Meet Rocky, the incredibly handsome boy who’s spent most of the past year in foster care, and boy, does he know how to steal hearts! Recently back at BAS for a few days, he got the chance to go on a DDO (Dog Day Out) and made some new friends – who were all too happy to shower him with attention. Rocky is the sweetest boy, though he does have a bit of an explorer’s spirit. He pulls a little on the leash, but it’s only because there’s a whole world of smells out there waiting for him to discover!A word to the wise: Rocky is strong and has a mind of his own. He’ll need someone who can keep him on track (and maybe keep his curiosity in check!). But in the car? He’s an angel. Seriously, this guy’s got road-trip vibes down.Rocky is a selective fellow when it comes to his furry and human friends – he’s not shy about telling you who he likes. He’s definitely more of a `circle of trust` kind of guy, and unfortunately, cats and small animals don’t make the cut. He’s also a little cautious around strangers, but once he knows you, he’s all in. And yes, he’s potty trained, so you don’t have to worry about him making any “oops” moments.If you think you can match Rocky’s energy and give him the loving, attentive home he deserves, he might just be your new best friend. Just be prepared: when he’s in your circle, he’s in it for good!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bella is a total sweetheart.  She simply adores to be with her people.  She gets along well with all of the people and dogs she has met, she is attentive and gentle to all.  She does love to race around the yard with the other large breed dog in her foster home, but she is also gentle with the small breed dogs too.  She would love a family that isn't gone for long hours, and that will include her in all of their fun- she adores to visit the local Lowe's Home Improvement.  Once she is secured in the back seat of the car, she rides like a pro.  She loves children, but would do best with children 6 years of age and older.   Bella is currently on a diet, she would do best with a home that will continue to provide appropriate exercise and food volume.  She is on her way to getting back to her optimum healthy weight.    Bella has been fully vaccinated, spayed and microchipped- all she needs is her forever family.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 29, 2025, 9:38 pm

Hello my name is Journey. I am an Australian Shepherd mix. I am a lovable companion and looking for a new home. Quick facts: * Male, neutered * 9 years old * 55 pounds * House trained * Good with owners, adults * Fully vaccinated * Healthy I have been a loyal dog to my owners since being rescued eight years ago in Raleigh, NC. At first, I was a great companion to my single owner. Then, when my owner became married, I enjoyed the new relationship. A few weeks ago, a new baby was born and now things are too busy here, so I am currently staying with my grandparents. I enjoy being a great companion. I can be rather independent too. You might find me sitting next to you on the sofa, or more often than not you may find that I am resting in a quiet place of the house for a long nap. I do like to go outside a couple times a day. I like to play once in a while by pulling on a rope toy. I don’t like loud noises - such as thunderstorms - or strange sounds. I am not comfortable around other dogs and cats.
