Story
Murphy came in with his brother Mack. Both are sweet, loving, mid- to high-energy boys. Murphy started out more independent than his brother and still probably is a bit, but he also seeks out attention from time to time and can be very affectionate. Murphy looks more like pure Aussie than his brother, but he may still be mixed. We'd love Murphy and Mack to be adopted together. They are bonded and thrive in each other's company and the company of other dogs. A physically fenced yard is required. Murphy is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio. Story
Mack came in with his brother Murphy. Both are sweet, loving, mid- to high-energy boys. Mack has been just about the sweetest boy ever from moment one—extremely affectionate and just loves giving you big Mack hugs. He loves when you let him be a Velcro dog, but don’t get the wrong idea—when you need your own space, he is very good about not being pushy about it. Mack’s brother Murphy looks more like pure Aussie, but we’re pretty sure that’s Mack’s mix as well. We'd love Mack and Murphy to be adopted together. They are bonded and thrive in each other's company and the company of other dogs. A physically fenced yard is required. Mack is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio. Story
ABOUT ME… Hi there! My name is Calvin, and I’m your classic Aussie with a big personality and a zest for life. I came into foster care after my previous owner realized I was more than they could handle, but with the right environment, I’m thriving. I’m a fast learner, eager to please, and happiest when I have a job to do. I’ve been working with a trainer through the rescue and recently completed a week of board-and-train, where I did so well they said I’m welcome back anytime. I AM GREAT WITH… Other dogs. I love having a canine friend to play with and would do best with a confident dog companion. I’m completely house-trained, sleep soundly in my crate at night, and enjoy a consistent routine. With continued training, I could make a great running buddy. I’ve got the energy and enthusiasm for it. I AM STILL WORKING ON… Confidence around new people. I wasn’t well-socialized as a puppy, so I tend to bark at strangers and can be protective of my home. Once I know you, I warm up quickly and bond deeply with the people in my household. I would do best in a quiet home with slow introductions to new guests. For visitors like house workers who can’t do slow intros, I do best when I can be calmly separated. I AM NOT GOOD WITH… Cats. I try to herd them. I would also do best in a home without young children. My excitable nature means I’m still learning not to jump, and I respond better to older, respectful kids. I REQUIRE… *A home with no cats *No young children *A large yard or farm where I can burn off energy *A confident owner with herding breed experience *A quiet household without a lot of coming and going *The ability to provide slow introductions to new people, and when that’s not possible (for example, with house workers or unexpected visitors), a way to safely and calmly separate me FUN FACTS ABOUT ME… If you're looking to work on your sprints, I’m ready to be your motivational coach. I’m also a certified Parkour Master. I love jumping from furniture to furniture and, on occasion, launching myself toward my people. It’s all part of the charm. Most of all, I’m looking for someone who appreciates a loyal dog that’s always happy to see you when you come home. VETTING... ~All animals in our care are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (age 1 & up), given preventatives, and provided with initial vaccinations AT MINIMUM. ~If booster shots have not been completed prior to adoption, they may be completed at our clinic in Columbus, OH, at no additional expense. Alternatively, the adopter can use their own vet to boost vaccinations, at their own expense. TERMS & CONDITIONS... ~Adopters must reside in the State of Ohio. ~No transportation assistance is provided; adopter must commute for meet & greet. ~Meet & greets are not scheduled until there is an approved adoption application on file. ~The expectation is that you will bring your new pet home from the meet & greet, if all goes well. Please be prepared to do so by bringing a collar, leash, harness, crate, etc. to secure your new pet.

Story
Mana is a 6 year-old Shepherd/Pointer mix who weighs 57 lbs. She was surrendered to CHA when her owner could no longer care for her. In her previous home, she lived with cats. Mana is a sweet girl who loves to give hugs and lean into people for cuddles. She is very loyal and wants to always be by her person`s side. She is super intelligent, walks well on leash, and learns new things quickly. Mana can be reactive to other dogs, and will bark at them as she passes. But, she can be redirected with treats and distractions. She has not yet had a successful dog introduction while at CHA, and so we are recommending that she be the only dog in the home. Mana is more than ready to find her family, and she will be a steadfast, loving companion to any person lucky enough to bring her home!
