Story
Murphy came in with his brother Mack. Both are sweet, loving, mid- to high-energy boys. Murphy started out more independent than his brother and still probably is a bit, but he also seeks out attention from time to time and can be very affectionate. Murphy looks more like pure Aussie than his brother, but he may still be mixed. We'd love Murphy and Mack to be adopted together. They are bonded and thrive in each other's company and the company of other dogs. A physically fenced yard is required. Murphy is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio. Story
Mack came in with his brother Murphy. Both are sweet, loving, mid- to high-energy boys. Mack has been just about the sweetest boy ever from moment one—extremely affectionate and just loves giving you big Mack hugs. He loves when you let him be a Velcro dog, but don’t get the wrong idea—when you need your own space, he is very good about not being pushy about it. Mack’s brother Murphy looks more like pure Aussie, but we’re pretty sure that’s Mack’s mix as well. We'd love Mack and Murphy to be adopted together. Story
Howl-o there! My name is Stellaluna, but my foster family calls me Stella for short. They named me Stellaluna because I have really big ears and really sweet doe eyes, which resembles the adorable literary bat, Stellaluna. I’m a black beauty, as my foster mom tells me every day! Here’s a little bit about me! My personality can be described as sweet, affectionate, energetic and playful. Before arriving at my foster mom’s house, I spent my life outside in a dirty pen with my mom and siblings. Thankfully PetPromise stepped up and took my siblings and me in, so we could live indoors and be loved and spoiled by our foster families. I was born on or around May 1st and I already weigh over 15 pounds. I’m going to be a good-sized dog, getting into the 50-60 pound range. My mom jokes that I look like I have a bit of Great Dane in my genes! This is a total guess, but my foster mom thinks I have some Pittie, some lab, and maybe a pinch of Great Dane! It’s hard to tell for sure, but one thing we know for sure, is I’m 100% cute, 100% sweet, and 100% deserving of an amazing home! I’m an energetic puppy that loves to run and play out in the yard. My foster mom says that a fenced-in yard is at the top of the list of things I need to be happy in my new home. I’m energetic and love to play and play and play, so access to the outdoors will help me expend some of my puppy energy, which I have a lot of! My foster mom also thinks puppy school would be perfect for me, so I can continue learning my commands and learning to be the best puppy I can be. I am quite needy at times, so I’m looking for a family that isn’t too busy and has LOTS of time to spend with me. I love attention and love being held, so my perfect family would be one that is active and ready and willing to give me all the love and attention I need. I’ll need plenty of exercise too! I’m working on potty-training, but will need more practice with this one. I sleep through the night in my crate and will go right outside in the morning to go potty. I still have the occasional accident, but my foster mom tells me I’m a very good girl and that I’m right on track. I’m still working on learning what things I can play with and how to be more gentle when I play. I don’t realize my size sometimes, but I’m getting better with this one! I do really well with the other dogs in my foster home. I’ve not been around cats or kids before. I love chew-toys and stuffies, so I’ll need a family that is going to buy me tons of toys!! I’m an inquisitive girl and I don’t miss much, so I’ll need stimulation, training, and lots of attention, so I can grow up to be the happiest and most well-behaved puppy I can be! If you’re looking to add a dog-friendly, active, affectionate, smart, and playful puppy to your family, then I might be the dog for you! I’m going to be a good-sized dog, so I would NOT be a good fit for a family with kids under the age of 10 nor a small apartment. I need a family that has plenty of time to give me all the attention and training I need and deserve, as well as the space I need to run and play. A family that has time to give me all the love and affection I need is top priority…along with a fenced in yard, of course! If you’re interested in spoiling me rotten, please fill out an adoption application today! FYI: I’ve already been spayed and microchipped and I’m almost done with all my shots. I’m excited to say that I’m ready to find my family!

Story
Meet Riley!   Riley is a 1 year old female Australian Shepherd, who weighs about 40 lbs. She’s a super playful dog who will get along with just about any other high energy dog! She loves to play with small dogs but they can’t always keep up with her. She would do best with an active owner, who will commit to walking her daily. She has been indifferent towards the cat in her foster home.   Riley is a graduate of our prison dog training program and has learned her basic commands quickly. She is fully crate-trained and housebroken. When she first arrived, she was nervous around new people but she’s getting much better and warms up quickly. She just needs new human friends to be patient and let her approach them, then she’s all wiggles!    Riley has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and is heartworm negative. Her adoption fee is $350 and includes an hour training session with a professional trainer in the Columbus, Cincinnati, or Dayton areas. She is currently located near London, OH.   If you are interested in meeting Riley, please submit an application on our website, www.prodogsohio.org/adoptables.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We appreciate your support, in order to help us continue to rescue dogs! Donations can be made via our PayPal account - info@prodogsohio.org. You must be willing to commute to the location that the pet is being fostered in order to be eligible to adopt. We do not ship our pets. We also require that you personally bring the pet back to us should the adoption not work out.   We do NOT negotiate adoption fees. All money goes to support our rescue operation. We are 100% volunteered based. We require your current dog(s) to be current on vaccines and heartworm prevention.  Apply online at www.prodogsohio.org, under the Adoptables tab. Due to the volume of apps and inquiries, we may not be able to respond to everyone.September 21, 2023, 7:53 pm

Story
Swish is a 5 yr old Australian Shep/Husky mix.  We were told he was housetrained prior to coming to the shelter....he does keep his area clean here. Previous owner also told us that he knows several commands, is crate trained, and does ok on leash.  We were also told he is fine with other dogs and children. We require meet and greets with other dogs as well as all family members  prior to adoption being approved. Anyone interested in Swish must meet him and complete an application in order to be considered.   Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt. Gilead, OH. 419-946-1747September 29, 2023, 12:08 am
