do something fun and no one is doing anything, he has no issue creating his own fun, which sometimes isn't a plus.  He is very active but when he gets tired, his favorite place to sleep in on top of you and he loves to cuddle once his energy is expended! He will absolutely do best with another playful dog to show him the ropes!   Life Story When we saw Autumn on Facebook the night of October 11th being sold as "pregnant for $30.00" our stomachs sank. We knew that her life hadn't been good and if we didn't step in it could go from bad to worse. We found a temp local foster who was happy to jump into action on the 12th and get her to safety. When she was picked up she wreaked of smoke and was brought out with a dirty collar and a thick chain. It made us so sad she just seemed so defeated. However that changed almost immediately when she got to the temp fosters home. Bath a healthy meal (she was eating "Gravy Train" , please don't feed your dog this). She got lots of love and pets and learned she was going to be ok, that life was looking up. About 2 weeks after she began her new life she welcomed 7 lil ladies and 4 lil gents into the world. While we are thrilled this will be her last litter we are happy to welcome her delightful little blessings to HPPAW. The day after she delivered they moved to their long term foster. They settled in and have thrived in their 7 weeks of life. Now their time with the foster is coming to a close and they are ready to find their FURever families, is that you??? Please remember that this is a puppy, this means he will have typical puppy behavior. He will jump, nip, play bite, chew, have accidents etc. Remember he is a BABY!
