Riley is an adorable, sweet puppy that was found running loose in rural Kentucky. He and his brother, Waldo, were transported to Columbus to be fostered by Pet Promise. We are guessing he’s about 10-12 weeks old and weighs about 10 pounds. Because we don’t know the size or breed of his parents, we can’t be sure how big he will get, but we would guess 30-50 pounds. By their looks, we are guessing he is an Aussie/Shepherd Mix. He probably was raised outside because he’s doing outstandingly on house breaking. Riley is a typical happy, playful puppy. He is very sweet and loves people, especially when he’s in your lap and being pet! He likes kids and other dogs. We can really see Riley doing well growing up in just about any family environment. He would be a wonderful addition for an active family who can give him lots of exercise and enrichment to help him be the best pup he can be! He is a smart boy and is showing progress each day learning a lot! He is working on his puppy commands and manners. He will need a patient, consistent family to continue his training. Meet Hannah! Hannah needs a patient foster to help her acclimate to indoor living. Hannah raised a couple litters of puppies as a stray. We trapped Hannah and also took in one older pup and three young puppies (Hannah is the presumed mother of all four).Despite living as a stray and not having much interaction with humans, Hannah has done surprisingly well acclimating. She is comfortable in a crate and doesnt mind other dogs or cats. She comes when called and lets both adults and children approach and pet her now.Due to Hannahs background, we will require the foster to have a securely fenced yard. Hannahs biggest struggle is with leash training. She has chewed through two leashes so far. She does go to the door when she wants to potty (so we assume at one point she did live indoors) but startles at the sight of a leash.Hannah has the potential to be a terrific dog! She just needs a little help with leash-walking and some time to decompress.Fostering or foster-to-adopt are both options and we can provide a crate, baby gates, harnesses, and leashes to help accommodate Hannah in your home. I acquired this dog from a rural shelter, where she was brought in as a stray with another young dog.The shelter said her adoption is final. So I am looking for a new home for Scout.I am getting her vacinated, parasite treatment and spayed. She has been microchipped and licensed. Not sure of age, older puppy/ young adult, may be a year? All adult teeth. Likes toys, eats well. She is a bit skittish outside. She loves to run, she is a bullet dog, very fast ( fenced in yard). I think she needs more focused training than I can give due to unforeseen health issues (mine, not hers). She attached quickly to me, very sweet, absolutely no aggression or guarding behavior with food, toys, treats, etc. She will bark,but she is a pretty quiet dog . she would probably become a great dog for agility ! She’s crated at night for sleeping. She has not been destructive of clothes, shoes, furniture. She really likes her nylabones. She is reserved with strangers (breed trait?) Just needs training.
