Story
Meet Ginny our resident super mutt!! While we aren't sure of her exact breeds, we were told she is part Australian Shepherd. All we do know is she is the sweetest girl, weighs in at 35lbs and is around 8 months old! She had a rough start to life being a puppy mill survivor and being Lyme + but after lots of TLC and patience, she has started to show what a great dog she can be !   Ginny has just finished our prison training program and is ready to find her furever home! She would do best in a home with other dogs and cats should be fine (although we haven’t officially tested her). She will absolutely need a fenced in yard due to her being nervous in new situations . With patient owners, Ginny will open up and show all the love and affection. She loves attention from those she trusts! Ginny would be okay in a home with older kids as long as they give her some time to adjust. She has been in our training program for a few weeks now and ready for her first ever home/family!   Ginny is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and HW negative. She is also crate trained, potty trained and has a good understanding of basic commands. If you think this beautiful girl would be a good fit for your family, please apply at www.prodogsohio.org/adoptables   Her adoption fee is $350  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We appreciate your support, in order to help us continue to rescue dogs! Donations can be made via our PayPal account - info@prodogsohio.org. You must be willing to commute to the location that the pet is being fostered in order to be eligible to adopt. We do not ship our pets. We also require that you personally bring the pet back to us should the adoption not work out.   We do NOT negotiate adoption fees. All money goes to support our rescue operation. We are 100% volunteered based. We require your current dog(s) to be current on vaccines and heartworm prevention.  Apply online at www.prodogsohio.org, under the Adoptables tab. Due to the volume of apps and inquiries, we may not be able to respond to everyone.July 18, 2024, 12:09 am

Story
Name: Skylar Gender: Male Age: 13 weeks Current Weight: 15lbs Expected Adult Size: Large (50-100 lbs) Breed: Aussie mix. He is short haired, doberman coloring, and demonstrates a lot of "handsy-paw-play" and use of paws to direct, kinda boxer or lab like Energy Level: Low-Medium Dog Friendly: Yes, and can have other dogs in the home or can be an only dog Cat Friendly: Unknown Kid Friendly: Yes, any age Apartment Friendly: No Physical Fence Requirement: Physical fence preferred but not required with regular walks/exercise Crate Trained: Yes for short periods of time Potty Trained: Not fully potty trained, working on it Ideal Home/Adopter: Not fully potty trained, working on it What makes this dog special:  Looking for a puppy? Slightly terrified at all that teething, potty-training, and puppy-energy? Well, meet Skylar! Skylar is the perfect balance of playful exuberance—that tops out at about 15-minutes before he is ready to curl into your lap and take a nap. At his foster home, he has adored spending time with the human kids and is unbiased as to who is giving him his due in scratches—5 years old to 55 years old! He is gentle with kids and has not shown any evidence of “sharp-puppy-teeth mouthing” of people. He loves to play with other dogs. He is not a rough player or overly intrusive, which is kind of a unicorn temperament in a puppy—he just LOVES EVERYTHING and is ready to get involved. He was probably the “top dog” in his little sibling group of three before coming to RO, so little boss man strutted right up to his 100-lb “foster-sibling” who lives in the home. After a couple (hilariously funny) “are you serious right now?” rebuffs from the big dog, he found his place happily in the foster home hierarchy. He figured out that our other, grumpier dog (who is 10 years old but his size!). He learned quickly that she doesn’t want to play with him but that she is fine with relaxing together or working on a bone nearby in quiet times. He easily discriminated—BIG DOG PLAY! Grumpier dog cuddle. He continues to show that he is learning from the other dogs in the household! Skylar is SO HAPPY. Like ALL the time. Things that make him happy include: existing, the presence of people of any age, snacks, the presence of dogs, food, snacks, more snacks, pets and scritches, snacks, breathing air, realizing he is still existing after forgetting that fact from five minutes before, seeing a dust bunny roll by, puppy teethers, crackly soft toys, food, snacks, pets…He loves the world and is looking for someone who will love all these things with him. Skylar's adoption fee is $375. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##2121504##

Story
Murphy came in with his brother Mack. Both are sweet, loving, mid- to high-energy boys. Murphy started out more independent than his brother and still probably is a bit, but he also seeks out attention from time to time and can be very affectionate. Murphy looks more like pure Aussie than his brother, but he may still be mixed. We'd love Murphy and Mack to be adopted together. They are bonded and thrive in each other's company and the company of other dogs. A physically fenced yard is required. Murphy is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio. If you are interested in adopting Murphy, please complete the online application here (copy and paste into your browser): https://hhdane.formstack.com/forms/lostpetrecoveryadoptionform
