Story
Foster notes, 4/17/24:Rocky is a sweet, loving, and very simple dog. He is the most happy when he is just hanging out with his family, getting lots of belly rubs, and going on walks. He doesn’t know how to play with toys but we are working on that! He is house trained and knows the command sit. He walks extremely well on the leash. He never barks and he is well-behaved when left alone. We typically take him out on the leash to go to the bathroom 3-4 times a day and that has worked perfectly for him. He does not like to be locked in his crate but he does sleep in his crate when we are not home and during the night. Rocky does have a little separation anxiety. He is a little hesitant around other dogs and tends to assert his alpha status. His typical mannerism is to sit and stare at the other dogs for long periods of time, or move in front of us and quietly growl to “protect” us. Although we have had no major aggression issues, we can obviously tell he would like to be the only dog in the household. We are working on limiting this behavior though! Rocky has become my best friend in the last two weeks and I really hope we can find him his forever home because he deserves it!!

Story
Lex is super sweet and gentle.  He is great with other dogs and children.  Unfortunately, he tested positive for Cushings Disease.  Basically, that means he has to be on medication.  Other than that, he is such a wonderful, easy dog.  He weighs 42 pounds and would love your New Best Friend. ##1995044##

Story
Bay is such a sweetheart! She loves the 11-year-old blind Boston Terrier in her foster home and enjoys taking naps with him and the senior cat! She has a gift with other dogs and is great with everyone she meets. She has a solid foundation of training, walks well on a leash, but loves the opportunity to run through the woods! Her recall skills are also good, so not to worry, she won't get lost! Shes friendly with people, but tries to "herd" by barking at young kids (as any typical Aussie would!), so a home with older kids would be best. Bay is totally potty-trained and crate trained although she rarely uses a crate in her foster home because she is so well-mannered. Bay loves her toys, especially the floppy, soft ones that she can shake! Since she likes to herd, she is always making sure the anyone in the room in accounted for and on hikes if someone falls behind, she will be there to make sure they catch up! She has the cutest "smile" that she saves for those she loves the most, where she curls her lips up to show her teeth. She especially loves to have her belly rubbed and will smile a lot for that! Bay can't wait to find her perfect family and start making memories and enjoying life together!

Story
We adopted Draper from a shelter in VA at 8 weeks old. His mother and siblings were found under a trailer very sick in the cold. Sadly, His mother and 4 of his siblings died. Draper is incredibly smart and loving. He has anxiety that we started treating at 2 years old. We have an older dog in the home and they have occasional issues but in general cohabitate. Draper also plays with day care dogs in a rural setting with an experienced dog trainer. We often visit the mountains and notice a complete positive change with Draper when he is out of an urban setting. He is happy and playful and free. We believe he needs a more rural setting than our urban home.

Story
Azalea is a tiny, sweet girl who is just made for loving! She loves her chew toys and playing with her brother, and has never met a stick she didn't like. Azalea can be a little timid at first, but she warms up quickly. She's curious and her feisty spirit is definitely coming through. She loves to rest under chairs and coffee tables and in laps. She is working on training and has almost mastered sit. She is also becoming more comfortable walking on a leash. Azalea is great with kids and, while she hasn't met a cat yet, she gets along with her foster's big dog. Azalea is working on potty training and will relieve herself when brought into the grass. She is beginning to understand to go to the door when she wants to go potty. With a lot of positive reinforcement and treats when I do my business in the right place, I will master potty training quickly. Azalea sleeps through the night in her crate, and she will go to sleep pretty quickly once it's time. Azalea has seen a vet, got two sets of shots already, and has her microchip. She's ready to go. Azalea has the sweetest white fur on her chest and paws, and her little face is just the cutest. She will bring such love and fun to your family!
