Story
Meet Fox! Fox was initially found in another county as a stray, but came to us as an owner surrender when his finder could no longer keep him. We are still getting to know Fox, but so far he seems to be a pretty typical herding breed dog. He is energetic, a little anxious in new situations, and smart as a whip! Fox is looking for a family that will keep him active as he has a busy mind and wants something to do. Fox knows several skills already including sit, shake, and roll over! Fox has done well with other dogs. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in to do a meet and greet before taking Fox home. If you are interested in meeting Fox, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Introducing Devonte! Like her namesake Philadelphia Eagles, she's a definite winner! She came to Dash over 10 months ago with her 2 teammates (siblings) sister Jaylen & Donovan, who have both found their forever homes. It's now this girl's turn. She is currently in the DASH Prison Program where she has mastered all of her 7 basic commands, along with some additional commands including come, stand up, off, crate, over, paw/shake and treat on the nose. She is very sweet, affectionate and very smart and would do best in an active home. She loves everyone she meets, dogs and humans alike. She has not been kid tested, but feel she would do fine with proper introductions. She is crate trained and housebroken in the prison setting and loves her toys, however, she would need to be watched if she has a stuffed toy, as she can sometimes destroy those. She is so ready to find her forever home. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 22, 2025, 2:13 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Meet Cooper! This little fellah is sweet, sassy, happy go lucky and looking for his forever home. He is currently in our DASH Prison Training Program where he is learning his manners and basic commands. He seems to have already picked up on sit, stay, down, wait & leave it. Of course he will need encouragement & continued practice as he acclimates to a new home environment. Cooper is affectionate, energetic, but also can be lazy and relaxed when it's time to snuggle. He loves water & baths, is leash trained, housetrained, doesn't complain in his crate. His trainer says he will go in his crate to sleep when he is told "bed time". He is smitten with this boy saying he is a happy dog who enjoys his toys, walks and social attention. Cooper loves all people and playing the other dogs. He has not been cat or kid tested so proper introductions are a must although Cooper would probably tell you he's ready to come home now! Apply to meet him today!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 12, 2025, 10:26 am

Story
RCHS does not conduct DNA tests on dogs who enter our facility therefore we are unable to guarantee breed or breed mix. Information provided by shelter staff, volunteers, and veterinarians is used to give a best estimate as to a dog’s breed make up. We do our best to inform adopters about the potential breeds for each dog.We are a dog only facility so we do not know how most of our dogs will be with cats. Even if a dog is surrendered to us and said to be good with cats there is no way to be sure the dog will be good with your cats. We do have a 7 day foster-to-adopt program so that you can see how the dog interacts with your cats before adoption.

Story
HUGE CUDDLE BUG ALERT!!! Meet Koda (fka Fortune). This, oh so handsome boy, is an approximately 3 ½ year old Aussie/Great Pyr mix looking for a family who loves walks, playtime, and cuddling as much as he does! He is a big teddy bear when it comes to getting lovins. Ear rubbings are his absolute favorite. (Oh, and lying down beside you, or better yet, ON you, to get those ears rubbed.) Next to cuddles, his second most favorite thing is playing. He thrives on playtime, and would rather drool on stuffies than tear them apart. He loves other dogs and would love to have a friendly, playful doggy brother or sister to play with, or at the least, a neighborhood dog to have frequent play dates with. Koda is good with older children but has not been around young children and because of his large size, younger children are not recommended. (He is not the biggest fan of cats though, so no cats in his fever home.) He also enjoys playing in water (and mud. LOL) Koda is very intelligent, able to meet your requests of sit, shake, come, and free when he knows you have a real beef jerky treat. He will use a classic “Pyr Paw” to get your attention, and then stuff his face into your lap for the good ear scratches. He loves car rides and does well while in the car. Koda is big and brave, and doesn’t always know his own size, and can have an occasional klutzy moment. He enjoys watching the yard out the window, running free in large fenced area, and sniffing *everything* on long walks. Koda is a true guardian breed, barking at anything he considers a threat to his flock - especially loud trucks, motorcycles, and diesel engines. He instinctively will also bark at anything he sees running - other dogs, people, critters and kids - it is in his breeding to be concerned about others moving too fast. Due to his guardian nature, he would do well to have a confident owner who he can look up to, rather than protect. He becomes worried when he thinks it’s his job to take care of you. If his flock leaves the nest his big brown eyes will plead “You don’t need to go to work! Stay with me!” He will patiently wait for you to come home so he knows you're safe (and so you can play.) True to a Pyr’s nature, he wants to explore (he was originally found as a stray) and will chase cars if given the opportunity - so a solid fence surrounding plenty of running space is a must! (No electric fences for this boy.) And for his safety, he must be leashed at all times if outside an enclosed area. Koda is UTD on his vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and on HW and flea prevention and weighs about 80# (A lot of that is fur! And he could stand to lose a few pounds.) He is housebroken, crate trained, and leash trained. If you think Koda is the perfect pup for you, please fill out an application at https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application. There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to her new furever family. Koda is currently located in Jackson, OH.
