This handsome boy is Benny, a true Southern Gent. He is a gorgeous Tri boy. His mom is tri colored and his dad is a blue merle. Both parents are purebred Mini Aussies. They will get their first vet exam, vaccine and fecal around February 21 and then will be ready for their forever homes! Adoption fee includes first vet exam, first puppy vaccine, fecal, chip and spay, when of age at one of our vet partners. Should you decide to use your vet, that cost is your responsibility. Story
We welcome Quinn and Finn to ACF! They came to us from a hoarding case that we have been working with AC on. Finn is 6ms old. He weighs 17#. He is a miniature Aussie who will weigh around 30-35# full grown. Finn is very loving and loves to play! He loves his brother Quinn! If adopted together, there is a break in the adoption fee! Finn is up to date on his vaccines and is microchipped. He will be neutered soon. Finn is not quite housetrained but working on it. He is very smart and catches on very quickly. Finn loves other dogs. Unknown with cats, however, he probably would be fine, once introduced properly. Older children would be great for him too! If you are interested in adopting, please go to our website and complete the adoption application. His adoption fee is $650. This covers all vaccines, vet exams, neuter and chip. https://acfrescue.weebly.com/adoption-foster-and-volunteer-applications.html

Story
Benson is an extra gentle, extremely lovable pup. Benson’s biggest hurdle is getting over his fear of abandonment. He gets very lonely and sad when he is left alone for more than a couple hours at a time. 3-4 hrs seems to be the longest he can handle being alone. Crate training with Petey has not proved successful in the past. He would thrive best in a home with a person(s) who is retired, works from home or could send him to doggie daycare daily. He absolutely loves doggie daycare!. He done well with all the dogs he meets, people big and small. With dog savvy cats that don’t run when chased he does much better with. He is house-trained, excellent on a leash and very calm and chill inside the house. Outside he love to run loose and play. Fenced in yard is a must to adopt Peter!

< I put Allie as unknown with dogs because she did great with my shitzu but doesnt like jumpy dogs on her and has been around adult kids so not sure about young. She is an Australian mix just not sure of the mix she is up to date on rabbies and does take seizure medicine and anxiety thats why we are looking for a quiet home that just wants someone to love. She loves treats and toys and all of us just not strangers someone who is patient and maybe a place to run around . Once she comfortable she really is very loving. She loves hikes. She is about 6 years old and I really dont want to do shelter thats last resort. Would be open to a trial run to make sure it's a good fit

Story
Dog Day Out, 7/27/24:Rocky was great today. He is a super friendly and sweet dog. I had initially wanted to see how he would do in a more relaxed environment instead of just taking him on a hike. Let me start by saying that Rocky is one of the sweetest dogs I`ve been around. He`s super relaxed once we gets to know you and you`ll notice a demeanor change once he`s warmed up to you! He`s a huge snuggle bug and was perfectly content with laying on my wood floor while I laid on the sofa. We had some lunch and Rocky did not beg and went to lay down, not paying much mind to the food we had. He is super sweet and he walks okay on the leash but there`s room for improvement. I would adopt this dog if my family member was not allergic. He is great! Foster notes, 6/1/24:Rocky is such a sweet pup! It definitely took him some time to come out of his shell and warm up to everyone. It took him longer to get comfortable with my husband than myself. He has been great with our 3 and 6 year old kids--he`s not bothered by them at all. A weird thing we learned is that he can walk UP stairs, but he is afraid to walk back DOWN them... It`s possible that this is because our stairs are narrow and hardwood, but he wouldn`t go near them and eventually had to be carried down. He`s very laid back about eating--just sort of grazes and has no food aggression. He lets you know when he needs to go out to potty. Mostly he follows me from room to room and just lays near wherever I am. He doesn`t bark at all, is very relaxed, but always seems down for an outing! At first, he didn`t seem to know any commands or even respond very well to his name. But once he got more comfortable and I got some treats, he seemed to know the drill. I haven`t tried to do too many commands, but we are going to keep working on it. He walks well on a leash. He doesn`t pull at all, but I don`t think he has a lot of practice with it because he doesn`t have leash awareness--he walks on the opposite side of poles or wraps himself or others up, etc. We have just been doing a once a day around the block walk and will hopefully get better. We left him home alone for just an hour and a half so far and he did fine. He wasn`t happy about us leaving, but didn`t bark or whine. When we got back, he was laying right by the door and nothing was chewed and no accidents. He REALLY doesn`t seem to like water. We wanted to give him a bath and he was not having it, lol!Foster notes, 4/30/24:Rocky is
