Meet Maisey — the happiest little shadow you never knew you needed 💕 Maisey is an Australian Shepherd mix with a permanent smile and a heart big enough for every human, dog, and possibly the entire neighborhood. She greets life with full-body wiggles and believes strangers are simply friends she hasn’t leaned on yet. She absolutely adores other dogs and people, and while she’s still deciding what, exactly, a cat is, she’s keeping an open mind. Maisey has a playful streak and may occasionally “borrow” toys and bones, but she’s a gentle thief — if her foster brother files a complaint, she usually surrenders the goods without much protest. Walk time is a work in progress. When she spots a person or pup, Maisey rises onto her hind legs and performs a tiny ballerina dance of joy in an attempt to get closer immediately. She is currently studying the fine art of “walking politely” but enthusiasm keeps interrupting. Her manners are improving daily! She sometimes jumps up when excited or when she suspects someone else is receiving more attention than she is legally comfortable with. If attention levels drop below acceptable standards, Maisey will simply drape her entire body across you like a weighted blanket of love. Despite her joyful personality, Maisey is mostly a quiet girl. She’ll speak up briefly if she needs attention, then returns to her preferred communication style: leaning, snuggling, and loving you with her whole self. Maisey will need continued leash and manners training however she learns quickly with repeated corrections. *She’s great in the yard, no digging or escaping. Monty is a great name for a great dog like me ;) I have the Monty Python kind of humor... goofy and sweet! But, don't mess with my crate! That really is my only "pet: peeve!! I was found on the streets 2 years ago and was adopted as a pup... however, I became the boss in the house and didn't like anyone entering the house that I didn't know :( SO..... Back to the rescue, because they won't give up on me!! So here I am and I have really adjusted to the environment and new people meeting me and treats and lots of love. AND the crew here basically has determined that I need a family/adopters that will be in charge of the house. Someone I can trust to protect me so I don't have to!! I am vocal in my crate, so my crate needs to be away from the common areas so I can relax and not meet everyone that stops by. Once I settle into my new home I will follow your lead! I am a gorgeous boy, with caramel and milk chocolate highlights in my soft fur. I want to please my family and go on all kinds of adventures! I am awesome out and about, meeting new people and new friends :D I hope you will look into my eyes, the windows to my soul, and see the HOPE I have to find my own home again! The rescue is great because I got a second chance, but I REALLY want a home!! Local adoption only $200 (in TX)

As she approaches her 9th birthday, she carries herself with the quiet confidence of a girl who knows exactly what she likes in life: A comfy couch. A warm lap (or at least a leg to lean on). And her person nearby. At around 30 pounds, Patches is the perfect “just right” size — big enough to feel substantial when she curls up beside you, small enough to fit perfectly tucked against your side. She is mostly a lap dog… or at least a “pressed firmly against your hip” dog. Personal space? Optional. Warmth and love? Required. She’s fully house trained, has lovely house manners, and gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes. She’s been living in a home environment and fits right in like she’s always belonged there. Cats don’t bother her one bit — she’s far too dignified to get caught up in that drama.
