Meet this handsome 4-month-old Miniature Australian Shepherd mix! 🐾 We got DNA results back today and discovered that he is 52% Miniature Australian Shepherd and 31% Mountain Cur. At approximately 18 pounds, this sweet boy is the perfect age to start learning all the things that make a great family companion. He’s already learning to sit on command and is beginning to understand the ropes of housetraining. He is currently being fostered with an older dog who is helping show him the how to be a good canine companion. Having a confident dog around has been a great way for this little guy to learn and build his social skills. Of course, he’s still a puppy, so his new family will need to be patient, consistent, and ready for all the fun (and occasional mischief!) that comes with puppyhood. He’ll need continued work on housetraining, basic commands, manners, and all of the important Puppy Training 101 lessons. He will be neutered on October 9 and will be ready for adoption after this. If you’re looking for a young pup who is eager to learn and ready to grow into an amazing companion, this handsome boy may be the one for you! ❤️🐶 📍 Adoptions will take place at the North Fayette PetSmart in Robinson Township, PA. Our Rescue works side by side with that PetSmart! A little bit about us: We are a Mississippi-based rescue dedicated to saving dogs and cats who might otherwise never have the opportunity. I’m the kind of pup who makes you smile just by being around, whether I’m clumsily trying to get your attention, enthusiastically greeting you, or reminding you that petting me is always more important than whatever else you thought you needed to do. I have a feeling I’m going to be VERY good at keeping my future family entertained! Mama weighs around 55 pounds, and I’m expected to be about that size myself when I’m all grown up. So while I’m currently the big brother of the bunch, I’ll likely grow into a medium-sized dog with a whole lot of love to give. With my possible Catahoula, Aussie, and Heeler heritage, I’ll benefit from an active home that provides exercise, training, and mental stimulation. Walks, adventures, games, and learning new things will help me grow into the best boy I can be. Clyde is a happy, playful boy who believes there's simply way too much fun to be had to sit still for very long! He's always ready for the next wrestling match, a good case of the zoomies, or a toy that needs his immediate attention. Other dogs are definitely Clyde's favorite playmates. He absolutely loves his puppy roommates and is happiest right in the middle of whatever they're doing. Whether they're racing around the yard, wrestling, or investigating something new, you can count on Clyde joining the party. He's also been respectful of the cats in his foster home. Clyde enjoys his people too and gets excited when he sees you—he'll happily engage in a little human-versus-puppy wrestling match! He's just not quite as interested in stopping for pets and cuddles as some of his roommates. Right now, playtime wins over snuggle time, and with so much puppy business on his schedule, who can blame him? As he continues getting more individual attention and bonding with his own family, we think there's still plenty of Clyde's personality waiting to unfold. He loves toys, running around outside, and putting those puppy legs to good use. He's currently working on potty training and learning all the other skills that come with growing into a very good boy. Monty is a great name for a great dog like me ;) I have the Monty Python kind of humor... goofy and sweet! But, don't mess with my crate! That really is my only "pet: peeve!! I was found on the streets 2 years ago and was adopted as a pup... however, I became the boss in the house and didn't like anyone entering the house that I didn't know :( SO..... Back to the rescue, because they won't give up on me!! So here I am and I have really adjusted to the environment and new people meeting me and treats and lots of love. AND the crew here basically has determined that I need a family/adopters that will be in charge of the house. Someone I can trust to protect me so I don't have to!! I am vocal in my crate, so my crate needs to be away from the common areas so I can relax and not meet everyone that stops by. Once I settle into my new home I will follow your lead! I am a gorgeous boy, with caramel and milk chocolate highlights in my soft fur. I want to please my family and go on all kinds of adventures! I am awesome out and about, meeting new people and new friends :D I hope you will look into my eyes, the windows to my soul, and see the HOPE I have to find my own home again!
